The story of neo-cool Enid (Thora Birch) and Rebecca (Scarlett Johansson) who, faced with graduation from high school, take a hard look at the world they wryly observe and decide what they really want. When Enid takes an interest in the offbeat Seymour (Steve Buscemi) and Rebecca focuses her attention on their mutual romantic fixation Josh (Brad Renfro), the girls' friendship is forever changed.

Ok the main problem I have is…how does Enid fail art? So unrealistic. And why does the summer teacher look like don knotts sister ?
It's really just a plot device but it makes sense enough to believe Enid's raw talent gets her noticed.
And did seymour get fired from work ? Did enid get the coom piece back? Did seymour get back with that girl he liked?

It ends like that because it was meant to be Ambiguous!
She Failed Art, Because she put the Teacher in a Position she she Shouldn’t have done!
She hides her personal issues, and has no idea how to be considerate of other’s feelings until the very end of the film.
