+Rick Shiels Golf Channel Rick, any idea if Taylormade will bring on a Mini Driver in the M Range? I am a player who struggles with driver but very good with 3 wood(260metres). Bought and Aeroburner Mini and I'm hitting it 275-280metres. Like to keep the bag updated tho
Watching these back as got some jpx. But how different does Rick look to nowadays😂. Baby face here.
Yeah, liking the software upgrade.
Loving the new FSX software its a nice touch and adds even more class to the videos. Keep up the great work and cheers from Boston, Massachusetts.
I love that upgrade on the softwhere
*software
+Marco A Monrouzeau I agree I thought it looked much better
Bought these for myself at Christmas. I completely agree on the boxiness of the lower clubs. Just look a little too chunky standing over the ball, even for me - playing at a 11 hcp. I actually replaced the PW and GW with the S5 blue wedges. The irons play great though. They go high and far, and land soft. Miss-hits are not punished much. I miss low and off the toe occasionally and only sacrifice a few yards in distance and line.
after watching your video Rick went and bought a set of EZ forged absolutely love them I love the feel and the distance you are right it took awhile to get used to the way but once I did I absolutely loved it you are very accurate spot on on your assessment of these clubs thanks
Love the new software. Rick, these are my favorite type of videos on UA-cam.
Nice one thanks, I just bought the JPX forged, I have been looking for a replacement for my Ben Hogan Apex plus but couldn't find anything until now. When I put the 7 irons up to each other there almost identical but like you said a little bit more boxier, but that's what I was looking for, a little more forgiveness, and the feeling of security. As I'm playing to a 12 now, when I bought the Apex I was a 9. I'm very happy very smooth to hit and my miss hit are not so off. Great Clubs
I'm making the same transition from the Apex plus to the Mizuno EZ forged. I'm hoping for a little more distance and forgiveness. I found a great deal on a lightly used set of EZ's but havent had a chance to hit them yet. These were as close as I could find in a modern club to the Hogans. The Hogans are so buttery when hit well, and are such great looking clubs. But, I'm hoping that 20 years of golf club development will make a difference, especially on the long irons.
These are my irons and I completely agree with everything you said about them, especially the PW being way too boxylooking
love the new software and loved the review of the mizuno clubs
You sound like Rick but I’m not sure who that is on the video there lol. Great video, I came to look up my current irons hoping I could get talked out of buying new ones and I think it’s safe to say this Rick Shiels voice impersonator has convinced me to keep the Mizuno’s I’ve got !! Thanks Rick!
love the new software. Solid review as always
Playing Nike vapor fly pro irons but now Nike have stopped making clubs would these be a good swap
been waiting for this review for a long time. glad you were able to get your hands on a set. just made my weekend. now if only i could get my hands on them to try out.
also like the new software too.
New software looks great. Would be useful to see a comparison in club head sizes as you said the Mizunos looks so large, apart from that a great vid.
Love the new software Rick! Looks awesome in HD!
Like the review. Really like the new software. Keep up the great work...Cheers from Nova Scotia...
Great review Rick and liking the new software....
The new software is awesome. Definitely makes the video much more enjoyable (not that they werent before!)
I would like to say that the new software looks awesome, and I would agree that these irons are little to chunky on appearance. Good review Rick
i'm a 5 HCP and these are great! Just shot a 74...make sure you get the xp 95 shafts in stiff. can't go wrong!
Love the new graphics on the simulator Rick!
If you dont like to practice how do you plan on qualifying for the open
Very nice looking update! Good review aswell.
I like the fact that these are chunkier distant irons yet the lofts and length aren't cranked up too much. Compared to their MP-4 they are only 2 degrees stronger and are the exact same length across the set. That's not a huge difference at all, atleast compared to the difference between other companies distance irons and their tour irons.
Pretty impressive performance on these clubs. Maybe you should try to adapt to the offset and the looks...........you hit them very well if you can adjust to the offset. Like the look the new software produces. Nice review!
You should put these in the bag. Looks great. Feels nice. More forgiving. Perfect for you quest for the open.
Love the new simulator software Rick!
Great review and loving the new software
They are heavy and hold their line well which builds confidence.
How about a series of golf ball reviews. Or does Titleist beat all other balls hands down?
Really like the new software - looks great. Nice review.
I like the new software. Great video Rick!
"I don't like to practice"......... Rick how do you plan on qualifying for the open?
FSX software gets a big thumbs up! Great review
new software looks great rick.
