- The top is made from 2" thick solid sapele and the tree branches and leaves are underlit with l.e.d. lighting. The base was modeled after a cypress tree, but I chose to re-create the tree base using birch ply. Combined the top and base weigh roughly 650 pounds. Thanks for watching!!! and if you have any questions,,, just ask!
man the way that stump came together with the waves & gloss was amazing.
thanks chris!
A project like this boggles my mind how you even approached making it. Love the base layup and carving.
i wish i lived near you, i would work for free just to learn techniques. great work
Wow I am blown away by this table! Love the base! Love the top inlay! Everything! Seriously beautiful work!
Awesome, thanks!
Wow! That's nine kinds of awesome! Beautiful work sir!
This piece is simply amazing. Truly a work of art.

POLYESTER RESIN WORK WITH MANY YEARS , GREAT VIDEO.
love the craftmanship, very very nice job!
Billy New thanks!
Wow beautiful
amazing!!! if i had a place like that and can do what u doing then that would be my only escape from a lot of bullshit.
awesome work
Thank you!
That's one bad ass table... bet that took a minute or two.
Thanks!
this deserves much more iews and likes:) love it!
Just gorgeous. You are very talented. Great job.
Pink Sexyon18 Thank you!
Holy 50 shades of fukn Blue Balls. Nice Work and a lot of Cutting. Great Job !!!
Awesome table! Thats a lot of sheets of ply. Birch at 50 bucks a sheet! Not knowing how wide the base is and guessing, 36" tall base 3/4 ply 48 sheets over 2 thou shewwww!
Using the grinder for the stump base was brilliant imo. Absolutely brilliant. I loved this vid, and subscribed and love all the others I've seen. Thank you for inspiring me to try new things. Oh and do I EVER UNDERSTAND the idea of power tools for escape!
:-)
great job! im more iterested in the base. it looks better without the shine, more natural, but i do recognize that your work is awesome! thanks
Stevie Anderson Thanks, and I agree, better without the high gloss, but for this job it wasn't up to me.
good job!...amazing Design!...N°1
Nice video. Looks great!
How to DIY with Sammy Bones Thanks Sammy!
amazing! gotta do something like this some day.
LMAO! SO, I got myself the chainsaw grinder gizmo and tried hacking away at some 2x4s for practice. Man, you have got to have arms like a TANK! FUN, but nowhere NEAR as easy as you make it look. I'll keep trying though. Thanks again for the inspiration
why spend time watching t.v....when you could be creating a handcrafted masterpiece. this should be in an art gallery
Resin may be popular now but I believe the craze will go over. The very high gloss on wood does not complement the true colour of wood.
Rita de Beer I agree. I made and published this six years ago, I have since moved on to different design elements.
Tolle Anleitung und super dargestellt. Habe dir einen Daumen nach oben gegeben. Gruß Ralph
First this is amazing. How long and how much money did it take to make.Never seen such a cool table. Maybe next time do a wicked looking design on the lighted part. Amazing .
Thanks so much! There is about $2k in material and about 160 hours in it. Had fun making it!
Thanks, all just an experiment! Glad it worked.
Thank you ChefFelishaWild, I definitely had fun making it!
Thanks, and you're welcome.
Thanks, and it is my escape.
Thanks Andre
Nice
Freakin far-out best table I have seen
AMAZING!!!
Thanks Whitney!!
Thank you.
Wow that is amazing! What made you think to laminate the plywood for the stump base? That was the most creative idea I have seen in a long time.
Thanks! Idea probably just came from not sleeping, lol
great work
so cool!
thanks for the reply
Really beautiful work. Can you please tell me how you attached the table top to the base.
muy buen trabajo me encanto ..10.. puntos
muy bueno todo principalmente el tronco 10 ps
Wow, that is amazing! I'm just learning and wanting to start wood working. Got any suggestions for a beginner?
jonathan livers Thanks! Get some wood, cut it up, and build whatever comes to mind! There are no rules.
im jealous of your wood, in my town always is full of cracks.
+XxIzhtarxX I have a good variety of plywoods to choose from here in Florida. Some of the cheaper stuff has lots of voids.
Epic !
Thanks!
One of these would look perfect outside my outdoor hot tub, especially in the winter, im curious the cost, and how much it wouldcost if it breakds down
Fantastic work. But what if an LED stripe breaks down? How the hell change it? I love it. And I really wanna make one for me. 😍
+Alyathaean They can be changed from underneath.
+True Wood Design, Inc. Custom Woodworking Ah, thats great. :) More and more Ideas are rising up in my mind *lol* :)
Salut tu es un pro
Great looking result! Are the LEDs epoxied in permanently... or can you change them in case one burns out?
Stringfellow Hawke Thanks! They can be changed from underneath.
I think the idea for making the trunk was very good. Have to ask how you managed wood movement for the table top. Meaning did any of those inlays crack from wood movement or is the top so coated with epoxy that wood movement is a non issue? Very creative and keep making stuff.
I haven't heard anything from these clients, so I'm guessing it's fine after 3+ years
True Wood Design, Inc. Custom Woodworking Thanks for the reply. Keep going with good work.
Sau geil......
weiter so...:-)
Great video. Even greater work! Also, what's the name of this song and artist?
Excellent work dude! How long did it take you to perFECT this certain idea? just great man!
