Watch the actual 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season Animation here! ► • 2020 Atlantic Hurrican...
Do you ever ask yourself what would have happened if the computer models were right with their more outlandish predictions? The 2020 What-might-have-been Atlantic Hurricane Season Animation is the next in our yearly series which shows you what might have been if those models got it right! Despite how outlandish some of the storms and hurricanes in this video may seem, real computer models, forecasted all of these at one point in time! Fortunately, most did not actually come to fruition, but this video depicts what could have been if those models were somehow correct.

PREVIEW OF 2021 WMHB
2021's naming list was first used in 1979, when David and Frederic were retired for devastating the Carribean and the U.S. Gulf Coast. They were replaced with Danny and Fabian in 1985. That year also saw two familiar retirees, Elena and Gloria, replaced with Erika and Grace for the 1991 season. That season was fairly inactive, with just Claudette being retired after striking New England as a category 2, replaced with Charlotte for 1997. No storms were retired that year, so the same list was used again for 2003. That year saw four retired names: Henri striking Georgia as a category 3, Isabel damaging northwestern Cuba as a category 2, Juan, a category 4, striking Bermuda before moving towards the northeast, and Mindy, a category 5 that stalled north of the Antilles before damaging the East Coast as a category 3. They were replaced with Herbert, Ida, Joaquin, and Minnie for 2009. That year, in comparison, was fairly sedate, with only Sam being retired. It was replaced with Scott for 2015. That year was fairly active with 2 storms getting the boot, Rose, damaging the Bahamas as a category 4 before moving towards North Carolina, and Wanda making landfall in Mexico before crossing into the Pacific and becoming a monsterous category 5 and smashing western Mexico before going back into the Gulf of Mexico. They were replaced with Ruby and Wynne.
Meaning that the 2021 list has been lined up:
Ana
Bob
Charlotte
Danny
Erika
Fabian
Grace
Herbert
Ida
Joaquin
Kate
Larry
Minnie
Nicholas
Odette
Peter
Ruby
Scott
Teresa
Victor
Wynne

I remember finding a hurricane on one of the fandoms that traveled through the sahara desert and crossed the equator into the freaking south atlantic before becoming a category 5

YOU WERE RIGHT
Everyone’s expectations are way too high - the wmhb and irl situations were switched this year lol
Not quite. At one point, the models were predicting a storm the size of Sandy to bash into Florida as a major hurricane.
Incorrect. We know that the conventional alphabet was exhausted at irl Laura.
W h a t
For reference the above comment was made before the premier but wow was it wrong lol
This will be terrifying. I hope Thomas didn’t animate this one.
Spoilers he did
*He did*
He didnt, they used the GFS instead which is even more drunk
*@@clash4893Ok*
If this had been done by Thomas, we would've gone into the Hebrew Alphabet. However, since the last storm was Omega, I say that Marcel made this.
Great Video! I Knew we would hit Omega. Lol it was hard to catch up with the storms.
I live in South Florida and honestly the worst hurricane season I’ve had in my 28 years of life was the 2004 season, We had Charley, Frances and Jeanne with Frances and Jeanne hitting my hometown head on with in 3 weeks of each other. Frances was a Cat 4 but died down to a 2 when it went over us then Jeanne was a 3. We also had Wilma in 2005 but was a Category 1 by the time in reached us. Matthew and Irma gave us Category 1 stuff and amazingly Dorian gave us Tropical Storm weather. 2006-2015 saw no hurricanes which is crazy
I kind of feel like this past hurricane season was kind of like 2004 except instead of Florida getting hammered, it was the gulf coast. Laura, Sally, Delta, and Zeta are comparable to Charley, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne
Laura - Isaias
Paloma - Laura
Rene - Marco
Wilfred - Paulette

Lili hit Louisiana as a category 4 and got retired. It got replaced with Laura that also hit Louisiana as a category 4

Wilfred, Teddy, Vicky 5:23 they scared so they run away