Loving the new software great upgrade
You should do a video all its own on that software, looks awesome!
Is it an upgrade for the GC2 or a third party option that you added in to your technology?
Oh yeah, the irons look alright too 😬
Thanks!
It's a the Foresight Sports new Software platform 👍👍
+Justin Sandler awesome, Thanks! I've been pretty much sold on the SkyTrak system for my house but the more I learn about what CG2 offers now and continues to create, I wonder if the extra investment would be worth it in the long run. Always keeping my eye open for people selling their used GC2 units to make it an easier decision for me!
love that new software, good review!
like the new software, love the look of the clubs.hopeing to try them out soon
Cool review Mr Shiels. It's going to take alot to prise me away from my MP30`s. Especially now l have had them custom fitted. 😊
My mates just got fitted for a set of these at American golf an paid 700quid Rick!! Really nice irons to hit. He got fitted with Kbs shafts
love the new software! must say though and i have watched many of your videos and you always seem to have a draw/hook i don't think its based on the slight offset watching turnover of the forearms may reduce that
Love your reviews rick! Any way you could review the Cobra King F6 irons?! Thanks!
I like the new software look! But, I paid for one of your online lessons and filled out the evaluation sheet with clips of my swing. It's been like almost a month now and I still haven't gotten my lesson back. Just wondering what is up Rick.
Absolutely love the new software
Need more reviews or club vs club mate.
New software looks absolutely mint!
Love the Irons and the software update is excellent, keep up the good work mate.
Apex Pro 16 or Apex CF 16 reviews?
Almost two years ago you reviewed the original version of the JPX EZ-Forged (with the orange colored trim in the back cavity), which are a set of irons that I own. You seem to be carrying the new model about 5 yds more with the 7 iron, with an apex about 2 yds higher as well. Do you have any opinion as to comparisons between the two versions?
Think I'll definitely be trying these
Superb irons I got fitted for them and they feel amazing. Selling for near the $AUD200 per iron so yes they are pricey but they are for a 20 - 36handicapper heavier accent on the top end of that as well do have the offset which is draw biased especially for high handicap golfers who leak to the fade more than they ideally want to which is me LOL
amazing software upgrade. nice mizuno irons. wonder if i should change from my ap2s.
love the upgrade to the gc2
Great vid rick
Been playing my orange jpx ex forged for 7 years and I don’t think I’ll ever upgrade them! Does mizuno have anything comparable to the EZ nowadays?
Like the new software Rick really looks good
Hi Rick, nice review as always. I'm a beginner and willing to buy my first set of clubs, I know I should go for a ping gmax or equivalent but I love the look of those Mizuno EZ Forged. Would you say it's too hard for a beginner ? I'd like to chose clubs I'll like to hit balls with, but I want to progress too... I need advice here :) thx !
Wow! Is that Mount Blackpool in the background?
That new software is really nice
Hi Rick just a quick question I see when you hit the pitching wedge it as 45 degrees but when you launch the ball it is coming off at 24 why is it some delofted and is is this a true reading that most people deloft by some much thanks Barry South Wales
Cool SW upgrade Rick
Rick can you please review the Callaway Apex MB or Muscleback irons, I'm thinking about purchasing them and would love to ear what you think.
Liking the new software , Rick .
The new software is amazing. I really like the graphics. Someday I hope the price of a gc 2 comes down.
Great channel Rick! Do you know if there's any difference between these and the older jpg ez
Jpx*
love the new technology and I know what you mean about the irons big head but soft feel
Love the new graphics!
Great new software!
Beauty clubs!
Does anyone have a review of the JPX EZ forged vs the older 850 forged? The 850 forged are a couple years older, but I've heard the the feel is better on the 850 forged and golf digest also rates the 850s higher.
Rick, can you please do a ping g driver vs a taylormade m2
What glove are you wearing? As you would say it looks quite smaht.
That's a naughty fade ya rockin there Rick mate! Very tight on the sides!!
draw*
+Jaxon Shelton his hair!!!
lol.
+Rhys Jones It's the only fade he'll ever see!
Great Review
Love everything except the top line the offset of these. The new software is sick.
Nothing feels like a Mizuno, my MX25's are whimpering in the bag right now - as will be trying these
I replaced my MX 25s with these 2 months ago and I'm very happy with the decision. I gained a club from a distance perspective which I needed!
Can get these at a great price may go for it
Lovin the new update
Just gonna buy them in 30 mins!!!
