Conan & Andy Dub Over China's Most Popular Soap Opera | CONAN on TBS
/ teamcoco - Комедії
This show to Chinese is like "Friends" to American, we watch it over and over every year!
What's its name?
@@ElCampisaurus Its Chinese name is HuanZhuGeGe, maybe in English is “give back the princess ”LOL
@@susyc3683 Not at all, that'd mean something like "Return of the Pearl Princess".
That would be Full House but close enough.
I don’t know what huan means, but zhu means this/that and gege means older brother
“YOU’VE GOT A HOBBIT DOOR” i lost it in this part
5:25 xD
"Let's go get pickles!" is too funny
At the start: Haha, yes my career is over, very funny sarcasm, comedy man.
His face during the taping: Yes, my career is over . . .
I feel like Conan and Andy could actually be amazing voice actors. They both have very unique voices.
Conan has dubbed over cartoons before
Andy is Mort in all the Madagascar stuff.
The G-Man Conan and Andy did voice over the Halo game as well, I think it was that game. lol.
I Think conan made a cameo on Halo lol
The G-Man Conan was the voice actor for David Endocrine on the Dark Knight Returns movie.
I want these dub-overs to be a series, like the audience awards and the clueless gamer series.
barbaro267 same
I know this is one of the funniest videos I've seen Conan make and that's saying a lot.
try abridge series over the internet like sao abridged
Rey Fire by,,j to be. Ghbbb
Yes
I wish they did more voice-over segments just so we can see more of Andy's improv. He's incredible.
wait this was improvised?
"You will see no cutlery!!"
That line always cracks me up
this show was my childhood lol, it was insanely popular in late 90's - early 2000's
what do you mean? conan is still pretty popular
Akarshan Satsangi I think he's talking about the show they are doing voice overs for...
Thang Nguyen Lol yeah. I really loved this show!
brad newton i was joking...
Thang Nguyen omg your last name is insanely common i see it everywhere
Man this was THE SHIT back when I was kid. Every kid would collect cards with actor photos printed on it. Every kid would talk about it and wait for the broadcast hours. Even today every kid in my country who was kid during early 2000s would feel nostalgic about this, I am sure.
Ramen noodles came with those cards
+Nomado i used to watch this when i was like 8-10 years old
+PeacefulGary ramen is Korean
lulwot
+Kris Reese Ramen is Japanese.
My favorite part is “CRACK”
Yup🤣😂
The Best sound effect translation
*CRACK*
CRAP
hahahahah i was dyyyingg
"Now I'm talking off camera, I can say whatever I want! *Random babble*"
This is why Andy's the perfect partner to Conan
Andy is the best sidekick in all of history
😊t,
This entire video is gold but for some reason "Oh you've got a hobbit door" just kills me every time
j
jbmp1390 Pap
That, Crack and I love you made me laugh out loud
"i love you" dieded
I love how at 7:25 Andy starts laughing before Conan even finished his joke. Such good chemistry
Nice observation haha
he knew something good was coming up when he mentioned american treasury
Well it was also the ridiculous setup that humored him, that the American Treasury is just contacting Conan, he says kinda quietly "oh you got a text", like they're pals and just texting Conan casually.
As a Chinese immigrant who watched this show growing up, my love for Conan just tripled.
I can't even imagine my life without Conan.
thank you Conan, you're the best.
Ghada Alshammari I say the same thing to myself everyday
Ghada Alshammari ياغاده انتي من السعوديه؟؟
@@amw7007 please don't ask that
Is that you in the profile?
Dina Simoné what did he ask?
Andy is amazing! I laughed until i cried! :P :P
"Now i'm talking off camera i can say what i want"
+zeepster "bleh bleh bleh bleh bleh... Oh, I am back, hello!"
I almost choked to death because of my laughter! Andy is amazing!
AAaaaaahhhhhh!!!!... I'm leaking tears of pain, my stomach hurts and i can't breathe
Iris me too. can't stop laughing
06:35 never seen Conan laugh so hard LMAO
You are right!
He's holding back his laughter because he need to deliver his lines and it genuinely looks Conan is about to burst into laughter. This is my favorite part of this skit. 😂
6:34 im sorry but thats just too funny🤣🤣🤣
"I got this knife online"
LOL
xD
XzTS aiiii
XzTS i
"You won't see any cutlery!"
3:34 "Listen to me! I got this knife online!"
