OMG as a Northeast Realtor this is a place I could see coming down to visit for 3 days. Looks so clean and tranquil, thank you for sharing and I thought your coverage was fabu. I need to plan a getaway!!!
So my friend and I were looking up some stuff about Rocky point because we never been and of course Google brought me to this video! Haha Shannon you are everywhere!
@@eltigreplacoso2188 i drove first from El Paso to Tucson, slept there and then to Puerto Peñasco. In total was 9 hours driving. I drove non stop on my way back.
When I lived in Tucson and friends from Nevada came visiting we Head to Porto Pinasco ( Arizona Beach ) went along water front and found a Fishing boat. You can rent a pango or a bigger boat. We did both. We caught fish. And had great boat rides. Shrimping boats would sell you shrimp right of the Boats for 5 gallon buckets $1.00. Rocky Point has grown big when I was there.
los palomas has been my favorite stay (twice) and second best was the Esmeralda penthouse (crazy, once) three years ago and the construction on it is still not finished, today. Esmeralda is quiet/ dead, where Los Palomas is poppin and social.
Thank you for sharing this awesome information on Puerto Penasco! I am actually hoping to stay there middle of June until the end of July. I am hoping to find a Spanish immersion class and would really love to find a homestay option. Love the great info you shared.
I took a emergency class and found the students All had pervious Spanish in college or highschool. . So It wasn't good for me. Then I did take class Quartzite ,AZ. But never got back to Rocky Pinasco .
Nice job! I'm interested in taking my family with similar age boys there in the near future. Thank you so much for doing this video! It really helps! Was also wondering if you or anyone else could comment on how hot it gets there in July and August as I would be trying to escape the Phoenix heat and hope it wouldn't be too hot down there as well at that time.. I think the worst might be around 95°? Any comments from anybody who knows would be greatly appreciated 😉
Have you went recently? I want to go this December but my family is freaking out saying it’s not safe: they haven’t even been! They just hear the news about Tijuana.
Thanks for the information, my only concern was safety. I'm looking for something less tourist'y though. Fishing in the morning, kids on the beach during the day, and getting drunk on the beach at night. It's been over 20 years
I am from Mexico, and my country is safe , never carry to much money and if is possible in low currencys and low bank notes . Don t stay to far from the touristic area .
Nope. I crossed the US/Mexico border over a decade ago with just a driver's license and the border guard informed me that was being phased out even way back then (and that passports are necessary).
Haha, that's what I was thinking! Although it seems like the bare minimum for a decent hotels these days is $100+, so for a family that would probably get 2 rooms, and the fact that this place is right on the water in a nice tropical location, maybe $300 is a bit more bearable.
They have multiple bedrooms, baths and a kitchen - would you you squeeze 7 of you in a single hotel room? You are supposed to split the cost with another couple.
There are plenty of affordable places she overpays big time. I used to live in Las Palmas. Monthly rent isn't much more FYI. If you don't barter it's on you. Over in the fish market you can stay at one of Al Capone's old brothels. For only like 10 bucks a night. It's pretty close to all the bars. Spring break is a good time to be there.
Great information provided, but a little tip when video recording...you're panning too fast! Hard to keep up with what you are trying to show us, made me dizzy, but for the most part...good content.
It's best to only drink bottled water/drinks, and in particular, I was once advised by some Mexican coworkers while I was down there taking care of some IT issues at their plant not to eat the lettuce, particularly from roadside vendors. (Because it's often contaminated with untreated human waste, though I don't recall if it was intentional fertilizer or inadvertently with contaminated ground water.)
It is busy when Arizona school is out (spring break, summer) and also Mexican Holidays however we have been there during school breaks and it's never too crowded at Las Palomas.
@@shannon_gillette Oh, it seems like most videos don't really have anybody on the beach at all. Is it mainly local pple, or a lot more like you said when AZ pple show up? I've been wanting to go down there from Vegas, but hate to go all that way and not be anybody there.
Always safety for the the way over exaggerator report come out of the U.S. news media of how dangerous Mexico is???? and these people live in the U.S., I don't get it
Why do you people insist on changing the name? It's named "Puerto Peñiasco" NOT rocky point! It's also starting to be CHEAPER to stay in the States than go here with all the condos they've built and monopolized all the restaurants! Prices are getting out of hand.
@@jahunsaker i lived in Mexico for 8 years and know how it is. I wouldn’t make an statement in youtube that mexico is safe... good video. If i was in phoenix i would just drive to San Diego ;)

Thank you for the good suggestions headed to Puerto peñasco tomorrow family vacation and staying at Las Palomas Resort
That’s awesome! Have fun!!
