I had a DNA test did and it said I was Nigerian... Now I'm finding out that name was just given to all of the tribes... So my question would be how do I know if I may be a Igbo... Not from one of the other tribes, why doesn't the DNA test tell me that it just say Nigerian... And if the same people live far apart for a long time, their language will also start changing. All Igbos have different dialects and most of them don’t understand themselves, but they have official language that most of them understand, and that language was promoted by the British.

According to my knowledge and understanding of the Igbo origin as someone with an Igbo name.
The Igbo tribes of Nigeria have 3 origins. (1) Ancient Kemet (Greek colonial name Egypt)
(2) More ancient migrations into West Africa before the end of the last ice age about 25,000 years ago (for those of them who claimed that they were created in Nigeria by Chineke (God the creator)
(3) The last wave of ancient Igbo migrations came from ancient biblical Israel (they are the youngest Igbo Hebrews)