"Don't show them the knife now, show it to them later"
More like China’s most popular series 15 years ago
Well.... no.... these things are still extremely popular in china, even today. And I do live here in China.... And have Chinese wife... and we watch these... nevermind
Ryptahi Guess it’s depending on groups of people. Younger generations in China, as much as I know, are more fond of Japanese animes, K pop, Hollywood, and domestic talent shows. But yeah things could be different in older generations. My parents are different though. They watch war shows all the day. Anyways sir wish you and your wife all the best.
Ryptahi well...seems you live in China but don’t know what is popular in China
Dont know about you but some friends of mine said the pearl princess is famous even today because if the princess is taiwanese and it united some politics between countries..., etc
@@adriantsui1689 that only the teen generation,if i not wrong every chinese that >20 all know about their 4 greatest novel like Water Margin, three kingdom, journey to the west and red chamber , hell i am not even chinese but i read all of them because of some politics propaganda turd
Many of these characters from this show have actually become memes in China. I’d totally watch Conan’s version tho if it’s a real thing lol
Wich ones? X)
Let me geuss, the emporar, the Tibetan ruler, the towell guy and the fighter girl?
@@-gemberkoekje-5547 hhhhhhh, you actually got none of them right
'Why are you wearing the royal bathtowel?!" 😂😂😂
Fun Fact, Wendy Lee (the director) Was Faye Valentine in Cowboy Bebop, the "At the sound of the tone" voice on old phone lines, and the "Evacuation Complete" voice in Austin Powers.
Wendy Lee is a badass. She's done many awesome voices for many things.
Allen S And Haruhi
Oh! Yeah, good eye! I've been enjoying Wendee's (note spelling) work ever since she did Vanessa, the SDF-1 bridge officer with the glasses on "Robotech" back in '85. BTW, I wonder what the intended purpose of Conan and Andy's dubbing was. Conan emphasized that he wasn't joking, so it does seem like it was intended for more than just this bit on Conan's show.
Also the woman in Megas XLR
@@jbmp1390 I had no idea Wendee did the "at the sound of the tone" voice, that blows my mind
the guy outside looks ready to kick dumplings into their mouths.
It is possibly the only drama set in the Qing dynasty during Qian Long's reign which was not about concubines and princess scheming against each other.
Yea! It's very funny and quite family friendly. That's why it's popular here in Indonesia! I personally like the chemistry between the princesses and the king, they are really like a big family there.
this show first aired in 1998 alright , its a pretty good show honestly , consider it is late 90's and produced in china. it actually once became a big trend in asia , japanese ppl loved it , along with several other asian countries like vietnam , etc . ppl that watched it mostly remembered it because this was not a bad show
I never knew that about Conan, thanks.
***** Hahaha!
hazel chu Hahaha yeah..
hazel chu It was a hysterical show. The comedies were gold. Stupid, but gold. Kinda like Stephen Chow's, but less innuendos.
I watched it earlier this year; definitely good haha. It’s cheesy and corny with all the flying during battles, but just embrace the silliness and it’s a great show.
No one should complain about this video being racist or prejudice. Seriously, hiring Conan and Andy to dub over anything and expecting them to actually do a good job is like hiring a blind pilot
Nabder Nagor now bud, you're being a racist.
This is the most popular series 20 years ago. A lot of good memories
And u are the empress or emperor? The only 1
@@ramirofeliz8124 China has the most population in the world so yeah. Not in America ofc.
Fun Fact.. Wendee Lee does the voice for Faye Valentine in Cowboy Bebop.
Eddie Vargas hoping someone would say that
I000 likes sir.
Don't tell me your reason to mention that on this video, aside from Wendee Lee, it's because of Asia.
還珠格格, a Chinese Drama and Cowboy Bebop, an anime from Japan. That'd be very disappointing.
Vigil thats crazy bro but we don’t remember asking
Vigil you’re an idiot
"AHHHH DUMPLING!!!" Conan is too damn hilarious.
5:27 I literally lost it "MY YOU HAVE A HOBBIT DOOR!
You should set the timestamp to 1 or 2 seconds earlier. The joke doesnt work otherwise.
Andy does have a great voice. He should really do such voiceovers.
Conan laughing silently at 6:35 is the most adorable, I’ve never seen him laugh like that 😩
I watched the show almost 20 years ago! It is still on TV every summer
Xu Feng yup that was so long ago
Xu Feng Yes same here :D But in my case it was about 5 years ago
My cousin forced me to watch that soap opera with her every day when I was 4.
yes EVERY summer😂
The Chinese TV stations are crazy, always rerunning ancient shows...
