When I was a kid I accidentally played disc 11 and I got so scared I locked myself in the bathroom for 30 minutes
Cool
Cool
My brother and I used to play disc 11 to scare each other lol
Relatable
I feel you bro
6:10 The hiss from the creeper is the player noticing there is a creeper behind it and sprinting away barely escaping, that’s why the explosion is farther away than the hiss.
Maybe, but the explosion sounds too far away for even that. They'd have to change their height for that, which could only be done fast enough with minecarts (I think that weren't added by then) or jumping from a high platform (they land in water later than physically possible even jumping from Y255 I think, much less somewhere in a cave)
That definitely is a point I missed though, so I appreciate you pointing it out!
Its a enderman bro
@@mcbyt it's the old explosion sound from the alpha days of minecraft
@@gabrielhenshaw6127 It sounds similar, but not quite the same
@@evilofdoom_number2146 not enderman
I think the biggest takeaway from these discs is that there were other humans before us and they encountered the same monsters and performed the same tasks as we do. Something happened to these people that caused them to basically disappear. THAT is the mystery of these discs.
Wow really? Minecraft lore is so interesting
HUMANS DID NOT DISAPPEAR. There is a Minecraft design doc that says humans are excluded from Minecraft due to the presence of the player.
@@VectorJW9260 are villagers not humans?
MCBYT, I just wanted to say that this was a really well made video, and the editing and in game settings looked amazing! This is one of the cleanest Minecraft story/mystery videos I've seen. With the great narration, I feel like watching a Minecraft version of LEMMiNO. Keep it up!
Really appreciate it man, I took my time scripting and editing and it definitely shows. Hopefully other people will start to agree soon (this is actually my least viewed video in the last 2 years... F), but even if not, I'm very proud of how it turned out
@@mcbyt yeah, I'm not sure why it's not preforming well, I wish it was doing better :/
Yeah, but it's all good. Comes with the job haha, just gotta keep pushing and stay motivated.
Dish 11 could be the warden chasing the player and he could be taking notes this is just a theory
@@mcbyt i think its not preforming because of the title, you need to make a title that people want to click on.
Very well edited video. My only criticism is that when you were talking while the disc was playing your mic volume could have been a bit quieter. Other than that, awesome.
Yeah, I'm still learning how to mix audio well as I haven't been too focused on sound design in the past. Thanks for letting me know, I'll definitely try to work on that in the future!
“Music is what ties it together” 99% of people that turn it off: 😬
FAIR
but i mean like singleplayer/non-pvp multiplayer
I've never played minecraft with sound spotify's just better 👀
@@Asumji I wouldn't say that... I like regular Minecraft Music, but Spotify is fine too I guess...
I think it was made in conjunction with the enderman. We know that c418 was well informed on the development of new features.
I think the disc tells the story of either a players first encounter with an enderman or the first enderman to ever be encountered in the in universe lore.
Or disc 11 is like tell whats gonna be added next
These discs used to scare me when I was younger lol. Good times.
this is literally one of the best vids i have seen abt disc 11 and 13. Great job! new sub! :)
haha, thank you! glad you enjoyed!
I've seen a theory were the discs (since you can only get it from areas guarded by mobs) are possibly made by the mobs that are recording music from "strangers". In the case of disk 11 it could be that an enderman is trying to record the audio from the player and when the audio cuts out you hear a screetch similar to a sound from the endermen, possibly telling us that the enderman got caught and killed. Then again, it would make no sense to hear clicking (most likely flint and steel) from the enderman unless the enderman is close enough but undetected. To me, it could also be that Disk 11 is from the player's perspective while Disk 13 could be from a mob's (maybe the enderman?) perspective. That or if you play both disks together it could be a story from one perspective only.
Something interesting that I’ve never heard anyone else mention that I think is worth bringing up is the fact that the end of Thirteen and the beginning of the unused song Excuse seem to fit together. You can even hear the very end of a piano note at the beginning of Excuse, and the piano notes at the end of Thirteen also sound similar to the piano in Excuse, although they are harder to hear.
Hey, someone just posted a video, not that long ago, of them playing 5, 11, and 13 together at the same time. I think you might get a neat theory out of it, because they fit almost perfectly.
I still get shivers when I hear it, when I found out about the lore of it when disc 5 came out I got even more shivers.
awesome video as usual, keep up the good work man
tysm! i'll do my best!
