Yeah I really don't get it, I know it's not officially a dh only but there's the fire trail to climb up I don't know people would want to climb El P, trails are to narrow and there's too much exposure I don't think it's safe to climb up the dh trails
I rode El P on New Years but didn’t climb all the way up to Mt Wilson. It was packed with hikers on Brown Mtn and El P but the trails are perfect now. Planning on riding up to Inspiration Point and riding Merrill and Sunset before finishing up with El P this weekend. The climbing up Chaney and the pavement to Sunset is the worst part for me.
Yeah everyone had their New Year resolutions but as you know most people fall off their goals first week so it should be a lot less hikers this weekend 🤣
Thanks brotha 🙏 Happy New Year to you too. Yeah the exposure here used to scare me when I first rode here but after riding it every weekend I got used to it but now it scary AF again 😬
Yeah this is was my go to trail back in the day after the rain but since covid and the shuttle no longer running it was too difficult to self shuttle, now e bike up is a great option 👌
Yeah I think it would be safer if there were hiking only and mtb only trails but unfortunately we have to share so the best way is to be nice even to those mean hikers because we don't want to loose our trails
Thanks brotha 🙏 There's nothing else like Mt Wilson, to me it's as pure mountain biking as there is. It's been a very long time since I've ridden here so the exposure really got to me. 😬
Happy new year brotha ! My brother and I will be hitting Aliso Jan 18-20th we're going down there for his birthday. We're going to hit your restaurant up for dinner.
@@TommyHuynh we met at your Group ride. Not the last one but the one before. Danny and Josh we drove 4 hours from SLO. But yeah it's been a while. I'll hit you up brotha 💪
I am not sure what Millard trail is but there is a short blue trail above El Prieto that we call single track to Millard camp that you can easily climb up from fire road. I would just go on trail forks or internet and I'm sure you will find out
Even saw the lights of the Good Year Blimp...
🤣🤣🤣 ...yup that was a good day 💪
Damn, Spencer shreds!!!
Yes he does! 💪💪💪
I hit El P 2 days ago and came across 2 separate dudes trying to climb up the trail!

@@TommyHuynh I told the first guy not to do that, he seemed like a noob. But the 2nd guy seemed like an XC dude on a mission.
Damn that's crazy man, I totally remember him from his movies. That's rad.
Yes it's so cool that this sport brings so many people together for sure 💯
@@TommyHuynh 💯💯

Send IT…….. Exposure stresses me out too…
Great Video Bro…. Happy New YR…..

I used to ride every new years. Haven't done it in years. Have fun for me.
I didn't know Mt Wilson allso connected to El P, totally missed that.
Spencer played a pro surfer in the show Animal Kingdom. Love that show. RIP Smurf! Lets ride Spencer! I'm local also!
He's been in so many movies, he's been acting since super young he was in Gladiator when he was only 9 hrs old!
Rode it the day before, you're right the dirt is great!

I bet I still have sand stuck in my linkage from early 2023 El Prieto. So many water crossings.
🤣 yeah some of the streams were flowing but I've gone where they were raging
I guess that "Roll Tide, Roll" sky writing was a bad omen 😄 Happy New Year Tommy!
🤣 yeah I actually saw that as they were writing it in the sky
I should have done an epic ride like this on new years. Nice one T. Thx for sharing
💯 never too late go hit it this weekend conditions are epic 👌
alpine biking. looks rad! spencer is on 🔥. 💯
Yeah one of the best trails in So Cal 💪
No dancing coffin at 15:35 and no “that’s what she said”…I had to double check I was watching the right YT channel, 😂
🤣 yeah I basically had 2 days to get this edit done so I missed some opportunities for sure
It’s crazy how in the US you have shared tracks. That doesn’t happen here in Australia, it would annoy me 😂
Yeah I think it would be safer if there were hiking only and mtb only trails but unfortunately we have to share so the best way is to be nice even to those mean hikers because we don't want to loose our trails
@@TommyHuynh for sure man. It is what it is and you guys are super nice and respectful which is awesome. Great vids man ✌️
super ride Tommy one of the best

@@TommyHuynh It has many descents and routes of all kinds, very fun and level
Excellent riding boys, happy New Year, peace and stay safe 🙏
Thanks brotha 🙏 Happy New Year! 👊
Nice work
"Happy New Year, brother! It's now 2024. Always remember to ride safely."
Thanks brotha 🙏🙏🙏 happy New Year!
Happy New Year Tommy! Your videos are always awesome - such great riding and fun. Keep it up.
Thanks brotha 🙏 I appreciate the support 👊 Happy New Year!
Spencer could play the part of Aaron Gwin if they ever make a biopic lol.
🤣 yes 💯

Tommy where did you park ? And what road did you go up?
Nice ride Tommy 👍 Is there a way to ride up to Millard trail head and drop in from there? Thanks
I am not sure what Millard trail is but there is a short blue trail above El Prieto that we call single track to Millard camp that you can easily climb up from fire road. I would just go on trail forks or internet and I'm sure you will find out
You haven't been to Wilson in a long ass time!
Yeah it's been almost a year, traffic is so bad now I rarely go to LA but this option saves 2 hrs so maybe I can do it more often
Do you know if they're ever going to get that shuttle service up and running again?
I don't know, I really hope so but I know there's so much red tape and b.s. to get permits
What route are you using to ride up?
I honestly don't know it's the fire road I'm sure you can find details on line
Spencer is a good rider considering he’s only been riding for 4-5 years….
He's a great rider for sure 💪
I used to ride these trail in the 1990s on 26er hardtails with rim brakes and cruddy suspension forks. I know well and good what you mean by exposure.
Damn, you guys look sexy together.❤❤😂
Whoa dude ...no