4:01- 4:10 "Crack!" omg my stomach hurts
+Chanson Chon lol me 2
+Chanson Chon i was eating i almost choke
Same here lol
LOLLLLL I have abs from that
FUNNIEST PART!!!!!!
The best part @7:25. The producer dead ass lying to their face.
I love Andy and I found myself watching him do his flawless voiceover magic. He's good!!!!!
"You have a hobbit door." Hahahahahahaha
Wendee Lee huge voice actress in the american anime business. She has done some absolute classics, Robotech, Tenchi Muyo, El Hazard etc. She is also the voice of Haruhi. If anyone cares.
Is she Asian? She doesn't look asian
+Tí mó tàihòu shū. lee is also a british lastname
Robotech? Was she... Was she that red-haired chick Rick Hunter fell for?
+kuribo1 is this Pierre Bernard wow its Pierre Bernard.
KingDT2007
I am sorry I do not get it, is it supposed to be funny or something? It just is not.
I loved this soap opera as a kid of early 2000s! It was nearly on every channel. I could never imagine this show would come back to me like this.. A big American star dubbing over it... A few years ago I started to watch Conan's videos and they cracked me up hard... But these days I can't squeeze any laugh out of anything cuz I'm in a depressing situation and struggling... I hope I can have hearty laughs from Conan's show again :(
I remember watching that show when I was like 15 and I'm a South Korean. It was huge and I loved it!
I laughed so hard that I'm crying. I would watch the whole dubbed series.
me too
5:57 This scene had me crying tears of laughter
xplodax me too XD
xplodax
xplodax they don't take chinese currency XDDDD
I watched the series almost 20 ys ago and it WAS surely a popular show back then. I'm laughing my head off when watching this version haha!
That sounded like two 11-year old boys making fake voices and dialogue in their bedroom with their action figures.
LMAO
This reminds me of a Whose Line is it Anyway segment called film dub.
I wish Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie were doing this with them.
YES Ryan and Colin are the best
omg i was thinking the same thing thats why i even clicked on this. conan and andy are pretty funny tho.
"... CRACK!"
Never laughed so hard in my life HAHAAHHAAHA!
1:31 conan: your career is through
bran: ook
after I watched this all the pain that I felt disappeared and was replaced with job and happiness. Thanks Conan and Andy!!!
"Crack"......hahhahaha im rolling on the floor
As a Chinese I laughed till the end😂 !Especially the parts : "crack" "dumpling" "hobbit door" "I love you" .
This is one of the most classic Chinese drama during my childhood. I wish there is actual this funny version of this drama!!
Crack! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The hobbit door was the best part
This is soo amazing. It’s like my favorite who’s line is it anyway game where they dub old videos
"Now I'm talking off camera. I can say whatever I want. Bleheheheheeheh.." 😂
4:34 that dumpling scene im dying
"Don't let them throw soup" 😂 hahaha
this made me cry omg the most hilarious conan episode ever
lilnarwhalx can Na ki
This soap opera is a big part of my childhood ❤️ wanna rewatch it
I was laughing and choking at the same time with “CRACK”
I want them to do this with K-dramas
+xoheartyoona유나 they already did (Phwyowow)
+zzmrdeathzz tsenguulee they acted in a kdrama, not dub
omg ik did you write comment just to argue with me then go outside and breathe some air and talk to some girls NEET find something to do

omg I grew up watching this show when I was just a little kid! awesome!
This was one of my favorite shows when I was younger... how could you Conan?. Lol
Grew watching this show when I was kid. It's hilarious to Conan and Andy voice it. I would def watch it again if they are dubbing in English.
6:33 I died
+Fiascotje NO! I don't want you to die!
+Fiascotje DON'T WORRY! I KNOW CPR!
+Fiascotje Oh man, me too. Seeing Conan's face at that time makes it even better.
+Fiascotje
first time in months im laughing till im crying xD.
+Fiascotje It's really cool to see Conan laugh like that lol
4:34 I believe that is a bun, not a dumpling.
+kincadedm I don't think Americans use the term bun, I think they call them dumplings and what we asians know as dumplings are called pot stickers. Cause I'm thinking when they say bun, its probably like a hot dog bun
+kincadedm That's dumpling, or xiao long bao.
+TjandraGaming i thought xiao long bao has soup in them?
+TjandraGaming xiao long baos aren't that big that is a meat bun
Qingfeng baozi
I'm thankful for this video. For a long time in my life, I haven't laughed so hard until I cried before watching this segment.
It was so popular back then! I always left my friends midway of playing just to run back home and watch the airing of this drama.
i cried watch this when i was a kid :)) good old time
I live in America and I love this show since I was little. It is so good and the love stories are good.
