- This guy was a student at a flight school in Florida, he came from India to eventually become a pilot. He became angry after school instructors would not allow him to take a solo flight. He damaged 10+ planes intentionally so that nobody would be able to fly them, was charged with Felony CRIMINAL MISCHIEF.
He was sentenced to 266 days in jail after pleading NOLO-CONTENDERE. I have not been able to find anything out about his visa status and if that's been revoked.

he got sentenced to 266 days in jail. I checked the court documents again and did not see anything regarding restitution on his sentencing doc. He had to submit a DNA sample and do the 266 days in jail. (verified with the county jail, He was released on July 20th after spending 7 months there. Seems like he got a little time off for good behavior.)

..and deport on a boat, NOT a plane.
Dude, having to wait to do a solo flight is one of the most common setbacks any student pilot goes through. If he couldn't tolerate having to wait, then he is clearly not cut out to be a pilot. It's like going to medical school and throwing a tantrum because the room is too cold.
Imqgine when the hostess rejects his proposal
It seems he was supposed to get done in 8 months but he has been there 1 year and 8 months. You know a lot of flight schools milk students, especially international ones because they can’t change their flight school that easily.
@@mianatwood 8 months to do your solo then you are totally incapable, 1 year and 8 months well goodness gracious me. Solo takes 20 hours. He must have been the worse pilot in the world and judging by his actions, yup he sure is the worse pilot
@@mianatwood
You are such a liar.
Flight schools don't milk students, especially the international schools which only offer the 141 program.
That's full time student where you fly 5 days a week, & you build your hour requirements in only 4 to 6 weeks, because you don't loose proficiency flying almost every day.
In the 141 program, you can potentially earn your Private, Instrument, Commercial, & CFI ratings in 4 months... 6 at most.
After 1 year & 8 months not flying his 1st solo... he is either a part time student with long breaks between flights... or grossly incompetent.
Exactly. I think those of us who went through any kind of pilot training are the most baffled by this because what he's mad about is so normal, so common. What if he'd shown up and the weather was zero-zero, or there was a maintenance issue grounding the a/c? Would he have been enraged by that?
Dude doesn't need to be piloting any aircraft after his temper tantrum. Messing with any aircraft is a federal offense. He needs to be jailed, deported, and banned from ever coming back.
Doesn't strike me as an ideal candidate for a pilot license.
Or any license ( driver, hair, etc)

I am a pilot undergoing professional flight training in Florida, I actually have a checkride scheduled next week (from this posting). I remember my first solo, all pilots do, I was nervous, and excited all rolled into one.
Why?
When you are flying solo its entirely up to you to make all of the correct decisions, and its not just about your own life, you are responsible for other pilots lives near you and the people on the ground in your area of influence. It's a ton of responsibility even for a little single engine prop plane.
Every student and instructor I have ever talked to has complained about weather, mechanical, or just life in general messing up their flight training causing pushed back milestones. That's aviation for you, its just like that. The way this guy handled it showed that he should not be allowed to become a pilot in any capacity. If he is here on a student visa, that visa should be revoked.
well said, I agree
@@CrimePiece I just did some additional research, any violent felony or a felony that results in imprisonment for over 1 year is grounds for visa termination and even if registered as a permanent resident that visa is revoked and the applicant is deported with a 20 year ban on returning to the United States. After the 20 year ban the waiver to re-enter has a minimal chance of being approved.
He was found guilty of FELONY criminal mischief with a sentence of over 1 year of imprisonment which makes him eligible for visa revocation and deportation as well as that 20 year ban on re-entry to the United States, even if he is registered as a permanent resident.

True....I'd still have everyone inspected before any flight.....
I can imagine FAA and the flight school would want to have A&P mechancs do a COMPLETE check of everything on their planes Who can say what that lunatid actually did?
*_"god knows what he did."_* He bent the throttles on them, which completely disables them by preventing them from leaving idle. The damage he caused isn't dangerous. It is extremely inconvenient and obviously costs the business money, but there is no danger. What he did amounts to slashing a cars tires, snapping the shifter off of a manual transmission, or crimping the fuel line.

The FAA can't hand out criminal judgements - the best that they could do would be suspend his non-existent pilot's license. The NTSB wouldn't be involved because they only become involved in air travel matters if there's an accident/crash. There was no crash, so the NTSB has no role to play.

Real problem was paying $60k up front and taking 20 months to solo. At some point that’s a clue
If you can't solo after 20 months you can't fly. I soloed after 8 hours of training. I can't imagine him flying a paper airplane let along a plane with passengers.
From what I could gather from the interrogation, he flew into IMC and his CFI rightfully jumped on him about that. 20 months and not even solo. Ridiculous. His CFI ultimately saved his life. He was incapable of dealing with an emergency and was likely to put himself into one. Should've been ineligible for a student pilot cert to begin with due to the lack of English language proficiency instead of pushing a turd along through more instructor and wet rental hours.

Does nobody else find it alarming that the A&P at this flight school cannot articulate a description of the throttle in a 172? That frightens me.
The disconnect between the A&P and the officer, was not the understanding of what a throttle does, it was that your not able to get the aircraft in the AIR, you cycle that throttle about 10 times minimum before the plane gets on the runway for takeoff, you must do a preflight “run up” with a checklist, it has a step that requires the pilot to. Confirm all controls free and logical ..