Awesome video!!! Also I subbed :) I also have my own theory on the 2 disc's as well, and it also ties to another theory by someone else as well, and i defenetly respect your theory as well :), so the Cave Sounds theory I believe is that the Cave sounds are telling a story of a minecart disaster, and I believe that is the first part of the story, 13 is the second and 11 is the last, so in 13 we hear Cave Sound 1, then Sound 2 and Dripstone, in which I Theorize Cave Sound 2 is an Allay as it is high pitched like an Allay, at 1:05 in the Disc, I don't exactly believe it was Skeletons shooting arrows at the player, but rather a flint and steel being lit and then sound 5, then 43 seconds later we hear a Creeper hiss and Explosion, the player falls into water and gets out which is when 13 ends, and he has entered the Deepslate layer, goes through some tight tunnels before hitting a Mineshaft, he sees a minecart chest and walks to it, and that's when 11 starts in my book, he lights his flint and steel to light either a torch or a candle, then opens the chest to get a book, before looking at it an Enderman and Warden try to communicate with him, he looks through the book to find any information on them, then he hears wind behind him, and sees something through the Darkness, he lights his Candle/Torch, and sees a Zombie, panics and tries to run away, but some gravel is blocking him, he tries to break it and that's when the Zombie caught up to him and turned him into a Zombie, and that's when 11 ends in my book, the reason why I think it's a Zombie is because the sounds are almost identical, except the Zombie's voice is more high pitched and has a bit of a growl to it, the key thing is that it is a Zombie growl because when the Creature makes growl, it cuts for a millisecond in the middle and continues, and I see the same thing in one of the Zombie sounds, kinda like a girgle, and that's why I think it's a Zombie Sound :)
Woah I had no idea about the story behind disc 13, very cool!
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed!
12:36 Wifies: *exsists*
MCBYT: "Waifais" 💀
how are you supposed to say it
it has wifi in the name
so wifi... sss.
@@mcbyt It is like Weefes
There's Now Disc 5...
Wow, what a coincidence that they release a new special disc right after I make my video on them haha. I'll definitely be making a video on that, thanks for letting me know :)
Biggest complaint from me is this is under the constant assumption that we need to be able to see it in-game at the time of creation for it to make sound/exist
hello Aidan i have been watching your content and thought that you're really entertaining.... just commenting on your latest work to tell you that i finally remembered to subscribe with bell notifications love you Matey Doodles!!
Haha, thanks so much man, I really appreciate all the praise. It genuinely does mean so much to me
0:21 Omg The Blockheads. I remember playing this game on my ipad
legendary game i still have it on my phone
Wow same man
I think that It IS a enderman that whole time. Partly because at the end of disc 11, There is a screech exactly like the enderman death cry. ect.
i hate how i say this literally every single time but i- how does your editing get so much better every video
practice makes perfect, my friend, practice makes perfect
I want to say the "discrepancy" between the explosion and the creeper sound is due to a simple PoV change.
Imagine watching a movie. The main character is walking through a cave, approaches a ravine, peeks down at a pool deep below, and suddenly hears a noise behind them. They turn. The creeper begins to flash The audience knows that the character is screwed.
Cut to a camera view at the bottom of the ravine. We hear the distant explosion, and the character falls down the ravine, landing in the water.
nice one
most the time the simplest theories (most boring ones) are the most effective ones
Wasn’t expecting to see The Blockheads. Nice.
yeah the game is legendary, i love it
its says on the minecraft wiki that the warden was partially inspired by the sounds at the end of disc 11 so it is in fact technically a retroactive reference thats going on here
Disc 13:
"Cave noises".
Skeleton shoots at player
Player runs into creeper, & so ducks & dives for safety.
Skeleton's arrow hits creeper.
(Back in the time when disc 13 was added, creepers only exploded upon death, therefore): The arrow kills the creeper, causing it to explode after the cut in the disc.
The player is blasted into a water pool by explosion.
Player climbs out of pool, water dripping off of him.
Player continues to run from skeleton until disc cuts off.
Disc 11:
Player is running from enderman.
Player stops for a breath, thinking he's safe for the time being.
He scrapes his flint & steel for light & writes in his journal.
Enderman can be heard grumbling in background.
Player stares at enderman in it's purple, glowing eyes, as it is the only thing he can see in the darkness of the cave.
Enderman becomes aggrovated.
Player is aware of the hostility & flanks.
He is distinctly running on dirt until caught by the enderman.
The noise at the end is quite obviously an enderman growling at it's victim, the player.
i was 7 minutes in until i realised the video only had about 1000 views. good job on the high quality video!
