Hi Abby, We tend to pick the gauge of wire that visually has the right weight for a project. And fits the beads, of course. We do think 20-gauge would look nice with these chunky beads! J&K

Have you tried using 20 gauge wire? It would maybe hold up better than a thinner gauge. Very pretty. I love labradorite!
