    I took out the Assassin this morning. It is paired with a 7' Hellbent from No 8 tackle company. It was more than I expected. The braking system on the Assassin is considerably superior to the Stealth. It was a rare day to take the Stealth out and not get a nest. It could be done but I could never get aggressive with my cast. I still love the reel but it had its limits. The Assassin was a different story. I could not get it to nest period. I had the brakes set way below what I would set the Stealth to. I was able to really turn it loose. The reel is shockingly lightweight. I was genuinely impressed by the Assassin today.

      Gene Ford how about the reeling in.. Stealth felt rough compared to Spartacus.. So wondering how assassin feel?

      Kaidi Chan The retrieve was great. The reel needed lubrication, thats not unusual. It smoothed out nicely with some reel butter lube.

    I really like the comparison of the two. The only thing "I" was not clear on was when you were talking about the line capacity was if it was mono, braid, or whatever? The reels Look GREAT though!

    I just got one and I have to say it's really nice. Casts super far and it's very difficult to get bird nests. It gets less over runs than my lews tournament mb.

    Once you put your backing on if you change your line once a month our what ever I only put 50 to 60 yards on. Then when you start feeling or seeing your line splice change your line again. That way your not putting 50 yards of usable line on the back of the reel.

    Is better to spool it all the way? Will it affect the casting distance?

    • @KastKing
      @KastKing  6 років тому

      You want to make sure to leave at very little bit of your spool showing on the sides. About 1/8 to 1/16th of an inch. It doesn't necessarily help with casting distance but is more of a personal preference or you could look at it as getting the most line on your reel that you can in hopes that you hook into a BIG FISH and want as much line to battler that fish!

    Hi. I got stealth and Spartacus. Both cast really well but stealth need more brake as spool is lighter.. But significantly, Spartacus felt much more smooth when reeling in. Just wonder how does assassin compare to stealth when reeling in?

    • @KastKing
      @KastKing  7 років тому

      Both are similar. We have many reviews coming out that will answer your question. The Assassin will feel lighter because of the difference in weight.

    does having holes in the sides of the spool affect the magnetic braking?

    • @southeastwisconsinkayakfis8526
      @southeastwisconsinkayakfis8526 7 років тому

      I actually picked one up and to answer my own question, no on this reel the magnets interact with the centrifugal brake cover not the spool directly like on the stealth.
      The assassin is really nice and casts just as good as my Lews Tournament MB.

    sorry I'm mildly confused is that the left handed or right handed? on every website I look, some say left handed but pictures show left handed retrieve. can some one please explain it. mind you I'm alittle slow due to head trama.

    • @KastKing
      @KastKing  7 років тому

      Left hand retrieve means you retrieve the line with your left hand.
      Right hand retrieve means you retrieve the line with your right hand.
      Sometimes the pictures are just stock photos and show the product. You
      have to select what retrieve you want, either left or right handed.

      This is not a saltwater rated reel. If someone used this reel in the salt they would have to make sure to clean it very well with freshwater after every use to ensure proper working conditions.

    I might have bought this reel for my first KastKing product but the 6.3.1 gear ratio holds me back. IMO they should of made one higher than 7.0.1 ratio. Most ppl want the higher ratios and I believe they would have sold more reels if they did so. But like most ppl, I already have quite a few 6.3.1 or 6.4.1 reels. So really hoping they atleast make this Assassin in their 7.0.1 ratio so I can try it. Seems the majority want higher speed reels.

    • @KastKing
      @KastKing  7 років тому +2

      Check out the new KastKing Speed Demon 9.3:1 ratio, 12 + 1 bearings, 4 disk carbon fiber drag,. :)

    • @SabbathTheBlack
      @SabbathTheBlack 7 років тому

      9.3.1 ratio?? I prefer 7.1.1 to 8.3.1 for high speed ratios. You start losing power and torque which is my concern with the Speed Demon. I checked it out and they are currently unavailable on amazon. Kastking already has the 6.3.1 Spartacus reel so why they chose to make the Assassin the same not sure. I really like the Assassin out of all of em mainly cuz the dual braking system. Also the overall size and weight seem great. But thanks and maybe they will make one similar to the Assassin with dual brakes, lightweight in a 7.1.1 or 8.1.1. Thanks and happy holidays