+Will pack What?
"I'm off camera, I can say whatever I want. Blbdsggekslajavn.

Wow! I could see so many old background, innocent plots, and dramatic intense in this chinese opera soap, i bet people will loving this
I died when i heard the “crack” hahahahahahahahaha
Oh you got a hobbit door.
I wish I could give you 2 thumbs up, one for the quote and another for the Pepe Silvia!
I llove meeting new Always Sunny fans, it awesome.
Same here, Such an amazing show! My brother and I quote it to a ridiculous extent lol
I just bought season six today lol been wanting to buy a season ever since i started watching it, but never had a damn job.
Man I feel you, I have season 1 through 7 but no job. I've done sunny marathons so many times that I started switching it up by doing themed marathons, like all episodes with the McPoyles or Rickity Cricket. A few times I even starting with the last episode and went backwards to the first...I have time for this because I am jobless lol so that's an upside to being unemployed.
I used to watch this soap opera when I was a kid and now I am laughing my tear out
"Let's go get pickles! YEEEEAAAHHHAHAHAHA!"
"I don't even know what they are!" 😂
This is too funny. I have never laughed this hard for a long time. Thank you Conan and Andy 🤣🤣🤣
They replay this show every summer, a lot of the younger generation grew up watching this. Americans would have to be highly interested in Chinese culture to be able to buy into the plot of this show.
Concon W It's funny because when I was young and still lived in China. Whenever this show would start airing reruns, we would jokingly say "looks like summer has officially begun".
warning, don't watch this at the library when you study for the final, LoL
too late!
方敬綸 'study'
方敬綸 that's what I'm doing right now!!
說得對,我現在也在study for final xd. 差點笑出來
chinese chinese ah chinese
We need more of this!
Coming back here when I'm sad. It helps a LOT!
"Ahhhh Dumpling!!." Im crying. Too funny.
Conan and Andy have helped the U.S. Troll the world. Awesome!
This was my first Conan media I ever watched!
They are hilarious together! Andy is so insanely quick!
Wendee Lee!!! Her voice is so seductive... Guys she was Faye in Cowboy Bebop
I love cowboy bebop
woah!!!!
Ah damn nice!!!
LMAO Andy at the end - even Conan started cracking up
Watch this all the time. Love it everytime.
That is exactly soul of the show , the producer found the right person lmao
"Also dude, there's no dipping sauce"
Selma K 🤣🤣🤣🤣
haha this series was extremely popular back in 2000.
I remember there was stickers of their faces on them and stuff hahahah
Ciel Cecilia Lam
This was my favorite Chinese drama growing up. I actually learned most of the Chinese idioms I use today through this show. This was hilarious! Are they still hiring voiceover actors? Im interested!!
Now i'm talking off camera i can say what i want....This PART IS AWESOME!!!!
Nice job Conan, and the other guy
Andy. -"and the other guy." Lol
Marian Moss
"andy - other guy"
omg you are ripping out and breaking my funny bones into pieces, blood is everywhere and I'm about to die!!! Curse you satan
Gosh I remember watching this when I was 2 sitting with my grandma!! I’m 21 now..
crack
Not dumpling, it's a pork bun.
The knob thing indicates the ranking of the official. The crack is a form of greeting back in the day. Conan is hilarious
how did you know there's pork inside the bun? it can be something else or just bun
This is just makes me want to watch the series again
How do you tell the diference from a dumpling and a pork bun?
@@-gemberkoekje-5547 a dumpling is normally boiled (but theres also potstickers). a “pork bun” normally is steamed. I find the term pork bun to sound really unappetizing compared to what it actually is lmao
How did they greet each other if the air was dry and their knuckles wouldn't crack?
I remember this from my childhood! My mom and grandma's favorite show lol. It came back on tv recently as a rerun and my mom was so excite to watch it again lol
"I love you" loooool Actually back then when I watched this show as a kid, I shipped these two characters together. There's so much hidden bromance going on between them. And their girls, princesses Huanzhu and Ziwei, could be a lesbian couple. They suit each other more than the original pairings;)))
Tsjiha23 haha very true
Lol I didn’t realize that!
I prefer Huanzhu with 5th Prince though 🤣
This is by far the funniest video i have seen in years. Conan and andy are the best
Thank you Conan. Still crazy after all these years.
I was insanely in love with this show growing up. Was probably around 11 or 12 at the time. The production made a newer version with better quality but the acting, the morals, the songs and literature was incomparable to the first version.
