Kai yesterday told us that his mom cried after watching the film and said it’s actually a story about jongin’s life itself, and now I don’t wanna know what’s the story behind all of this
We have a working theory in tw the Say you love me part being all bloody is half his love for horror films and half him talking about those times when he had injuries back to back, with very little time to recover. The part of Sinner it could he the change from Jongin to Kai or it could be about going to the stage and give you all even when you are in a bad moment/day/whatever.
Sliding would be him showcasing his two passions growing up! Dancing and reading
Kai once said how when he was young he spent most of his time in the library reading books. He had to transfer schools a lot, because of his father's job, so didn't have a lot of friends. That's why he immersed himself in books at the library since elementary school.
The Slidin' part may represent him taking comfort in books when he feels lost.
I think we are so lucky to witness such dynamic and talented artist like kai in our lifetime, because he is one of a kind ARTIST, WHO IS SO SERIOUS ABOUT HIS ART AND CRAFT..
Kai is such a great inspiration for me that I can't even describe it, he surprises me more and more. I'm grateful to fate that I was able to discover him almost 3 years ago, because thanks to it I gained strength and additionally I met the whole EXO, which became my beloved band in general, not only in kpop. I'm so proud of hiiiim 🥺♥️
For me the 'Hands' in 'Say You Love Me' represents us, the fans. Kai has worked hard to capture our hearts over the years and the chorus is his mission statement. He's been there for everyone through life and now that he's integrated in our lives there's no escape. The running, staircase/corridors, no privacy. The doors, he's locked in and can never leave. It's the price of fame he has to pay. Lyrically it's wanting to be loved but the way he flipped it, be careful what you wish for. Great reaction, the only thing I think he's kept from EXO in his solo's is his teleportation power.
Thanks for reacting to Kai! The Film is another masterpiece by him. In the last episode, when he runs/dances with 8 other men it again gave me the reference to EXo as in the first Film. Kai's Center of EXO, he's again surrounded by 8 men and what they do mostly resembles a race or some physical exercise than dancing (to me it's a reminder that EXO train to sing on treadmills to keep up the breath) and Kai starts alone dancing and after the stage with EXO comes back to his being alone with his usual thoughts. Sinner for me has also an appeal to fans: I'm not perfect, I'm a sinful as any other, no need to put me on a pedestal, but without you I can't exist as Kai, I live when you see me on stage, all the rest - contemplating and planning what to do on stage to create a new piece of art.
Film Kai is deep. It’s that kind of thing you can think deep and enjoy it. Black mirror and hello stranger as the opening remarks of their respective films, have extremely exquisite and neat echoes. From the theme to vision,dance,ending..
Kai's films don't go hand in hand with the group concept, perhaps the mvs, but his films are his stories about himself and his feelings. After the FILM comes out, he goes live on Instagram and explains a little about.

Kai has often been shown in corridors and knocking (it is linked to his teleportation) and also being lost or in maze like scenarios. You can look out for it now! Some people comment on him being the door opener (hence his name Kai) and first to be seen as showing that his ability to reach the others and move them is central to EXO - note his role in Mama. This thought often leads to the idea that he is constantly being chased, maybe with the aim that if he is captured, EXO will not be able to come together to fight or escape their enemies.
I love how genius Kai's work is to allow you such freedom of imagination and the inspiration to create, more so to me than any of the others. We can see so many ideas and choose to thread any route. For example, on one level Black Mirror makes me wonder how many struggles he went through as a boy / man because of his love of ballet. His outfit reminds me of tattered ballet clothes - the short cardigan, the broken white leotard, the leg warmers - yet the lyrics make me think of experiences with the nastier side of social media. Pure genius.

