@@blake7587 can you blame him for wanting to reap the rewards of his hard work through some monetary gain? Not to mention, he uploaded all of these old episodes in the height of the pandemic, an extremely smart move from a business perspective. He knew people were cooped up in their homes and spending a lot of time watching UA-cam and other media. A lot of people hadn’t seen this content since it aired on television, and he gave them something to look forward to each week in the form of another episode being uploaded to his channel. I was always amazed by how you could survive out in every environment with only a camera and maybe a few tools.
It taught me that if something bad were to ever happen or if I was stuck in a situation like that, I'd know what to do and hope panic wouldn't catch me first, which me being a girl, it might, but hopefully I'd know what to do.

When you realize that Les is literally completely ALONE out there, it just blows your mind! Unlike other supposed survivalists, Les has no film crew, no one to save him, doctor him or fly him out in an emergency. He does phenomenal video work and he works hard to get those shots that make the show as cool as it is.. He has to set his camara up to get the shots of himself walking away and doing his thing and then hike all the way back and retrieve that camera and do it all over again and again.. Just incredible work Les! You are my hero to this day! Thank you for all the hard work you've done.. surviving everywhere and for being the humble, top notch *world class* videographer you are!! ❤️💯📽️👀🙆‍♀️

I think the thing I learned the most out of this episode is how AWESOME the saw is on a Swiss Army knife. I have one just like it and I've taken mine for granted. That little saw did a ton of work there. I know that Swiss Army Knives have a decent reputation but this video took it to another level. The one I have also has a little magnifying glass as one of the tools. I've never tried to start a fire with it but now I want to give it a try.
It's fun to see how far less has come from the humble beginnings of the 1st episode. It doesn't seem that long ago but time flies. Thanks for allowing us to see your journey Les! I've learned a lot from all your adventures!

Man, the song that plays from 2:13 to 3:04 is seriously beautiful! Thanks again, Peter Cliche! I don't think the music he made for these shows can get much more perfect... like, seriously, it's amazing...

Loved your humor in this. I take it the network was not a fan. It adds the human aspect as well humility. 10.5 hrs to start a fire points out that even the skilled have real challenges to overcome. Thanks Les.

I love Les, my family used to say “if we ever hit the lotto, then we’ll pay Survivorman for an exclusive adventure with the legend himself.” He is someone I still watch to this day.
Thank you Les, for your hard work and your dedication.

A big thank you to Les for uploading the high-res versions of these two proof-of-concept pilot episodes ! :-) I enjoyed watching the low-res version of the duo already a year ago, and I really wasn't expecting we'd be getting a high-res version as well. :-) Thanks, Les !

I love right off the bat you coined the term man vs wild in the first minute or so of the video, which that other guy used for his interesting fiction of a show lol. You truly were THE pioneer and I thank you for everything you have done!

God I wish these videos and your channel have more views and subs. I was completely enamored with your show growing up. I really appreciated your realistic approach and advice. Your videos evoke the feeling of reading my favorite childhood book series, the first of which was titled the hatchet. I've never attempted to challenge myself by spending anytime out in bush country without safety nets, but I have attempted to practice skills you demonstrated. It's tough, and I am humbled. Your videos were also a welcome escape on deployment (thanks youtube premium for letting me download tons of videos) when I wanted to forget I was surrounded by endless metal. Hope you keep up this fantastic journey. I'll be watching.

A very interesting concept you could do is to critique your own methods of your earlier season. You have gained so much knowledge over the years and it could be an awesome learning journey for us viewers. I would rewatch every episode with extra commentary from you in the background. I feel like you have a different view of survival in the wilds now versus season 1
