  • In this short video I show you how to set a star sprite to be used by particle system in Unity software game you are making. I create a material based on that star sprite and then use it in particle system renderer. Pretty simple and cool technique.

    Glad to see these kinds of tutorials where there's no 10 minutes of pointless blabbing and setting up. I wish more Unity tutorials were straight to the point like this. Thanks a lot!

    Well, it doesn't work... My particles don't have any color when spawned, they are transparent when I use them in the Scene
    They work with the Sprite-Default material, but not with my new Material...
    Edit: Okay, it works now. Shader Particle Standart Unlit is BS and does not work. Had to use Sprites/Default. Now it works

    if you want to have rectangles instead of square particles just set your particle material tiling to Y 1.5 (i had to offset the Y by -0.5 was well because the sprite was behaving weird)

    This is not a sprite, but a texture that you apply to your particle system.

    hey I got a problem. I want to set a sprite from a Tilemap as particle, but I can only assign the whole tilemap and not an individual sprite. Any idea ?

    • @rauschkugelxd4111
      @rauschkugelxd4111 Рік тому

      Just starting out with particle effects, but I think you have to assign the whole tile map and then specify which sprite you want in the 'Texture Sheet Animation' module. For me it worked switching the mode from grid to sprites and choosing the correct sprite.

  • @ArenSpace
    @ArenSpace Рік тому +2

    thats a texture2d, not a sprite.

    • @Chubzdoomer
      @Chubzdoomer Рік тому +6

      Yep. On top of that, there's no need to do any of this. Under the Particle System component, just check "Texture Sheet Animation," switch the Mode to "Sprites," and choose the sprite(s) you want to emit. Done.
