So he was born in 1926 and this is from 1985, so he was 59 when making this. Unbelievable!! Absolutely amazing Stanley Baxter. Thank you for this legacy of your work. I have always admired your unique talent.
Can't believe I've finally found this episode! Was 11 when this first aired! Think of Stanley every time I clean my teeth because of his 'Squeeze me at the bottom and not the top' toothpaste routine towards the end of this! Many thanks for posting it!

John Birt axed the shows at LWT as he thought they cost too much money. Michael Grade moved to BBC and took Stanley with him for Xmas specials in 85 and 86. Then sadly John Birt replaced Grade at the Beeb and sacked Baxter again.
It's always puzzled me that so, SO many actors/comedians (and even men in the non-theatrical arena) through the years have gotten off on playing women - it's not funny, THEY'RE not funny doing it, and so it seems strange that it's such an obsession for them.