I kinda think the same about it all as you have, but one thing I've picked up about his part in Slidin' where he uses the book in his choreo: Kai is known to be an avid reader in the group... ever since he was a kid, he took to books because he didn't have a lot of friends... and even during EXO times, he'd often be seen reading and recommending books when asked. So in this film it almost seems that he's taking shelter in his comfort place (i.e. books), or recuperating from whatever happened that led up to the events of Say You Love Me.... but then in the back of his mind he knows how he's struggling... or it's the reality of his situation, and that's how Sinner comes in...

Sinner is my favorite song to. The clip in film is beautiful. His name is Kai (Chinese : Open), and he can't open a wall.😢
I think the Films that Kai releases are more of a reflection of Kai’s life and has more of a deeply personal meaning for him. But you can still correlate the overarching concept of this particular Film and album to the EXO concept. In the EXO lore, the members were separated at some point and Kai was the one teleporting everywhere searching for the members (from MAMA MV and the VCR footage for their Elyxion concerts), essentially making him a wanderer or a Rover. And since their concept is that they’re aliens from EXOplanet, the fallen angel theme also makes sense if you’re familiar with the Ancient Aliens theory, where they propose that the Nephilims, or fallen angels from the Bible, and other mythological gods from ancient cultures around the world are actually aliens that that visited earth eons ago.

I find very difficult to separate Kai's solos from the Exo storyline and like Kim JongIn the person because, while the FILM stuff are direct realated to his personal life, the way JongIn talks about "KAI" like they are not the same person always send me back to look at it by the EXO lens. It's close to DPR IAN Mitto thing, Mitto and IAN aren't the same person but Mitto storyline is something IAN created and he takes that role (but he is bipolae so). In that way I see KAI almost like an alter ego or something of sorts. The character KAI in EXO or in the solos is the same but the story told is different, like JongIn the person is using KAI the character to tell his own story in a way. And I can't help but get impressed by everything he does, and how it has a clear enough storyline and space for multiple interpretations at the same time. Simply a genius.
I was hoping to see the wings in the Sinner portion of the film but alas it was not to be.😥 But I loved it anyway. As I watched Sinner, it occurred to me that his impending military service may be on his mind as well. So I do think Film:Kai is more about him personally than it is about EXO. However, that said, he promotes EXO as often and as much as he can so you maybe right. And one of the many reasons I love EXO is how much the members love and support their group and each other and they all know they would not be where they are today without EXO.

their solo activities are like spin off parts of the main story . they are connected but not directly
I think you need to see exo's exordium and elyxion concert tour vcrs. They explained a lot about what happened to exo, and the link between their mvs story line
Did you see the wings in Rover clip? those are his wings (from teaser images he had wings) he probably cut those off himself.

It's totally not related but (in Slidin) whenever I see a man in a suit/tie dance in a room that keeps changing up/down... I think of Fred Astaire :)
The black sand is the same sand as the Bomba scene (which would be normal in a horse ring) and the dirt that gets thrown up by the racing car in Rover scene is a similar image to me....
I have no theories though... only feelings

🤨 Mr. Rover was a sample song for Kai's Rover. She literally helped rearranged the song for Kai.
Also sampling other song is like the standard in Kpop. Like 90% of the artists do it... all of the sudden ppl pretending it's a new thing.

Sorry for the criticism, but haters making up rumours for days because of that is already really annoying. So I just wanted to make it clear.
It was brought to my attention and I checked out the original and thought to give it a shout out, why is that weird, if I was aware of other songs or other artists doing that I probably would touch on it as well, and I may have done that before anyway.

@@DGReactsI too want to know why they think it's weird for you to tell people to go check out the original song. Also I think pretty much everyone knows kpop uses a lot of samples. I bet if you hadn't shouted them out some would be like, "You should have shouted out the original singer!!" You're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't.
Literally 10-15% of the comments on my original KAI Rover reaction were about the original Artist lol, you are absolutely right! I gave that shout out simply to show my appreciation, I never actively go for every kpop song to see what sample they used or if they used but if the comments say something or I recognize something in the song, I'll mention it and I don't think it's weird, it doesn't take anything away from KAI or any of the Artists I react to :)
