This song is a classic example of what is meant by timeless music. It is now 30 years old but it sounds like it could have been written yesterday. You could listen to it again 30 years from now and it'll sound like it could've been written the day before. And Jim Cuddy on vocals.....whoa. The guy has such an incredible and soulful voice.
Couldn't agree more I'm 3r grew up listening to blue rodeo, my moms loves them too... seen in concert multiple times... I absolutely love them... this song gives me the feels every single time
I was there, in Iqaluit 1989. It was during a drug awareness week...they got pinched getting off the plane by a sniffer dog..lol..= free concert! Good times and great video that brings back memories!
GR8 STORY . . . Wonderful Video for One of Canada's FINEST BANDS and Songwriters. SURPRISED that BLUE RODEO are Still "A SECRET" in Many Countries outside Their Native Canada... AREN'T You Surprised TOO ? ? ? They're SO AWESOME LIVE in Concert, if you Get The Chance. TRULY ! ! ! ❤ 😂
I saw them for the first time about 8th months ago @ Ottawa's Bluesfest. I've been to hundreds of concerts and I'd pay to see these guys 20 more times!!!! Incredibly talented.
This still brings a tear to my eye. Reminds me of the lover that got away. My sister worked at Sunrise records back in the nineties and gave me this song on a single ( one song) cassette. I was more into rap and rnb but this song touched me and have always loved it. Amazing artist. Always great music. How can one song make you feel so many things 😢😊
I remember the college lunch room joining in for you-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo. On Friday I'm seeing them live! LOVE Try and Five Days in May the best, but they're all pretty great. Jim Cuddy has one of the best voices out there.
takes a while for the soul of the music to sink in ! first you have just sit back and feel the lyrics and let them sink in to your consciousness. music is different these days its hard to find songs like this or bands for that matter.
Absolutely haunting melody I forgot how amazing this song is thanx for bringing it back ,saw this song in a nightclub the girls went crazy great show ! Proud to be Canadian
"Went Crazy"? Well... Love to Meet them! BLUE RODEO's Keeler and Cuddy are Iconic Storytellers, Songwriters, Vocalists and, YES... Canadian Musicians!!! ❤ 😂
Basil and me remained friends for many years after the “5 Days in May” tour. Dead Hot Workshop was thrown out of the club first show. Birchmere Ballroom. No talking between songs! They immediately knew we were trouble. But however we loved them and became friends. Basil actually left the tour bus to ride with us in our van. What a great dude. Love these guys.
Just for me I'm recording this beautiful song with my very talented musician during this pandemic, I have only this song work on, at a distance my guitarist was empress with Mr. Greg Keeler, love you guys, can't wait to see you on the other side ❣🇨🇦🍁
Holy this takes me back back in diapers lol love music like this a play them and sing them to my babies. I'll never stop playing music even when I'm old n gray I'll sing this to all my grandbabies and great grand babies❤❤❤❤
Just sen them in concert with m girlfriend that's getting on in age and this was on her bucket list WE DID IT! WE DIDIT!! RIGHT AFTER MY BIRTHDAY AUG 22 AT THE PNE FAIRGROUNDS IN VANCOUVER, B C. THANKS MARIE NORDENHAGEN MY DEAR SCOTTISH FRIEND
It's my favorite blue rodeo song with a girlfriend of mine I grew up with my whole life just when I was getting married and my last base was gonna BE the same as hers. BROWN...LOL THEN YEARS LATER I HAD A LITTLE GIRL WITH THIS GUY NAMED GEORGE I COLLECT BLACK AND WHITE PICTURES OF LITTLE BOY AND GIRL PICS BY KIM ANDERSON'S BUT YHEN STARTED COLLECTING ANY BLACK AND WHITES WITH COUPLES IN THEM. . I WENT TO A THRIFT STORE AND SEEN A PICTURE OF A COUPLE UNDER AN UMBRELLA AND THE PICTURE." READ "AFTER THE RAI N." BUT ON THE BACK IT SAID LOVE ALWAYS GEORGE. CRAZY RIGHT!!
Blue Rodeo's music just touches me. It's real. It's emotional. It's nostalgic. It's poetry. It's melodic. It's expertly arranged and performed. I just recorded this song and posted a video and would love your feedback!
This video reminds me a great deal of Throwing It All Away by Genesis. The lyrics are too sad to try to craft a visual of, so they do a tour diary instead.
i wish for bob wiseman the keyboard player to one day join them again...this was filmed in north west territories. greg keeler was caught with pot..and i do believe charged...lol

Leave it to Blue Rodeo, a Canadian band, to define modern Americana music.

You can now see blue rodeo's soundman in this video. He killed a man.. then ran to Niagara hotel and killed himself
Blue Rodeo is much better without Bob Wiseman. He was a flake.
