Hello viewers, I am Dr. Amit Mandal and in this video I am explaining a technical topic with a lucid way. In convection heat transfer. The rate of heat tarsnfer is directly proportional to the surface area of hot surface. To enhance the heat transfer rate through the hot surface, one idea is to increase the surface area of surface. Fins are projected surfaces to increase the surface area in order to enhance the heat transfer rate. It is same as the large surface area of ears of an elephant in order to enhance the heat loss from elephants body fastly. The ears of elephant do act as a fin.Similarly heat loss from our fingers in winters are more compared to our palm due to increased surface area. This is the reason fingers become coller than palm. The fingers of our hands are also acting as fins.In this video you can learn
    1) Why fins are used and their significance?
    2) Easy method for mathematical derivation
of temperature profile for infinitely long fin.

Why this channel is so under rated??.....
We all viewers should help these types of channels to grow because we can see his hard work that how much he did for us. Really a classic explanation ..... Thanks buddy.

you didnt finish the lecture though, what's the rate of heat transfer in this case? how does it relates to final equation that you obtained?

@11:49 why dQ/dx considered Fourier's law when convection was also happening simultaneously,
Video cleared doubts beautifully. I will appreciate it if you could answer my query.

Numerical problem solve karte waqt agar question me nahi diya hai ki Kon sa case hai to kaise pata lagega ki fin ko infinitly consider karna hai ya nahi
