Thank you! I was really worried I had to get some chickens to control the low speed operation of the engine however I am glad you clarified that. great stuff!
1997 king quad 300 had been sitting 5 years outside. Has 9000km. I put 2 can seafoam in tank plus initially put 1 bottle redline in. Fresh premium gas(no ethanol), after draining out old gas remnants. Didnt want to have to take carb off quad & apart cause very tight fit. The diaphragm & float bowl screw heads looked brand new, never been removed BUT the main jet was loose and sitting in bottom of float bowl! How does that happen if carb never been opened? Tbe only issue I had was wouldn't idle without giving gas. I didn't try turning up idle screw. Wish I had. The carb was actually a lot.cleaner then I thought! Just a little rust in float bowl. The screw holding needle valve is covered in rust and thinking thats.the source. The loose main jet was also plugged up. I'm thinking the seafoam probably cleaned the carb quite a bit. I only ran engine in one place cause all brakes were.seized and binding so wudn move. Have since fixed all 3. Thinking total engine run time of me goosing the throttle has been approximately 10min tops. Havnt been able.to get float out as doesnt want to budge with punch but this video gave me.idea to try side you pried pin on. First carb I've ever taken apart since.disaster 30 years ago when tried to rebuild my cars carb and.F it all up. I've only watched friends work on my stuff but never tackled anything myself tel this project quad. All is good with repairs I've made myself. Thank god for UA-cam! What do you think about that loose main jet-do you think someone has rebuilt carb before? Also quad is in temperate are-rarely gets below 40F here. Nor higher then maximum of 80-85f. Tbe choke cable is totally seized, gonna have to order new. Tried oiling and oil even came out plunger and but seized and womt budge! Used water bottle with synthetic motor oil first and 2nd try. Deep Creep. All other cables totally fine. Thinking choke rarely used on this quad. Good straight forward video, thanks!
Thanks for posting this. Can you give some advice regarding which gaskets should be replaced when you take apart the carburetor? do you use any sealants? cleaning agents? how do you keep it from getting gummed up in the first place? Thanks in advance!
Can i just use gunk carb choke and valve cleaner.to just spay it inside and outside? If yes, do i need to rinse it throughly with water after cleaning? Thx

"the chicken's don't control any speed operation" - the best part of the freakin video lol!!! good tutorial, thanks!
haha humor in everyday life :)
Thanks man for the lesson, very simple but really helpful.
The CV carb is used on many ATVs going up to at least 2012, the Mikuni CV is used on my 2012 Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O. I just recently rebuilt mine.
Good video for basic carb cleaning help'
Thanks

Good job! I think I can tackle it now.
Why not use carb cleaner instead of gas? Thanks!
Thanks, to the point and very useful.
Unfortunately, you need to take the carburetor apart to clean it thoroughly. And don't use water :)
thank you so much(:
Dear lord I forgot how much I hate CV carbs..
