Tucker is a ghost in the post season. That's why the Astros weren't sold on him being worth 300M. Also they made that run for the division title without him.
Even if they don’t sign him, they’ll get a comp pick for him. I guarantee you they offer him 300m plus. How many 300m contracts have there EVER been? Bro is acting like the Cubs just refuse and it’s only happened a handful of times in the history of baseball 😂
@@BobaBombs better defensively by a mile? defensive metrics, like drs (a combination of four different statistical metrics), but in general really, are flawed and based on estimates and too many variables, and ultimately people like whichever makes their player look better. Tucker has a much better drs in rf than Soto, for example, while Soto has a higher range factor there, Soto is above league average range and Tucker is below league average range. Offensively, Tucker is nowhere close to Soto. He has a career slash line of 274/353/516/870 with 139 ops+, and Soto is 285/421/532/953 with a 160ops+. Soto has had more walks than strikeouts every year but two, while Tucker has had more strikeouts than walks every year but one, last year when he had two more walks than ks. Offensively Tucker is not even in the same universe. Soto is entering age 26 season, and Tucker his age 28 season. When Tucker becomes a free agent he will be going into his age 29 season. Bottom line is Tucker is not worth 500 mil, he's not even worth half that right now, and after playing his walk year in Wrigley which can be a hitters or pitchers park depending on how the weather, but which in 2024 had a homerun park factor of 85, and where the unpredictable winds can be a nightmare, his numbers could look a lot different than in Minute Maid, which last year had an hr factor of 116.
Tucker is a serious player. I’ve watched him every game. I’d love to keep him but if the Stros were going to sign him, they would have. So getting 3 players is better than getting nothing
I am not happy we lost Cam Smith. I think he will be awesome. Not really sold on Tucker. There will be a gail force wind blowing in during April And May and cold temps. Wrigley doe not have a short porch and banging trash cans. Minute Maid is a warm cozy ball park and Wrigley isnt a hitters park in April and May.
Another garbage owned Chicago team. Cubs owner and McCaskey should get together and go bowling. Both teams aren’t building anything and have no direction preying on loyal naive Chicago fans. Sad but true

300mil is baby money my guy. You gotta start at 500mil for him. His numbers were close to soto and he was better defensively by a mile.
@ my point isn’t what he will sign for.