Thanks!!! I guess it's still not totally "perfected". It's all just an experiment. Seems to work though.
Thank you for sharing your work it's very impressive. One question though, how was the table top connected to the base/leg.
Thanks! I built a frame that was bolted to the base and then bolted to the top
Very cool
On the blue did you add lights? I see it glows in the dark.
awesome
Thanks, I actually had some other music up that I knew,,,, but then a few people commented that the music was shit, lol. So I changed it to an open license song selected through youtube. Long story short,,, I have no idea who the artist is.
Frickin amazing work you do. What is the music?
Thanks! My memory is horrible, I'm sure I knew the music at some point, today that braincell is gone!
Beautiful! But can you tell me how the leg went from high gloss to matte and back to gloss again? Were you sanding between coats of epoxy? Also, how did the top go from dark edges to dark all over? Did you abandon the dark edge and spray the whole surface?
that's just lighting
How did you make the desktop black in the final images? is that just lighting? I'm trying to achieve a black table top , resin inlay much like this
Good afternoon , tell me what that was treated surface so shiny ? glue and then nail polish ?
Thanks, and you weren't the first to say the music sucked.... It's been changed ;)
How many layers of plywood is that, and how thick are the pieces??
Very nice job...I really like the inlay wood.
Lee Goins I don't even remember how many layers. It was 3/4" ply, actually under, probably 18mm, stacked 28" so roughly 37? Thanks!
The l.e.d. lights are cover in plastic then I poured from the top. With some work they can be removed from the bottom should there be a need.
Маэстро!!!
Yes, lights are under the table.
WOW
2k in materials, and 160hrs of labour.
I'm thinking that you sold this to the customer for no less than 7.5k, and probably upwards of 10k.
Not that I expect you will tell me ;-
pbpb253 I can tell you I would want more for it today. My pricing is dictated by how busy I am and how fun the job will be. Fun to build and nothing to do = cheap pricing , Uninterested and really busy = expensive! :)
This is some of the dopest shit I've ever seen.
Lynny H Thank you!

Is there a tamp late anywhere for the leg?
Nice job. I do the same with drifftwood.
Hello first i am a noob but making a arcade couch table!
and light on a table like this is amazing!
first question wahts the material did you use for the flower?
and thid you use leds and how did the color changing?
The inlay is epoxy mixed with dye and metallic flake, the led lighting comes with a remote control that has different settings and colors.
stunning peice of work.was that resin on the table top or just clear coat?
epoxy
Пилить доски из дерева, чтобы потом снова сделать дерево? Оригинально..
Awesome work! How did you cut the design? I see a jig saw these but surely you didn't use that? A router perhaps?
I used a jigsaw
Wow
the trunk you did is amazing it can be something eles
Thank you
si llenaste los led con resina ¿se pueden reenplazar?
the logos in the center of table ,, did you have a template ?
Hi, please tell me what kind of resin you use for filling the ditches? It is opaque?
Table top epoxy. I've tried all kinds of resin. the table top epoxy stays a little bit flexible. It's clear and can be dyed any color.
hi bro im very very impressed about that table youre a fucking artist man dont deserve it you can live because of that really i want a a be you frien i like to make wood works to dont you remember the name of the song its amazing as your work congrats if someday do u come to acapulco look for me bro
Damn!
Just be careful they can be dangerous! It's really not that hard, it's all in the technique. The angle of the grind, direction of the grain, depth of cut,,,,, You'll get the hang of it.
What epoxy did you use if I may ask? Very nice finish.
+Tide16nc I don't remember the brand, but it was bought local. It's a standard 1:1 mix tabletop epoxy.
Just one question, was that a clear coat you applied before covering it with the epoxy resin? And why?
I sprayed the table with conversion varnish to help seal the wood. Then a scratch coat of epoxy. Then a full pour. If the wood isn't completely sealed, the wood will continue to release air bubbles as the pour coat is curing. It's really frustrating, don't want to go through that again!
Maravilhoso 😍😄😙
what's his name this material blue you put it above led
เจ๋ง
How did you figure out to do the stencils for the base? Did u just wing it?
David DeJong i did just wing it.
what is the price?
what's on the table ? glass?
epoxy
is that epoxy that give glaze?
yes, I would have preferred a satin or flat finish, but the client gets what the client wants.
look nice
hang on, do i understand this correctly.....trees have been cut down, transported to be milled into very thin slices, glued together into a composite 'ply' wood, then stacked and fixed together to make.......a tree? yep, i must be the mad one
Lol, it's just what I had available. If I had a cypress tree base, I would have used that, and saved myself a lot of time! But also the plywood I used is all from tree farms that are sustainable vs a 100+ year old cypress tree.
True Wood Design, Inc. Custom Woodworking bless you, i wasnt trying to be offensive, i admire creativity and uses for wood that promote sustainance of woodlands which humanity has forgotten is rather important. ply isnt sustainable no matter what the corporations say. farmed woodlands are monocultures which humans are only just beginning to realise are really bad for ecosystems. the glue, the energy for processing.....but then again who's to say that climate change isnt cos of tiny fluctuations in solar output over thousands and millions of years....i'm certainly not all knowing. question everything i say. keep the faith fellow woodworker:)
That's bad ass . why didn't you just get a real tree and seal it /
