McFerrin is one of the best living live performers. Saw him with Chick Corea and Jack DeJohnette, and asked when he planned to collaborate with West African musicians. SO glad this exists.
As a classical music player, his version of the Ave Maria by Bach/Gounod is one of the most inspiring I've ever seen. You should hear that at least once.
I thank you for doing this review and the person who suggested you should do this review this. I love Richard's vocals and guitar playing never seen anyone so low down the frets before. Bobby and Michael Winslow [the guy from Police Academy who could do sound effects with just his voice] two heroes of this genre. What is wonderful to see how both Bobby and Richard listened to each other and didn't drown the other out. Lovely to watch and hear.
Welcome to my šanel. (Channel like Chanel No. 5) Ta výslovnost hlasové koučky pro tohle jedno slovo mě vždy rozesměje. Jen tak dál. The pronunciation of a voice coach for this one word always makes me laugh. Keep it up.
I remember seeing Bobby in Moscow. He had a tour with improv concerts. He came to each country a week before the concert and met singers from that place, those that he had chosen. Then they performed together, some rehearsed songs and lots of improv.
You can almost literally see the picture they're trying to paint. It's like seeing a bunch of kids playing soccer in a dusty street in the heart of Africa somewhere. Ridiculously brilliant.
bobby is a next level musicbox, keep at it, maaany hidden gems in his shows =) always bringing out different artists or even utilising the audience in his shows and just playing along / with them. An artist in the purest sense.
It amazes me what people can do with their voices. Beautiful, had never heard this before. And it's amazing how you look even more beautifuuuul!! And love the nails!!!
i've been waiting for 4 year for "the sequal" bobby and richard are doing 2 songs back to back during this performance. the second song is about to start just when this video ends, when you say "oh, where are we going now" I would love for you to react to it, or at least hear it! second half is just as good as the song in this reaction! :)
OMG you didnt react to the second half of the video. Where they go hella crazy making all sort of sounds and grooves. HOW DID YOU NOT REACT TO THAT! I was watching the video just waiting for the second half. Btw you had a really sweet reaction to them and you are the only one who reacted to them so props for that.
Probably would never have heard this if it wasn't on your shannell. Beautiful. Love it. Love that wallpaper by the way, and your ombre really suits you!! Xx
Bobby McFerrin is an astounding vocal phenomenon and musical master.....you should also take a listen to Richard Bona in trio with Gerald Toto and Lokua Kanza
wow, what a gift to see u reacting to this incredible duo. make that second part Rebecca, and also u can find the album "Beyond Words" of Bobby that is just insane!
I don't know if they told you already but yes, it is all improvisation and not just this bit, the whole concert is!!! He even does a bit with a Tap dancer. You should totally react to the bit with Jorane, a beautiful singer and cello player, it happens in the same festival (that'sa DVD you NEED to have), it's to die for although is a little less playful than this one. Thank you for this reaction, it's one of my favorite videos EVER. Watching this and Diana Krall is what made me think "before I die I have to go to Montreal International Jazz Festival".
Boot improvised for the first part, it's a song called Dina Lam that you'll find on Richard's album Bonatology (check the first song and the featuring with Salif Keita also(
In the unlikelihood you didn't know, "Don't Worry. Be Happy" was done without any instrumentation. That's ALL Bobby McFerrin. Obviously, his Grammy was well deserved.
It's cool that Rebecca is open to checking out something that's not Top 30 flavour of the month, not that new talent should be ignored, it is also refreshing that you are open to enjoy all styles. Look forward to your Michael Winslow Jimi Hendrix 🎸 reaction!
at birth i wasnt crying . i was chilling . and then my grandfather took me in his hands . thats when i started shouting like a opera singer right off the bet xDDD
For those unaware Bobby McFerrin's father, Robert McFerrin Sr., broke the black male color barrier at the Metropolitan Opera during the same month that Marion Anderson became the first featured black woman. Sidney Portier was dubbed in the 1959 movie Porgy and Bess by McFerrin, Sr. Bobby McFerrin's mother was also an accomplished voice professor.
Love the "burn" highlights today! Bobby McFerrin is just _fascinating_ with all of the sounds he is able to maintain simultaneously, so as to keep a rhythm going. I don't know of anyone else that does what he can do, so truly a wonderfully unique musician indeed :) . Bobby got lots of love and some hate, but always liked the human-rhythm Lyrics O The Day: "Here's a little song I wrote. You might want to sing it note for note... don't worry, be happy. In every life we have some trouble, when you worry you make it double... don't worry, be happy... don't worry, be happy now" Bobby Mcferrin _Don't Worry, Be Happy_
Bobby McFerrin & Richard Bona ,these guys are very talented musicions, excelent voices and Richard is a fantastic bass guitar player.! Rebecca you are gorgeous ! Your vocals lessons helped me a lot.! Thank you !
Thanks Rebecca for this great video! and gratz with the gold plaque!! Everyday I'm refreshing your channel in the hopes of finding you reacting to Tamino - Habibi. Can't wait for your reaction!! Would you consider it?
I been following your videos for quite a while now, and I must say your reaction and how to get into music is why I like your videos so much. I would love if you react to song #3 by stone sour and through the glass by them too. Keep doing this quality videos you're amazing
Hi Rebecca, Please do some of these: Rebel in t he F.G.D. or The great Missconceptions of Me - W.A.S.P. Untouchable pt.1 and 2 (live) - Anathema Haggard - Eppur si Muove Design your Universe (live) - Epica The Scarecrow (The flying Opera live) - Avantasia
If you like this, please give a try to instrumental piece Anouar Brahem - The Astounding Eyes Of Rita. Especially the live version by Anouar Brahem Quartet.
Absolutely excited if you would consider react to my 2 suggestions that i think remarkable vocal and musical sync work. Before you exit - Butterfly effect And other one is risky one cuz its complex and its a prog rock masterpiece. It has man and woman duet vocal in it. Kaipa - Unique when we fall Keep up the good work.
RrrrBeccah! You might do some 'one-singer's-song-in-another's-style': McFerrin sung by Björk, Type O Negative by Pavarotti, whalesongs by blackbirds, etc. I know you' can! Seriously!
Oh my goodness, Bobby fan for years, check out Bobby ave Maria, blackbird, Ted talk on expectations, his masterclass videos. Soooo many good vids of him over the years to uncover
If it's Bobby then it's part improv and part rehearsed. I think at this level of artistry it's much better to leave some of it to the moment. At some point, as a musician, you can certainly over-rehearse or over-practice and kind of corner yourself. These are world class musicians. I don't even think a 'practice' or 'rehearsal' for them would be something I would recognize as such. Just pure sonic beauty.
6:56 Rebecca Vocal Athlete: What is he doing with his chest though? Me: What he has been doing ever since 1983, which just proves that you have never seen or heard anything with Bobby Mcferrin, which is kinda a crime if you wanna call youself a muscian but i guess you don't 😛
The new song i'm recommending to every reaction channel: MaYaN - Saints Don't Die ua-cam.com/video/qTB8hM5T4sk/v-deo.html 5 (!) different style singers !! People known from other bands you've already heard of !!
You’re a beautiful British lass. Kudos from Australia. I will be sending some songs to you from @boddhijohnmusic (insta). Could you do a review of “Human” by Rag and Bone man? Cheers beautiful coach.
McFerrin is one of the best living live performers. Saw him with Chick Corea and Jack DeJohnette, and asked when he planned to collaborate with West African musicians. SO glad this exists.
Richard Bona Is one of the greatest bassists of all time! He's got a powerful voice too!
Very underrated . Bona is a terrific player .
As a classical music player, his version of the Ave Maria by Bach/Gounod is one of the most inspiring I've ever seen. You should hear that at least once.
YES. My first reaction to that was just a string of enraged, worshipful profanities 😁
For me two of the greatest vocal artists of this age, Richard and Bobby wow
This entire concert Bobby did was an entire ride. Whether you react to it publicly or not, I highly recommend the whole thing.
Jordane and he, epic!
I thank you for doing this review and the person who suggested you should do this review this.

