Once we dreamed of conquering space, terraforming planets unfit for life, planting apples on Mars, and establishing contacts with unearthly civilizations ... And now we have a post-apocalypse and cyberpunk, where we fumble in the garbage of a once great civilization. Give us back the normal fiction!
I fully agree, never liked post-apocalyptic stories, and most scifi lacks creativity. But the thing is, I think CGI still don't look as good to make more surreal ones. But I hope we will see some soon.Maybe they should try to use these realistic looking paintings(like the one used in this mix)and animate them.Or just use small models, and animatronics, like in the old days, and add some tricks to make them look real.
Terraforming takes Centuries, Interstellar Space Travel takes Near Centuries (just getting to Mars [Inter-Solar Space Travel?] takes Half a Year). We'll be lucky to survive this one, with Nuclear war back on the table (not the case back when you made the comment, but nonetheless). I know we've romanticized space travel in sci-fi literature, matter of fact, it's the health problems faced by humans in zero gravity that led to the concept of a cyborg, a human engineered for space-fare, according to Isaac Arthur. But as Thunderf00t pointed out about Musk's mission to Mars, there is nothing romantic about spending the next several years, if not the rest of your life, in a tin can, on a hostile planet environment, that needs constant babysitting to remain functional. Every. Single. Day. Like living aboard a submarine, only outside the porthole everything is red, and the nearest help is 6 months out at best. And that is to say nothing of the absurd costs of launching something into orbit currently, Earth's gravity well is no joke, 26 times the speed of sound is an insanely high speed, and the fuel it takes to get there is immense. Isaac Arthur explores some interesting alternatives to Rockets in getting into space, but more or less, until we have something much more efficient than rockets, outer space will remain something we use sparingly. - I too used to be a space junkie, my username is based off of a spaceship from EV Nova, still my favorite game to this day, but the more I learned through Isaac Arthur's channel, the more I began to see that, the various dramas we as human beings have painted over the cosmos is... beautiful still... but very much oversimplified. Our future is out there eventually, maybe we can get a team of humans (or just their brains and their support mechanisms) out to handle the more complex tasks on Mars, where signal lag between us and them is 5 minutes minimum (making remote control operation impossible, hence why all our rovers currently run off of pre-programmed scripts), but I still think we have several more decades of autonomous vehicle activity due there before we're ready to send even that. We were considering sending a primitive 3-D printing mechanism, back around 2017 I think, that could sculpt using the dirt on mars to create simple structures that could later be used to house larger, more complex machines (that we send), eventually until we have machines there that can build machines from material that is available there, effectively running a scripted factory of sorts, that'll begin preparing the planet with equipment and materials for human occupation, though not so much as a place our civilization will spread to so much as make use of the resources there. Eventually, Mars might become independent of Earth, but in all likelihood, that's centuries away. If you liked the idea of an automated factory though, I'd highly recommend giving Mindustry a try, game is both, fascinating, and eye opening as a concept, much more likely the next stage in our evolution than Cyberpunk, or rather the stage that'll take over once we've lost all interest in the human form. - Not to say that Cyberpunk doesn't have its own fair share of flaws, most certainly there are oversimplifications, but even though our fascination of it is in some senses overblown, it touches on some genuinely promising concepts. The ability for everyone to have photographic memory, for instance (though until we've found a way to properly wire it to the brain, it will effectively just be a smartphone that's worn on or inside of your face unfortunately), AI controlled lightning reflexes (so as not to depend on the time it takes for the conscious mind to process a task, though this can backfire), being able to put yourself on literal autopilot (a few Macros ought to do the trick) while you go problem solve the more complex parts of the task you're working on, machine level accuracy with your handiwork, being able to see out the back of your neck, to name a few.

Some Synthwave is really overly repetitive and goes on forever, This mix is none of that. The artwork brought me, the music kept me.
exactly
I think it depends how you define what is repetitive. what length you consider as repetitive.
Joshua Venne te music brought me. hehe sorry i mean just shuffling around but like the title

Sophie Turner brought me here too! Hahaha
