Capitalism _as an economic theory_ requires _enforcing_ (as in, with a force monopoly) unilateral control of the means of production by individuals or small groups of people, which is inherently authoritarian, because if you control access to the means of production, you control the terms of society. Contrary to what you say, there is literally no way to make a "free market" society that is _not_ inherently authoritarian. The only way to make a society that optimizes individual freedom is to democratize control over the means of production. Ironically enough, the Libertarian philosophy (originally an outgrowth of socialist thought, since coopted by Neoliberals) requires socialism to come to any sort of fruition, because the instant someone has unilateral control over resources, they have the power to assert political control over society, which should be obvious to anyone who thinks about it for even a little bit.