Much appreciated, really happy to hear you enjoyed!
your editing is top notch
thank u so much
At my school, there is a theory that the explosion in disc 13 caused disc 11 to break into pieces
The thing at the end of disc 11 is most likely just a scary monster that never will or was going to exist
11:58 every time me and my bother would go in a cave and think something was following us.
because your brother was following you
I think it was just teasers for upcoming mobs for the community to pick apart and speculate
v cool, I just started playing minecraft and disc 11 and 12 scared the shit out of me so im trying to learn the lore !
Disc 13 just sums up my average caving experience in Minecraft, getting shot by a skeleton then running away getting blown up by a creeper, miraculously surviving that then running away cause I don’t want to die
I love these discs. Without words or much fear is the only emotion we can convey with such ease
And the missing piece of the legend is founded as the Disc named " 5 "
The only reason i think the ghast is in the sound track is because of the advancement "uneasy alliance" which says "bring a ghast home to the overworld, then kill it". This may be before ghasts were made to spawn in the nether, though was this to show ghasts were in the overworld and brought to the nether, or was it simply a change of mind by the devs to make ghasts spawn in the nether, nobody knows.
That advancement was added in 2017, 3 years after Notch left. The tracks for the discs were composed in 2010. Also, C418 hasn't made any new Minecraft music since 2013, and has functionally been replaced by Lena Raine.
So... yeah probably completely unrelated.
Giants can’t fit in a cave
Cyclops: am I a joke to you
They need a musical villager. Who will take your redstone music piece and turn it into a disk.
Pretty sure it was inspired by Marble Hornets, just like the Enderman. This whole idea of a diy found footage horror series being done without a studio on the internet by some randos was really neat at the time, and Notch was a fan.
a very nice thing to wake up to when I have a exam 30 minutes later and did not study :D
the baby zombie scared the crap out of me
*music disc 5 releases
Ooh seeing Blockheads gives me some nostalgia…
always amazing ty for content
Did you just pronounce wifies as whyfies... I think its more like weefees
it might be i do not know. he has wifi in the name though so
also thank u so much!
@@mcbyt np have a nice day
This video is really good mate
Haha, thank you so much :)
@@mcbyt no problemo
I think disc 11 is an easter egg. More specifically at 8:45 the sculk sensors are slightly heard and at the end the voice sounds like the warden roaring and killing the human
I have a theory. So, y'know when you talked about that 'boogeyman' and that scrapped overworld boss? Yeah, I think the WARDEN is that... thing. I think the warden is THAT overworld boss, but they scrapped it early on, and had old design sheets of it, but lost all in-game files of the warden, thus making new audio files and a slightly altered look and feel. After all, the warden, when summoned, makes the player feel a sense of dread, and may make the average player breath heavily, as the warden smells and listens for his surroundings. Possibly the 'book' that the character is flipping through isn't a book, but rather an early interpretation of the inventory. Possibly he's looking for a projectile, a bow, a snowball, any sort of projectile he can distract the warden with.
its just a thought, but maybe that's what this is, and what the new warden is meant to be, a recreation of a lost monster, a lost ancient being, now free in the depths of the underground. The player may even escape, escaping into that strange dimension, maybe records break in that dimension, leaving someone, possibly in disc 13, to be the person that finds that disc, hence why disc 13 would stop, as it would stop for a second in that dimension.
so yeah, thats my theory about disc 11, and a tidbit of disc 13 as well.
Didn’t a dev say that the warden was based on the noises?
@@kenziebalhatchet3918 he did, Ask Mojang #11, or however that show is called - plus, why would they plan the warden 7 years in advance?
I feel like that disc 11 comes after disc 13, in my interpretation. Like disc 11 is the beginning of the end of disc 13. And I think there was a player name Brian, whom later died and became a soulless steve known to those 10 year olds as Herobrine, and to be honest, I think herobrine could have been a potential mob concept for Minecraft but wasn't added, but later got put into some mod pack.
i know im late but maybe the ghast sound and enderman sound were put in disc 11 as a sneak peak to further updates?
disc 13 is the part one of disc 11,a player mining when a skeleton shoots the player, missing, then shooting again, hitting a creeper making it explode sending the player into the water,he gets out and starts running first time stopping to eat,the second,he saw a enderman, not knowing what it is he starts running.thats where it ends and disc 11 starts. the character is still running then lighting up the area via searching his inventory (thus the metal clicking and paper shuffling) after that he goes on gravel still running away, the enderman teleporting behind him, thats why the character looks away. then the character kills the enderman dropping the recording, breaking it.the screech being the enderman's death sound being (bc they are the same)
Disc 11, my story for it. Hour 11, an ancient builder ran through the caves, stopped at the portal, and shuffled through they're pockets for a Flint and steel. They checked to see if the item worked, then coughed
They put the item in they're pocket and breaks some blocks around the portal, then they pop open an ancient book with a blueprint of the portal.
