Cute lil chicks. Selfishly tho, every time I receive a notification I hope it’s regarding a pip from Shadow and Jackie’s clutch. It would give my heart such joy. No matter what happens, knowing S&J are well is a comfort.
I follow a hummingbird nest. Those babies are also very wobbly. While the size different between them isn't as big, the babies are basically seethrough and the mom shoves her entire very pointy beak down their throats. It's hard not to worry that she will hurt them, but I know she's successfully brought up lots of clutches before so she knows what she's doing. 😄 🥰
Right? Why does it have to be so huge 🤪 I know they are probably trying to track and observe it or whatever but sad it has to have that big of a tag on 😞
Bald eagles I think were endangered at one point. Through conservation and tracking, they are coming back. I think that tag is huge, too, but if it's helping the species survive, then it's a necessary evil.
Hi @Cali Condor, I'm curious as Chet and Thunder have years of successful fledges, is the initial name WE1 because it's first of the season? I guess I thought it would be WE50 by now 😊.
Thanks Cali, I know it's a temporary ID as I've been able to name a Channel Island Eagle from donations...was just curious why the number wouldn't be the total number of their offspring that they know of 49, 101? 😉 Amazing pair. So glad the cams are at their new nest.
acb--short answer is No--and the long answer is No-- including anything else ! Hang around for a few yrs and see for yourself how capable Chet is as a Dad, Mate, family Eagle to his family.

Eagle Life Sustaining Eagle Life--So Cute.---Thanks for posting Cali.
Beautiful setting for the nest. The chick is adorable. Thank you for the video.
Cali, many thanks for your tender videos! My heart is on the mend after following J+S. This little eaglet is precious ❤
Awe, I am so happy for Thunder and Chet. Cute eaglete.❤
It seems near impossible to feed those little bobbleheads initially but mommy know what to do.

Seeing the tag on the wing upsets me. I wish it could be removed!!

No i dont agree with tagging every living creature on earth 😢

Precious, thank you so much!🐣

The baby is so small compared to the adult eagle 🦅 thank you for sharing Cali 🦅🦅🦅🦅

Congratulations 🎉 welcome to the eaglet!
Definitely looks like the other egg is trying to hatch. 😊

WE1 is a temporary ID. IWS chicks are usually named as part of a fundraiser - Nest Adoption Challenge (details on that later).

Not sure, it’s an old tradition. I guess it’s easier to call them 1-2-3 rather than 1468-1469-1470 😁
Appreciate you @Cali Candor 🦅❤️
Blessings from Ct ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Doesn't that blue arm tag hurt the bird on some level, either flying, mating, nesting or anything else?

Heilà fantastic Cali Condor 🤗👋
Helo ❤
🙏 😊
Hi CaliCondor. The tagging looks painful to the eagle, is it? Or is this a normal practice.
Nice! Is this Jr's first feeding?
🎉🐣❤️
Thanks Cali, is there a live cam? I couldn't find it.
It's in the description.
What's the blue patches on the wings of the eagle who flew away?
You would think hunting as well.
Pretty pathetic the eagle has that ugly tag. Ruins the beauty of nature