The new room looks great and so does the new hair! Love it. And Bobby McFerrin & Richard Bona make a uniquely-beautiful sound. 👍
Yay!! Thanks

thank you!
This whole performance is a master class from bobby and everyone
It amazes me what people can do with their voices. Beautiful, had never heard this before. And it's amazing how you look even more beautifuuuul!! And love the nails!!!
I love this man. McFerrin's amazing range and percussive ability and improv skills... I've adored him for years.
That was a very tropical paradise sound. And I totally love the new studio look!
Damn this is really beautiful, I know these 2 names but I discover this performance, thank you! It's exceptionnal and unique!
What a legend! And Bobby is amazing too!
i've been waiting for 4 year for "the sequal" bobby and richard are doing 2 songs back to back during this performance. the second song is about to start just when this video ends, when you say "oh, where are we going now" I would love for you to react to it, or at least hear it! second half is just as good as the song in this reaction! :)

Sorry the album is called 'Munia the tale', Bonatology is the first song
Bobby McFerrin's acapella version of "Pink Panther Theme" is amazing!
This performance is one of my all time favorites
This is pretty darn cool! I really dig music like this! hahaha, and it's quite late here otherwise I'd of totally tried making that noise. :P
In the unlikelihood you didn't know, "Don't Worry. Be Happy" was done without any instrumentation. That's ALL Bobby McFerrin. Obviously, his Grammy was well deserved.
You too dear ❤️ amazing! Have a great day! Couldnt find you on spotify btw

Yes!!! Agreed!
I love Bobby 💓👏

Thanks! Yes if all goes well 🤓👍
