Bawling again.... Almost a year ago I got to see my friend, Darian's Mom, for our high school reunion...and we were all so happy Darian was healthy. A short time later we found out he was ill again. My heart broke Saturday morning when I heard the news their sweet boy was gone.
Thank you West Jet and Ronald McDonald House for bringing some joy to my highschool friend and her family during such a tough time. I'm absolutely bawling with happiness sharing the moment.
Even though I don't know the family i'd like to offer my sincerest condolences to them. This is such an inspirational video. I recall losing a young boy that I coached many years ago through a terrible accident while on a Minor Hockey Tournament. It's still something we all often think about. Rest easy little guy. Westjet, what can I say. Awesome gesture. Class act !
From one family that was diagnosed in Sept to another I am so glad WestJet did this for you. This is a horrible rollercoaster and those days where we get to feel normal again are amazing!!! So happy for you!
I have never flown West Jet but for years have been so impressed with the things you do. This video, as a parent, really touched my heart. My prayers are going to Darian and his family. My husband and I will be in Canada in a few weeks. When making our airline plans my main request to him was to fly West Jet if that was a possibility. I am happy to say that my dream vacation will end with our West Jet flight leaving Vancouver on August 14th. Although I don't want my vacation to be over, I am looking forward to ending it with a chance to try West Jet. Please keep up the good work, you all are a wonderful company and this world needs a lot more like you!
Kaiya is on my hockey team and to see my teammate and friend go through pain like that along with Darien who is my friend aswell. His ceremony was touching but it was a way to celebrate his life
It was really big for our community I am from clarenville and we all came together to raise 30,000 dollars and more for Darian... We even put his name and the cancer symbol on the ice
You guys have just earned a life long customer. I know why you make videos like this but you also made people's lives better for it also. For that we thank you
No plans to add Happy Meals at this time but we did add McCafe coffee on board last year. We've partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities for a number of years now, and are thankful for the great work they do helping families like the Hunts. We hope you agree.
Is Westjet in the business to make money? YES. BUT from wahat i have seen, every cartier in the US needs to take a lesson from this class act. RIP youngman, as a grandfater my heart sank when i read the update. Westjet needs to change its name to ClassAct
I didn't need to know about this. Why can't things like this just be done for the good and not to profiteer off of the family's pain? When I was a kid a friend of mine was at the McDonald's house. And I used to bike there to see her. These kids don't want to be alone but they certainly don't want to go through this on youtube either. I think it is great that this event happened for the family. But, WestJet should have just done it for them and not turned it into a commercial. I want to live in a world where corporations do this and I never find out about unless the child happens to tell me.
Companies do charity work all the time and in many cases, large organizations request no recognition. However, there are times when companies have to promote it or the general public gets the impression all they care about is the bottom line even though they donate over 100 million per year.
As a McDonald's employee, I am truly grateful that this is where all the numerous donations has gone to. WestJet is doing God's work

Once again WestJet, you've made the world a better place. Kudos.
Truly inspiring, makes happy to be a Calgarian and a Canadian. Thank you WestJet for your contribution to this world.

WestJet represents the true 🇨🇦 way
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I would love to work for WestJet ☺
is someone cutting onions?
Anybody know how the kid is doing?
My eyes started leaking, someone get me a bucket.
It'd be even better if the teams walks first then stops then steps aside and his daughter walks in
Very nice video, but Darian had nothing to say?
Does this mean WestJet will be serving Happy Meals on domestic flights now? :)

I certainly agree! That is evident of your company slogan "Owners Care" :)
I clicked on this because I thought it was Justin Beiber in the thumbnail. Anyone else?

A H I could not agree with you more! Good works unseen are still fantastic!
A H to share and promote the idea of kindness, you also have to remember they are a business, and a business can't suceed without advertisement

If Ellen DeGeneres and Justin Bieber had a kid
Remember that time Air Canada did something nice for someone else??? Ya me neither. Why would anyone fly Air Canada?
Is that Justin Bieber?
