Something tells me that the humans in this story bubbled themselves mainly because they got sick of being viewed as gods. And if the religious groups made enough "noise" to draw them out again, they would probably come out screaming, "STOP WORSHIPPING US, YOU TWATS!!!"
More than likely it was because they Advanced too far with their tech tree and when they uplifted civilizations they went too far thinking the tech was low tier and the race destroyed themselves. Probably retreated to work on their own tech until the uplifted civilizations were ready to bypass the "void" on their own as a test. Only then would they interact with other civilizations. Like now the other civilizations have religions arguing with scientists and they are starting "Holy Wars". They know they are just an Advance rave yet they deify them anyway, proving they are not ready. If not for a genocide right on the border they probably wouldn't have left the void to help.
I always enjoy stories featuring humans as a precursor species, especially seeing as how at the moment it actually seems like the most likely possibility.
its scary looking into the void and wondering if you are alone in the universe. its scarier and more stressful to realize that you are indeed the only sentient life in the universe. that is why people are hopeful that there is life out there beyond us

I can relate to the main character in this story because I can point to at least 8 times in my life that there’s no reasonable explanation for why I lived let alone didn’t suffer injury except for divine intervention and lots of people have told me that it’s because god has a plan for me.
