I just bought a 07 ZX6r. Switched from a Ninja 250r.
It is uncomfortable in the city but actually quite comfortable on the highway where this bike belongs.

True - I've just taken a 2012 zx6r out today for a test. It is so so fast, if you have less than a couple of years experience go for something more forgiving, seriously.

Best 600 you can get still!. You only go as fast as your throttle hand. If you dont respect it yes you can get in trouble. So respect it and you will be fine. Although if you want a great bike to learn on to have fun on....ninja 250...it may not be as fast but its so light and fun and costs less than half of any 600.
Yes, you should fit it just fine. It is really less about your size and more about your experience and confidence.
The Ninja 636 is by far the best in its class.

The 2013 will be introduced next week. So right now we don't know what the comfort level will be for a 2013. Comfort is relative to what you expect. I think the current ZX6Rs 2009 -2012's are some of the most comfortable 600 supersports ever built. Just depends on what you expect and how long (far) you intend to ride. I can ride mine an hour or two with out much problem. Good question, thanks!
MegaWaxz, I do not recomend 600cc supersport bikes for new riders. The ZX6R is a very fast motorcycle and is not very forgivingif you make a mistake. I would recomedend something less agressive maybe the Ninja 650 or Ninja 250. Thanks for your question!

i have a car license for more than 5 years! I have driven a 125ccm scooter a lot and i know the rules in my country very good! I do have a great respect towards a 600plus bikes. Watching videos and reading about beginner bikes, opinion of others, i am thinking of getting a ninja 250r so i can practice on it.i could get a R1 but i think it is to dangerous for a beginner and not much enjoyable due to not being able to control the bike!
poeple say to get a 250, some say get ninja6. I dont know yet!
I started on a 1000cc bike... if you are a mature person that can control yourself, it's not that bad to start on a 600. Take MSF and read books like Twist of the Wrist 2 and go for the 600cc if you desire.

Trust me its not as bad as you think. It is an fz1 so it's not as fast as an r1, but it's up there.

agree with the uploader!! these bikes are really strange and dangerous for newbies!! dont look just the cc's!!! its not just that!! super sports bikes are behaving really strange in low speeds so in order to be stable you have to run!!!
I started on a zx6r. First bike ever. Now I ride a zx10r. Not that dangerous if you know what you're doing

Yea i guess its not the FIRST time I rode. I rode my bro's sv650 for 3 months. IMO, that bike was harder because throttle was jerky. fz1 has tons of top end though, but I only do that when I am going straight.
@MegaWaxz If you are allowed to ride with full HP and full power I don't recommend any sportsbike at all. These are way too fast for a beginner. You most likely won't be able to handle the power of these bikes, even if it's only a 600cc. In some countries there are restrictions allowing you to ride bikes only at 25kw/34hp for the first 2 years. Which is pretty good in my opinion. They are still pretty fast but you get used to riding a lot better. In my opinion you should look for a "slower" bike

I love how Kawi alway make the 6's look like the previous year 10s. Cant wait until they make the 6 look like the 2011-12 zx10s! :) Than I wouldnt even worry about buying a 10... :)

definetely yeah!! These supersport bikes are best for guys like you but if you are over 6 feet you would look silly on it :P
We would not recomend the ZX6R for a new rider. I would suggest the Ninja 250 or Ninja 650. You know it is not dangerous to ride a motorcycle. It is only dangerous to wreck a motorcycle. You should get training, where protective gear and ride defensivly. Then never stop developing your skills and becoming a better rider. Thanks!

im looking to get a 2013 zx6r within the next few months, however ive been told the zx6r's were uncomfortable, i had a 88 and a 89 and found them comfortable. I will be using as a daily driver. Should i get this zx6r or go with a 650r?

Still the best 600 you can buy. Ergos power performance comfort r6 doesnt come close gsxr600 is just ugly the honda cbr600 is ok but its getting really dated. The kawi zx6r is the 600 to buy. It like all sportbikes just needs a fucking fuel gauge. Why cant they put one in??? 99% of these ride in the street not a track. Great bike superfast. No issues. I just now after 3 yrs have to replace the clutch cable that has never been lubed. Thats it. Prices for all bikes need to drop a $1k. Crazy prices

oh sorry. yea you should not get a 1000cc thats way to powerful to start on. I started on a r6, but i had been racing motocross all my life (currently riding a kx450f) really, you shouldent be starting on any inline four race bike (like a r6 or R1) and you probally dont need the ninja 250r. A parallel twin bike of around 600 cc is probally your best bet (like a ninja 650r or a ER-6n) the difference is a inline 4 is made for a racetrack, not so much the street. and insurance is high on inline 4

You are going to need lowering links or boots with heels. I am 5 feet 6 and its just borderline for me height wise.

That's still far too powerful for someone just beginning to ride a bike. Honestly man, you may be alright so far, but that doesn't mean that everyone should start out on a 600-1000cc bike.
