- In this episode we haul out for another season working on the boat, explain our goals for the summer, take off the plastic coverings, do some shopping, and more.

Join us as we continue our journey rebuilding a BC Ferries Lifeboat (similar to a TELB) into a tiny house on the water. With electric propulsion, loads of solar, and many innovations to come, Luja will be a cozy, comfortable tiny home on the water.
Nice to you back on UA-cam
I've been waiting so long for the next episode. 😊👍👍
Great to have a video!
Welcome back☺️☺️
Thank you! 😃
Yay you are back!!!
Great to see this update show up in my subs listing.
Missed your vids. Glad you're back with new updates!
More to come! Thanks for watching :)
Good to see you back 🙏
Thanks!
Welcome back
the new color and that new starboard window on the stern look great!
Thanks!
Great to see you back in action with another video!! Looking forward to the next one :)
More to come!
Welcome back. I see other boaters when building their chain lockers. They have some sort of hole to drain the water from the chain when it comes in. I have seen the mess water makes of the chain when that hole is plugged
Thanks! I am putting two holes at the bottom of the chain locker. I will slope the “floor” of the locker so any water exits via the holes. I’m not sure if I can do much about dirt clogging the holes except making sure to do regular maintenance but when I get to that I will definitely do a bunch more research!
Love your synergie in the videos!
miss you guys! - chris from singapore
We miss you!
cool
Hey I bet you could build a electricpower pod for the dingy with a cheaper electric minkota from walmart or somewhere like that. I had one that was 24vdc but had 65lbs thrust..
We used to have the ocean minkota, the Torqeedo is way way more powerful but yes it is more expensive for sure!
It has been interesting to binge watch your journey. FYI, episode 9 is missing from the playlist
Thanks! We will fix that.
9:15 you just bought yourself a junk company motor because they are knowing have weaker cable if that cable get little twist it broken and it never work aging and good luck trying reaching out to them because they will denied anything you throw at them
i have seen 40 youtuber on boat have big problems with that electric motor cable broken and hard to install else so they went on bought them self something better than that company sell
just letting you know that machine can catch on fire if you overloaded it it not make push 5000lb boat
switching from diesels to electric have you forgotten that you going need 300hp in order move it on it own power
Hey thanks for watching, we have had no issues with our motor cable so I can’t comment to that… I can comment to the fact that this is for our dinghy not the lifeboat…
Also I’m guessing you don’t know very much about displacement boats, they take very little HP to push them at hull speed. This lifeboat had a 36 HP diesel engine that we replaced. Our actual electric motor which hasn’t been shown on UA-cam yet has enough power for a vessel twice as large as us.
The only reason you would need a 300 HP engine for a boat this size is if it was a boat that could get on the plane and our boat can’t ever do that due to how it’s hull is designed.
@@LivingOnALifeboat i hear ya i was pointing out about storms if dont have enough HP you may not get out of storm or get sucked into island of rock else that what i was wondering about for safe get thur it without having storm drag you away
i understand it can be dangerous it come out of nowhere
and there was few over here that switched to electric and hurricane was almost here they left and later on they were pick up by life gauge helicopter because they cant get far enough without backup engine or sailors just let you know
i know you aint only one doing projects on lifeboat but there other guy doing it too and he using diesel engine wondering on miles how far get out of dangerous on how much fuel it take to make it from a to b
if you wondering about adding sailors on lifeboat you going need make floor more heavy that way keep balance in middle and add 10ft taller sailors just get you going whiles solar panels charge battery if you worrying not fast enough u can add one on side that fold in and unfold out wide just using rope pull it up give you enough watt
or
could use two trolls motor that fold on side of boat and unfold it off side of boat into water run on 24voltdc get going or something turn around like 360 else easy pull up or roll it down just tips n helpfully information
I thought you gave up on this life boat project . Just information if you don't put out a video regularly the algorithms don't permote you and you can't grow your channel . And people unsubscribe to your channel because nothing happening .just some fyi .
Well i think their project is to live in a lifeboat not to entertain as many people as possible with youtube videos..
@@bjarnecollet1807 just passing on information .
March 2021 to November 2022 is 20 months. 20 Months to release a video on UA-cam is horrific - nobody cares about incremental progress when you release videos so far apart. Perhaps you should give up on this channel, because videos this infrequent offer little to no value for your viewers - if they even bother to continue to follow you (I know I won't). Also, be careful putting so much weight up high on the boat. I know you're replacing the weight of nonexistent passengers, but weight up high like that will cause stability problems (passengers sit on or below the waterline in a lifeboat). Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for your opinion, unfortunately life got in the way of posting UA-cam videos. We hope to be able to post more regularly going forward. The life boat is very different from where we are in the videos and I’m excited to share the videos in the future.
