That you saw 1600mhz is mhz of speed, 1600mhz + 1600mhz = 3200mhz of ram. Not GPU clock.

It´s certainly better than 8, but not really worth it. The price gap between a 8gb stick and a 4gb one isn´t that high, and you´ll get a way better performance with 2 8gb sticks due to dual channel
