Just picked one up based off this review. Did the exact same set up here and it works like a charm. The ol Doyle’s Gear Hoist is about to get relegated to tree stand duty.

You don't need to open the outer flange to pull cord off. Just make sure the mounting cord allows the spool to rotate. Opening the outer flange makes it much more likely that the cord will tangle.
