THANKS FOR WATCHING! - Навчання та стиль
It never ceases to amaze me how much y’all get done by yourselves. miss Wanda you make me feel like a slacker!
This is the first year that I've saved my carrots from last year to grow seeds. Can't wait until they are ready.
Hard working people you are! So inspiring!
Good morning Mr Danny and Ms Wanda. Thank y'all for sharing. Shame on the sweet corn. Definitely been a trying year with pests and critters this year. Growing has definitely been a challenge. Y'all have a blessed day.
I’ve been putting up corn this week. Finishing up tonight (I hope) and ready to plant my butterbeans. It’s hot but I’ve been experimenting with different planting dates trying to beat the aphids. If I can get them to bloom in this heat I might cover the beds with shade cloths and just water it good every other day and hope for the best. Not planting peas until fall garden. I sure do miss shelling peas inside in the cool when it’s hot outside
It's always a blessing to see how things are growing by you. We'll be harvesting our potatoes soon and are planting more sweet potatoe slips here.
🦋🇺🇸👋Good Morning Miss Wanda and Mr Danny and Everyone. Love seeing all your hard work is rewarded with such a beautiful bounty
Having extreme heat here in Indiana. But so far all the watering is keeping my garden looking good. I am going to try and save Seeds this year now. So sorry about your sweet corn.
This is my first year doing yellow wax beans. You all inspire me so much.
Lookin good! 😃 Here in central NC everybody is having a hard time getting their sweet corn to grow. Makes me really sad because we love our silver queen corn 😊
I pulled the broccoli plants a few days ago since they were basically done and we have true summer heat coming next week. For the first time, four days ago I planted black-eyed peas in the beds the broccoli had been in. Since the soil was already pretty warm, they are already germinating and growing!! Impressive! I've read that black-eyed peas love the heat, so I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of harvest I get in September. They are an heirloom variety, so I will definitely save seed for next year. You all are so inspiring!! God is speaking through you all wonderfully!
Good update, Miss Wanda!
Thanks for the video I all ways enjoy Listening to you and Wanda.
I think it's the soil...I think you should put down some top soil and 4 inches of manure this fall if you can...❤ not too shabby just needs some goodies for next year 🎉
I love your cattle panel trellises Wanda. It looks so pretty with the cukes climbing up. We put one up this year near our greenhouse. Just love it!
My yellow wax bean are done here in SC & I am also leaving the rest for seed saving. My tomatoes & peppers are doing great but the rest of my garden is not doing a well as last year. I have more sweet potato slips to put in too. Thanks for the update & stay cool. ❤
The first DSH video I ever watched was Danny seed saving Amish paste tomato seeds. Then I went back and watched as many as I could find. I need to figure out a way to archive them because I feel bad asking him the same questions over and over but my tired old brain must be full because I can’t remember the fertilization schedule and product from one year to the next!
Omg you even got the bumble bee buzzing😆🤣❤❤❤❤❤❤
100-degree temps in WV this week, but our garden is several months behind yours. Watering our large gardens every night. 🌽 🍅 🥒
After watching this I just HAD to check my garden. So MANY veggies are on the verge of being ready to harvest. I DID end up taking one ear of corn (ready at the end of the week, I think) 2 small carrots to snack on and a 6 inch long zucchini.
Them dang raccoons ! ! mornin’ Wanda !!! Tractor sounded loud after all that quiet time in the garden 🤭
Good morning Wanda. I’m so sorry that the raccoons got your sweet corn we’ve had the same issues in the past. Danny needs to get some raccoon traps and get rid of them.
We have them set everywhere and nothing is working.
@@pecangrovems try the Duke dog proof raccoon traps. We used them and they worked. Use dry corn to bait them
@@BrendaLeigh1630 tried it didn't work.
Thanks for the update Wanda.
Take care and stay cool !!!
I have volunteer tomatoes growing with my sweet potatoes. Maybe from last years amended dirt. Cherry tomatoes in ground, celebrity in bags. 🤷🏼♀️may have…? Companion plants ya know
So I have a small backyard garden and I do container planning because I have no grass in my backyard at all so I have to go deep containers so the soil can be good enough for the plants either way this year I have focused on cucumbers of all sorts to make pickles, Boston pickling, regular cucumbers, hybrid, cucumbers, and I’ve already done really great. I probably already made at least 20 quarts of pickles and I still doing pretty good. The plans are still going on and I did pop seeds in for succession, I also have small things like potatoes finger green beans I planted a lot. I haven’t come up yet but we’re getting a lot of rain so I’m hoping onions bun onions, onions I’m doing bell peppers. I have them all over the place so I have a backyard and I have a front yard garden so I did pop in some squashes winter squash, the garden keeps you busy right now it really does🌱🌱🌱🌱💚🥒
Morning! The heat has arrived here in Missouri. We get out early to water and take care of outside work. Have to come in by 10am, shower, and take a break. Doesn’t take long for the laundry to dry! I have to buy corn from a local farmer, raccoons have always ruined any corn I try to plant.
😃🎉 Excellent
I subscribed to your channel 🙏
Sorry I’m in Houston,Tx ..
I also have so so many 🐝
Can you please have Danny show us what he’s doing to the peanuts? What exactly do you mean by “lay over”? Oh…. I think my Cherokee tans have finally taken. So excited to see how they do this year.