Then lighting the portal quietly, a long arm moved through the portal. They frantically put away they're flint and steel and looked through the book to find out what it is.
Then they started to mine faster and faster through an area of the cave, then a wither came out of the portal.
It doesn't matter when they were made, because they still exist now, and in Minecraft lore, the 11th hour was when people started trying to go to the nether, and it was also the time when the Withers woke up.
this would fit so well if the cave dweller was an official mob
I think when disc 14 cuts off at the end you should start playing just 11 it makes the most sense because of the running
Beautiful videos
I love Your content your amazing
tysm
Minecraft's music is one of a kind.
Maybe the endermen, herobrine, and ghast were a hint to the next future updates
5:59 I am pretty sure the Huge explosion you hear is the Distant sound of the Old Creeper Explode Sound
Maybe c418 is a time traveler and he added those enderman noises before they existed just to mess with us lol
Also disc 11 PERFECTLY FITS where disc 11's cut off happens at 1min 30sec
Watching this before bed I’m probably gonna regret this 😂😅
lol at 8:03 you went full Chills accent mode
Disc 11 could quite possibly be scratched because it was damaged in the explosion heard in disc 13.
nice video and coooool voice! :3
haha, thank you :)
When you play the disc 11 & 13 it spawns temple 24 under ground which is a creepy pasta. A youtuber who is ray gloom creepypasta made a video of temple 24
There’s no way this guy doesn’t read for audiobooks when he’s not playing Minecraft
LOL I wish
The way I see it, disc 11 is simply just a sound production project related to Minecraft, it was originally in the game files encouraging others to scrummage through the files not in the game and feel unsettled
No real specific purpose, it’s scary for the sake of being scary
People: Minecraft is kid friendly!
Mojang: no
now let's combine 13, 11, and 5 and tell the entire story although I think 11 leads to disc 5 with the warden indev
Video suggestion minecraft bedrock console Ray tracing and how it is still being delayed from super super graphics pack
still amazing content dude
Actually believe it or not the monster chasing the minor is the warden. When c418 made and listened to disk 13 and 11 he imagined the player was being chased by a monster the monster in question was not in the game. Later mojang based the warden off this monster, that's why when we got the warden we got disk 5 even though c418 had nothing to do with disk 5 and is the first like disk 13 and 11 in a long time.
Disc 13 ends with running. Disc 11 starts with running. That might mean that the 2 discs are linked in some way? (also maybe they cut off and then resume just like backrooms footage?)
I only have Disk 13s... i have 4 and only got a Cat one, i thought Disc 11 was the only one creepy, so i went into my jukebox first time to try Disk 13, and oh god lmao, my jukebox is in my top floor and as i went down i felt that chilling freeze down in my spine
Underrated minecraft content creator
thank you so much
13:18 actually, c418 was making the ghast noises at the time he released the music disks, don't believe me? He used his cat to make the ghast noises.
I love the vid but I think there has to be an answer and they seem so conected!
The ad just cuts off the mood :(
Edit: 14:52 I also got jumpscare by a zombie lol
Disk 5: Im about to ruin this whole mans career
Herobrine and the giants, bring me back to the simpler times.
my brother locked my Minecraft music as disc 13 on repeat for an hour while I mined. creepy
9:14 when you broke that copper block, there seemed to be a patchwork of block textures, from what I could tell, of observers, command blocks, pistons, seen briefly. What was that?
My guess would be anti xray plugins, from a server.
I guess rhyming doesn't gets old
11 & 13 is so creepy because 13 is an unlucky number
5: allow me to introduce myself
As there are 11 srconds between the two halves of disc 13 i remember reading a theory that disc 11 occurs between the two halves of disc 13
Let's start from the top *Ad plays of a robotic dog*
I'm pretty sure the ghast sounds are from one of the developers cats so disc 11 isn't where inspiration for the ghasts came from
Nice video
Minecraft and terraria music were the soundtrack of my childhood 😎
These disc make Minecraft more scary...
Now I know the story of minecraft disc 13 and disc 11 also why is disc 11 shattered?
maybe the addition of the enderman was already planned when the 11 track qas first added
I recon the beast chasing the player in disc 11 was either a warden or somthing else. (Yet I could be wrong)
My theory for disc 11 is that it tells the story of a player’s encounter with Herobrine and for disc 5 tells the story of a players encounter with the warden.
great video !!!!
haha, thank you so much!!
Wait. Wasn’t disc 11 added in august 2010? That’s about 1 month later after disc 13 was added!
i hope microsoft is taking care of the lore, and not just adding random updates
