Great video, and you have informed me that I'm never changing my kick speakers! LOL
lol I did mine in my 2022 . I'm happy with the finished product . But it was a pain in my A$$ !!!!!!
This is one of those videos that makes me question if some of these upgrades are worth it lol.
More content. I like seeing different options for mods and stuff. Some are definitely not for me, but that’s ok.
Thanks so much for making this video! Had to get into my dash, 12V lighter and hazard button area, to find three wires for my dashcam. This video saved me a LOT of grief and no doubt some broken clips/pieces from not knowing where all those screws were. Great job 👍
Glad it helped!
I just want to say thanks. This video helped a lot. I now have remote start and the start stop eliminator. This saved me a ton of time and a few broken parts.😀
Awesome vid, Matt, and thank you for showing my Jeep at 14:30 ❤
What a perfectly timed vid, was trying to figure out how to get behind the dash to run some accessory power just this morning! Got as far as loosing two of my defroster vent clips somewhere in the bowls of the dash (they stayed in the holes and when I tried to retrieve them they fell in). 😢. Thank you for posting this! The only other ‘24 dash disassembly video I’ve found so far was a, well, to put it kindly, not as good….. anyway, now I know I didn’t even have to pull that piece out!
Going to tuck this one away… I know I will need it one day! I graciously thank you for all your work for us!
I’ve been looking for a dash removal video like this to install the outlet on my Gladiator bed, great video 👍🏽
Great tutorial! I’d be interested to see if you could rip the cloth off and prime and paint the dash like the old style. A guy that swapped the cloth said it didn’t look possible with the way the plastic was behind the cloth but I’d like to find out myself 🤔
So glad I got a Rubi X that has the mostly decent alpine system in it. Hopefully holds me over before I think I need to do the dash speakers
When you guys take that stuff apart - wow! Nice video- that’s for this one!
Very helpful for me to get an idea of what's lurking behind the dash / what I can/can't do! For that top part that has the small tray, is there any reason for that middle part not being part of a larger tray? Is it to help with the cooling of the uconnect brains or anything like that? Thinking of mounting a usb recepticle in that spot so I can power my mounted devices
Super informative! I was curious if i could make the uconnect 5 fit in a 2023. Unfortunately it looks like that will not be the case. Not without extreme modifications.
Why would you? I have uconnect 5 in my and would love new style
If it goes in at the factory in one piece. Why do you have to disassemble it to take it out?
Thanks for sharing this. Saved for later in case of need.
Excellent video! I'm considering an audio upgrade on my 2024, this will be very helpful.
Thank you for this!
Matt, can you tell me what the white-ish part of the dash is made of? Is it a fabric material? And how has it held up to dirt/dust over time?
since you have been adding so much to this base model .. do you know if its possible to take a non heated steering wheel ordered from Jeep and make it heated like it was ordered that way ?
Thanks great video! I am always afraid that I am breaking something when I pull the panels off!!
Are one of the plugins on the back of the head unit for the Sirius/XM antenna?
Great Video.I just purchased a Special Ordered 2024 Jeep Wrangler RubiconX that the dealer had ordered for himself. I was just looking and it was just brought in for the showroom. I ended up buying it that day. Here's my question? Any idea if any company you know has designed a replacement top piece you removed. There's two empty sections and a large buldge in the middle. You removed that entire section. Like to get a replacement! Thansk John
Since you guys had the dash apart, are you by chance able to advise on how the ac vents come out? Were they screwed in on the back side? Hoping to de-chrome the dash but not sure I want to tear it all apart just to do so.
Am I replace the passenger handlebar of the 2024 by the old style one? That includes the section of the push start button, it was so much simpler to open the day before to install accessories buttons
So now its apart what upgrades are going in?
It’s almost like Stellantis/Jeep don’t want people swapping speakers 😂
More like this
A) what speakers are you putting in and
B) where did you get that badass steering wheel? My 2024 JLURX has a round one

Thinking of changing out the instrument panel fabric pieces so this video is perfect timing. After watching this… I think I’ll just pay someone to do it for me lol
Would love to see the end result if you do
Any chance you found any plugs for a trail cam install back there? Mine didn’t come factory and all the forum posts I’ve found are pre-2024
Oh man, I watched the whole thing and it was as stressful as watching a suspense movie!!! Two thoughts were recurrent.. 1/ are they gonna find an alien life form in there? 2/ I hope they have another car in case they need to run some errands because that things is not going to be done today.. hahahaha... 😂😂😂
😂
This a GREAT video. But WOW, this seems like a task.
It was lol
Stupid question, have you done one for the 2023 JL?
Is it this much work to change the kick speakers on a 2023?
lol yes
Really unfortunate to have to do this much work to change out those speakers! But I’ll probably do it cause the stock ones are garbage..
What was the reason for removing Ryan's dash
We’re upgrading the audio
Just did all the speakers on my Jeep. Was painful to get the dash apart.
This is a much better video than from the guy with 20 ring fingers.
I actually debated putting on some more jewelry for this one 🤣
@@DIRTROADCRED Haha - you know which guy I am talking about. Quick question, do you know which speaker should I tap the inputs for my 2024 Wrangler amp setup - I mean which one has full range ?
Is It possible to upgrade 2022 to 2024's new one?
Nope
Why though?
Yet again I’m thankful I have a 2021. That dash plastic looks flimsy as hell.
I'd love to see what connections there are on the backside of the brain for installing a trail camera; getting to that doesn't seem as scary or annoying as removing the rest!
Any chance you’ve found out anymore about this? I want find a way to get the oem one so bad!
@@KeoniGlory I've found the parts on the Mopar site but I didn't know if there's anything that would be required like flashing it
I still can’t get over the fact they thought light colored fabric was a good idea for the dash
Ship of Theseus
💯
Yay, philosophy!
I'm sure there won't be one rattle after assembly...:(
I’ve found that putting felt electrical tape on those push clips especially the metal ones quiets the creaking. Particularly on the upper dash piece that feels like it’s breaking when you first pull it off. I found that to be the typical major source of creaking in all the JLs I’ve had
Good idea
I think the factory speakers would just have to stay in there
Day 12 asking Jeep to bring back Mango Tango Pearl.
Well, that certainly is a choice. Hmm.
Guess you forgot jku
Why would I need a dash lol
I would to this add sound deadening material, clean wires from mods such
As walkie talkies, removing panels to paint…etc
All that just to get to the speakers….WTH
So, you really just took that dash apart just to show the UA-cam world how to? 🤔
Yeah, that and we added upgraded audio for a future video
Why?
