Thanks for watching my first attempt at making the most perfect, custom fit climbing shoes! In this video, I made a plaster model of my foot which I then put in a new pair of climbing shoes (rock boots) to stretch them out and get the perfect fit. I am really excited by how well everything went in this video, and I hope to improve the design in the future. I really like the idea of having climbing shoes that are still snug, but don't apply unequal pressure to different parts of your foot. Stay tuned for the next part where we will make a foot out of metal to really see what this idea can achieve!
The meme potential of this video is unbelievable!!!!!
Love the chaotic energy when mixing the powder haha can't wait to see your forge set up
I think I'm gonna recycle a propane tank to make the forge, we'll see how it goes lol
I was looking for break in methods... Didn't expect to go back to you
Nice pro tactics though
your S.O. must be a saint 😂. this is gold
this is a genius idea
LOL when you get yelled at for mixing inside
absolutely love to see this follow-up! There's got to be a more practical material though for a tougher mould 😅. Maybe fill with some sort of resin?
I'm actually in the process of a follow up video rn!
@@ClimbingStuff How's the process going?
This video triggered my OCD big time.
stick wire in the toes
essentially rebar
Hey, nice video ya got here! Not me actually considering doing this now.
this is hilarious
What an awesome video, I was dying laughing several times
ClimbX's are goated
I ate while watching this video and almost throwed up at least 2 times 😂
Man just mix it in the shoebox
You probably should have scrunched up your foot while making the mold so that the mold would be in the same shape that your foot would be inside a climbing shoe.
What? He explained pretty clearly that he was doing exactly that
The simplest way will take about an hour, out your shoes in the oven at about 85c, after fifteen mins take them out and then with a pair of thin socks on, get into the shoes, tighten how you would like, then put another pair of socks over the shoes and just go for a little walk about your house until the shoes cool down, make sure you spend a bit of time on your toes. And there you go, now your shoes will be perfectly broken in, and it’s taken you maybe 45-60mins
Why would you walk around in them? That makes your foot take in more space, the shoes are meant for climbing and not for walking ...
That’s a good wife right there
Lets make a new update with a better shoe
Concrete next time maybe.
You should start a business, lol
Great video, you are such a disaster in the kitchen
sorry, but quite a bubbish method of breaking in climbing shoes
Sorry, but quite a bubbish method of commenting.
Awesome idea excuted well and he made it fun and shared it with us all.

You are damned right. If you have more fun breaking in your new climbing shoes by using the most time-consuming technique possible, and less by climbing itself, then he has probably found the best method...
But somehow I suspect that this brilliant idea won't catch on. similar to diet water, the DVD rewinder, or the banana-cutter...