I would love feels wonderful, but say compared with MP25 or even the JPX 850 Forged (Mizuno has way too many club variations now). I play Mizuno, know the "feel" piece, JPX to me, not the feel, and I have to figure this will be nice but it isn't the traditional Mizuno feel. I know mid-handicap wise that I am I should be placed here but I still lean to MP25.
That wedge head is too ugly.
That is a cool update to the software.
Lovely clubs but I will stick with my H5's for now. Thanks for vid Rick.
well H5's are a "slightly" different kettle of fish..
and bloody gorgeous 👍
Adam Flynn Thanks Adam. I think we are talking shades of excellence here, because I love the EZ irons too.
I'm a big mizuno fan but these are too offset for me (which is why I think Rick is pulling them a smidgen)
I am a chrome till I die person but these irons do look great..the faces are still chrome in colour which is what I like so the smokey finish around the face works for me.
These clubs do look very forgiving but if that's what u either want or need go get them
mizuno don't give stuff away but these are similar in price (lower actually) than some of the other top brands in this category
Having used mizuno for the last...uhmmm more years than I care to mention haha.
I can tell you it is true "nothing feels like a mizuno"
and nobody does irons better 👍
like the software... wonder what the driver is like
Love the new software
does spin plays a big part on the distance ?
With a 6i Apex pro ( C TAPER X shaft), my ball speed was 134-138, launch angle 19-21° and 5800-6100 spin, but was only carrying 172-176m ( Trackman normalized), My spin looks good but i expected to get more carry ??
190yd carry with a 6i off mid130s ball speed is very good and the spin is spot on. Spin does play a huge part on distance. Were you on the GC2 when you get these readings?
Well trackman indoor. Ball was Nike rzn black
+CMBelite-FR the numbers are spot on, efficient too.. The spin is very good.. If you want more carry I would just play around a bit with your ball position and impact alignments
I'm buying these clubs.... stiff flex or regular flex. I'm a +24 golfer
regular I think, but depend on your club speed, but most of the players that have more than +14 of handicap use regular flex.
Fresh trim Rick 😉
Rick - great review. Quick question for you from this - would you still take looks and appearance over the performance of a club? Even though you didnt like the aspects of the appearance of these Mizuno's, the numbers were very good. I guess this is a great example of when you hear tour players preferring feel then stats. Example: Sneds was using old TM driver last season, Taylor at Pebble had RBZ Stage 2 this season and so on. Have to say I like these Mizuno's, I think they are coming out with some great gear. Will you be testing the EZ driver soon?
Trying to decide these or jpx 850
Just bought these as you say "Luuvve them"
nice to see other people with these irons, been playing them for about a year now. have fun with them
Yep, are expensive. About 700\750 pnds without fitting. But looks great!
These irons aren't that expensive and grips and shafts have no upcharges and I haven't been charged for fitting for my mizunos but not sure where u go to pay so much?
+Adam Flynn u'r right. Unfitted 5-sw about 595,00 pounds. Sorry
+Gianmarco Balsamo Quite too much or not? I'm not sure....
No not in my opinion..u can have any shaft or grip and similar products from other companies are more expensive and charge extra for different shafts and grips. These irons as Rick said are top quality and if they are the type of irons u need u will not get anything bettered
+Adam Flynn I absolutely agree. Mizuno quality is out of any dubs. But, for me and also for my game, i'd prefer Xr or Jpx 850 total customfitted (also online as well) and spend 100 pounds less. Are 2015 models, yes, but still great clubs. My opinion!
Christ....wish I could hit a 190yd 7 lol
Epic software upgrade. GC2 is killing Trackman price/performance.
favorite cb forged irons in the past 2 years? for a 8 -10 handicapper. recommendations?
what shaft did you have in these?
offset does not make the ball go left. It is to get higher launch. Old wives tale that offset affects direction.
Great software
They are $999. Same price as the jpx-850, mp-54, mp-25. All which look better than the EZ.
Pitching wedge is too big and chunky. You loved Ping G irons. They are bigger and chunkier. Aren't they?
Ya but what he said was that the g irons look thin
what shafts were used in this video? has anyone gamed these yet? I'm looking at buying but the stock TT XP 95 seems a little light thinking about going with the KBS tours
Kalvin Matthews are you going stiff or regular flex on the shaft?
Oli B Stiff flex
Kalvin Matthews let us know what shaft you get. And please add your swing speed. I like this thinking about getting a new set. My current hand me down set is from the 80's as 1980. Shooting high 90's after 6 months.
