Will never forget this play....ever!
I was there
Man you When you think Ahmad Rashad you think NBA and forget he was a Football Superstar and won the heisman
Real Talk With J.D. i knew I heard that name somewhere. There’s a video of him hosting a show called Caesar’s Challenge.
He didn't win the Heisman, but he was an All-American.
I'm todays years old when I found out, man of many talents
I don't. The first thing I think of, when I hear the name Ahmad Rashad, is this play right here. Knocked the Lions out of the playoffs. That damn Ahmad Rashad!
He DID NOT win the Heisman. Please
I'm a Browns' fan, but I live in St. Paul, so I got tickets. I remember being stunned by what I saw, and not quite believing it. Fortunately, the Browns clinched the division title the next week. Unfortunately, their high points since then have been few and far between. However, it is one of the great moments in Viking history, and if you're a Viking fan, and you see this, and you don't get lump in your throat and a tear in your eye, then you're somebody I don't want to know.
You sure about that? My recollection was that this was the last game of the regular season, and that my Lions were in line to win the NFC Central, until this play when Rashad's grab and the Minny victory made them division champs and knocked the Lions out
@@konstantinov Second to last game of the regular season. I just checked that on Pro Football Reference. The Vikings were 9-6 after this game, the Lions were 8-7, and the Vikes lost and Lions won their respective last games. I'm not sure what the tiebreaker was, but it might have been the combined score of Vikes 41 - Lions 27 in their two games that season: you spanked us 27-7, but we whomped you 34-0. If that was the tiebreaker, then yeah, the win over the Browns got us the playoff spot because there was no way the Lions could have ended the season with a better record; you needed the Vikes to lose both of their last two games.
Now that's the Inside Stuff!
The good old days back when football was football.
Tell me about it.
Wish i was around then
I was 11 y.o., and remember whatever game I was watching switch to this one. They replayed it over and over....incredible win, and Kramer's stats are/were insane for this game.
Yes I was in the stadium and that was the purple people eaters game
Ahmad rashad then was the best sideline reporter for the NBA on NBC
Never knew Ahmad Rashad played football LOL
Yes he did Gantz is Sloppy. Long suffering Lions fan here. He was damn good too. If he wasn't killing the Lions directly, he was doing it indirectly like on this play. That catch knocked the Lions out of the playoffs that year.
Little did we know that Ahmed Rashad would be more popular as Michael Jordan's personal interviewer during his time on NBC.
Ha ha the commentators reactions.
"RESHAAAWDih" 😝
Knocked my Detroit Lions out of a playoff spot with that grab , knocked them out of the playoffs on the last play of the regular season.. Still burns my blood to this day. I hate you Ahmad Rashad.
As a Packers fan I concur.
Lion fan here konstantinov. I feel you. That play is burned in my memory as well.
@@dizbang3073 I guess he killed you guys too. Hunh? I'm not surprised. Rashad was great for Minnesota.
this the same Ahmad Rashad who used to host Real TV ?
yep
Excellent play!
I remember Two-minute Tommy.
i was watching that game with my dad
Let's go Vikings
Some of Kurt Warner's best work right here
I'm back here after seeing the Minneapolis Miracle
Stefon Diggs Miracle at the Bank
He said thx m8 have a good day
why does it seem like all the players movements are incredibly slow in these long time ago games?
+HiddenLongshot Maybe cause the footage is slowed down
The video/camera qualities were bad back then.
HiddenLongshot
Because that is how they played back then. In slow motion.
why does it have a pic of the Rams and Vikings
True lol
They were the cleavland rams
l.a. had the rams at the time. cleveland had it a while back
dang
Couldn’t watch em for about 8 years
Better than the obj catch
Fuck no
Not even close this was tipped for him while he was not moving so easy will obj dove back extended his arm & caught the football with three fingers
That's right you little bitch, Exectutioner! Shut the fuck up!
The young talking about Rashad for NBA.... educate yourself.
The thumbnail wasn't right
I grew up watching Ahmad Rashad in Reading Rainbow.. never knew he was a famous athlete.
Funny but if Darden doesn't tip the ball Brown's CB Ron Bolton (also #28) looks like he has a good chance of picking it off.
15 sec ad for 30 sec video 😐
of corse it the browns
Still hate Tommy Kramer and Ahmad Rashad to this for this.
Ahh the Browns.
Who that Adrian Peterson ?
+ReeseTheComedian Ahmad Rashad. It's in the title.
+ReeseTheComedian Wtf. I know you aren't that stupid. AD wasn't even born back then.
im joking relax
Cleveland always finds a way to loose
Right. The Broncos, in '86, '87 and '89.
@@mtntime1 You do realize that the Broncos lost each of those subsequent Super Bowls, right? And unlike the Browns losing to your Broncos in the playoffs, you guys didn't even make any of those Super Bowls close, right?
obj can't do this
damn
+Odell Beckham Sr. He actually caught it with his left. :p
+JustOne Night he could be left handed
+Anthony Reyes he isn't
+Cesar Galvez doubtful
all these hail Mary videos came that Detroit game smh
Wait... Was that the Browns in the... WILDCARD! Omg
And the Browns won the AFC Central the next week. They then returned to form and lost a playoff game they would have won by kicking a very short field goal, by throwing an interception in the end zone ("Red Right 88"). But you wouldn't know what I'm talking about I'm sure.
Wasn't all that lol
Yea son, no one will ever beat your amazing catch.
+Odell Beckham Sr. W
The original catch this was caught when you were still a sperm cell
respect their generation... Bitch you weren't even born yet
+Odell Beckham Jr. #Odeezy #13Hunnit #OdellBlock thats sad you have to impersonate someone else because your life sucks
#betterthanodell
No gloves, No problem! The NFL needs to ban those damn receiver gloves. Odell Beckham Jr. wouldn't look so amazing if he didn't have those gloves. In fact no receiver would.
As a long suffering Lions fan,, I gave this video a thumbs down. Yes I hated on Ahmad. He knocked the Lions out of the playoffs that year with that catch. I'm still suffering from PTCatchD.
The ball was deflated
😂😂😂😂😂
All the Cleveland insults. Through 1995, when they were the old Browns, as opposed to the expansion Browns, the Browns had the best franchise winning percentage of any NFL team. Since 1999, they've been by far and away the worst team of course. Point it, the two teams shoudn't be confused. They share a name is all.
How did your Browns do in '86, '87 and '89? The good old days of: The Drive, The Fumble, and The Buzzsaw, courtesy of John Elway.
@@mtntime1 Each of which was followed by a truly ugly Super Bowl loss, none of them even close.
poor Browns just cant win
any WR can do this lmao it was a tipped pass right to the guy so I'm pretty sure anyone from OBJ to fuckin, miles Austin can do this
Miles Austin can't catch a cold lol.
+Odell Beckham Sr. ur son dropped it
+Odell Beckham Sr. Odell beckham dropped it against the patriots that could have been a game winner. Check
+IdkMyUserName ! He didn't drop it it got knocked out of his hands.
Odell can't do that without gloves
Huh. I wonder if, with today's rules, that would've been considered a catch. Looks like he was moving it around as he went out of bounds. Crappy rule anyway.
