I have a haar strat which I ordered from Erik. Took him 4 months to build. I've played guitars ranging from 100 euros to 4000 euros. I am afraid I haven't gone more than that. Haven't played any vintage instruments either. But from all the guitars I've played the haar is the best one for me.
Best review ever! The unplugged comparison was really cool. It was clear the Haar had more resonance and "harmonic" vibrations. I am looking for a strat, and i was comparing Haar and Maybach. Maybachs have an awesome reputation for les paul type guitars, but their strats look a bit dull to me. Too basic. They sound awesome to my ears but the Haars have that something special, that puts them to a closer level to custom shop fenders IMO.
Your guitar playing is superb and all three sounded great in your hands. The final piece with the Haar was outstanding and I respect your choice. However, for me, the Fender was the one for me. Neither of us is is wrong, but diversity is a great thing, and long may we continue to like different tones, whilst enjoying the same music. All in all a great video, on many levels, and thank you for that.
Thx mate! Every single guitar of the three was great. There would not have been any wrong choices. The Haar just had a few percent more for me to offer.
All 3 guitars sound great to me, because of your excellent and emotional playing, Sir. But only the Haar created goose bumps on my arms. Incredible sound with quite some character. The Maybach sounds very nice too and the Fender spoke least to me. Is the Haar equipped with Amber or Kloppmann pickups?
Well after watching this video and others of Haar Teles like 1000 times, I made my decision of ordering one of them. The guitar was ok, however found also disadvantages. The neck shape was not so comfortable for me, and somehow the bridge pick up didn't sound like I was expecting. I am sending it back :(.
well, little update for my last review, I went to a shop and played another Haar Guitar and played/sounded pretty well, it felt quite better the one I ordered. The neck shape still being a C one, however it felt different.
you play amazing. I have seen your video a thousand times. I'm like you between Maybach and Haar. I want to ask to have it built. What made you buy the Haar? the objective factor. thanks!
Thx mate! It was everything but an objective decision. Objectively there wasn´t any difference qualitywise. Subjectively the Haar just felt better in my hands :-)
@@jomitie I love your answer. I live in Galicia (spain) and I want to buy one. I have no chance to touch them before. I'll order it from the factory. @@jomitie Actually the dry comparison reaveals A LOT and kudos for doing it. Most people won't, and I always like a guitar that sings unplugged. Hey, very nice video! Would you mind saying something about what the decisive factors for you were? Tried a Haar and a Maybach the other day and liked them both... but I think the Haar I tried had a very flat radius which felt unfamiliar to me. Maybach maybe a little more traditional?
1. The neck really feels great 2. The weight is around 3 kg, i guess (Edit: 2,97 kg!!!) 3. The body (one piece swamp ash) is resonating very rich an warm. It sounds really awesome 4. The frets are perfect (Jescar 55090) 5. The Bareknuckle PUs are fantastic.
mapleneck and tele is the match, otherside sounds like custom made guitars and fender sounds most like fender little more slinky with more chang a lang i would prefer
I cannot compare haar with the other two, but regarding the RW guitars I'm amazed how better the maybach sounds. On the other hand you cannot compare a production guitar with a handmade guitar About haar it's an awesome manufacturer, but they make their guitars a bit too relic for me. I wish they did some light relicing or no relicing at all

The best sounding one unplugged is the Fender. In order to preserve the unplugged tone while amplified, remove the tone knob.
I found it the worst sounding unplugged actually. I thought the haar was the best and the maybach a close second
@@topografer That´s exactly what i thought.
I also found the Haar to have the fullest unplugged sound. Fender sounded more "nasaly". However it doesn't seem to transport to amplified sound.

Soundqualitywise they were kind of on the same level. But the feeling of the Haar is definitely outstanding.
I didn’t expect this but the Maybach tone has more body than the fender. This is obvious in the lead tone.
Yes, both the Maybach and the Haar have more body. You can hear that even in the dry comparison.

Haar guitars are PLEK’d. That makes the difference in playability. Do you agree?
I don't. But it can make a difference if your guitar is not built that well. But a nicely built guitar can be as good as a plek'd one.