I had racoon problems too one year
I dont know how you manage all that garden. You must work 12hrs a day with harvesting and processing. Even in my 50's there was no way I could all that. Kudos Wanda.
12 hours is an average day for us.
Plus teamwork
Thanks for the tour. It made me sad to see your sweet corn destroyed! Sweet potatoes are looking awesome. 😊
Just started getting tomatoes here In so cal. Very mild spring just started getting 90’s nights still cool.
🙏🙏🙏♥️🙂🕊👍. The heat has affected my Propane tank the pressure release pop 5% to 10% gas loss
Good to know that I can still put in sweet potatoes. I put a few orange ones in today. Later, I hope to get the white ones planted. They're 6 foot rows, but something is better than nothing.
Garden looks great in spite of the heat. For sure the critters and bugs are on more now than ever. 😢 on the sweetcorn.
We planted our sweet potatoes and someone came into our garden and pulled them thinking it was just weeds! Not sure how long I have left to restart.
This is my first year with a new garden. I’m growing one kind of okra, one kind of melon, and one kind of squash. If the melon turns out as good as advertised, I’ll send y’all one to try for yourselves, and it will be good for seed stock.
Crossing my fingers , tge corn seed I got from is doing good so far. Hoping to get enough for great amount of corn seed fir next yr.
Could you try planting your sweetcorn in a chicken run? If you have one with a top netting I am so sorry raccoons destroyed your sweetcorn. I absolutely love sweetcorn. I grew some last year and I started getting some really good ears of corn and then something started eating my ears I put socks on the rest of theears that weren’t ready to prevent a critter from eating them and they were so smart. They eventually pulled the socks off and still ate the corn but it sure look cute. Have all those socks on my ears.
I love sweet potatoes but can't imagine eating that many!
Our things are just beginning and yours are basically done!
Sorry about the sweet corn loss. That's how the deceiver works. Like a raccoon. Comes in the middle of the night to kill, steal, and destroy. Ugh. May the Lord restore what the raccoon hath eatten. Love youguys.
Great update. Danny told us it was going to be hot and one extreme to the next on rain. I’m currently in the dry rain and need a shower of rain bad. Thank you for sharing.
I’m just getting ready to plant sweet corn in a raised bed, but I’m worried about the local raccoons doing what yours did. Those darn critters argued with me when I tried to shoo them away from my potted plants one night. They won the argument that time.
Great video!
Basil is the companion plant for tomatoes it helps repel the horn worm.
I don't know even close to what you both know but I do like to solve problems the cheapest way. what about attaching a couple of rows of barbed wire on the outside of the fencing panels to keep out the climbing varmints'-I was just wondering if that would help?
We have basil in with some of our tomatoes doesn't work.
Thank you for the video.
Your garden looks good for all the heat up here in Tn it’s in the nineties and no rain and now the Japanese Beatles are attacking everything in the garden and my fruit trees
Our beans are just starting to come on
Great video God bless
Thanks
Do you use shape cloth down south? I live in Michigan and I use a 40% shade cloth when we hit 90° so the plants don’t stall. I mostly use it on tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers.
Yes we use 40 percent.
I had to pull my tomatoes in a couple weeks ago way too hot down here south Florida. Trying my hand at some beans, maybe have to try the yellow wax beans sometime. Was curious when canning can you freeze them if you don’t have enough to can and then canned them after you collect enough? Didn’t know if you can can after freezing
Yes you can
Very interesting
Good morning
Good morning.
That's so unfortunate about your sweet corn. You were actually going to get some when it looked hopeless at one point.
I did dill refrigerator pickles. Can’t seem to get a water bathed batch to stay crispy.
For what it’s worth, I have heard that adding fresh grape leaves to pickles can help keep them crispy. One leaf per jar.
Homesteading family has a great video on this. Finally have crispy pickles this year
Grape leaves will help, but I started adding Pickle Crisp to mine. They stay crispy that way.
@@DeepSouthHomestead Ignorant question. What is Pickle Crisp?
Me either. They taste good, but not crunchy.
N.A.S.A should implement a Fifty Plan of how to turn the whole surface of the moon into one big garden.
I just put in more sweet potato slips a couple days ago.. the last of them.
are any of your herbs not hating the heat?
Herbs aren't having any problems
👍👍👍👍👍👍
WE LIVE DEEPER SOUTH THAN YOU ALL, OUR GARDEN HAS BEEN DONE FOR A COUPLE WEEKS NOW. 😢
Hi Wanda, do you grow tomatoes in the Fall?
Yes
Sad the danged racoon got your sweet corn. That heat is something! Dont know that I could handle that!
Hello 👋 ❤🇺🇸🙏
Sweet potato pie to me is better than pumpkin pie
The first thing that I said , is what happened to the corn? That’s aweful
The cows won’t eat the beans?
Yeah but they have plenty @@tambrasmith9707
I’ve never feed mine the bean vines , I thought that it might not be good for them …
@@tambrasmith9707 butter bean plants are not good for them.
Despite being 85* at 1 am we are having Dew as I write, I just took the dog out.
Oh those darn raccoons taking all the corn dang , well you win some and you lose some but it looks great inspite of the heat take care yall.
So sorry about your sweet corn Ms. Wanda If the whole fence was still there, you would have gotten some. Can’t you replant?
No sweet corn is a cool weather crop.

After the devastation of the sweet corn, I suspect that the culprit has earned a date with the executive producer of its terminal sentence.
