the end of the mv is a teaser for Exo comeback you can see Kyungsoo and Minseok's powers engraved in the rock because they returned from military around the time for the release of Kai's album :) hope this helps!

This is probably another universe that Kao travelled into. But there's also theory that this place is Kwangnya. Kwangnya is like a metaverse universe. If you watch any other SM artists mv, or heard of their story line you probably heard of Kwangnya. And like I said, Kai can enter the universe whenever he likes. So this was the first look into Kwangnya other than the ones from aespa's mv.

Great reaction. Most of EXO’s videos further their story arc rather than a direct translation of lyrics. The theory, as I’ve heard it (EXO-Ls will correct me): At the end of Obsession, Kai is taken captive by the Red Force (and possibly replaced by a clone). He’s taken to their planet; he can move about freely but he’s being monitored (the drones everywhere, the backup dancers, and the giant eye) He teleports (his superpower) to try to find the others. That’s all I got. (no Baekhyun pun intended!) EXO planet is a rabbit hole unto itself…

@@DGReacts and the last part where you said you would pretend you didn't saw it, that was a sign for D.O. and Xiumin's coming back from military. The stone drops (D.O. power is force) and then it freezes (Xiumin's power is Ice/freeze). Xiumin and D.O.'s logo is also engraved in the stone so that's how we know it's really them.

I have seen a 45 minute video abt the artistic analysis and meaning behind this mv and flim:KAI and this whole mini album songs lyrics and how it all ties to the exo concept and Xkai and why is there time jumps when he teleports and what do they mean and if i want to really sum it up I would say this a very deep and even dark if you may mv

To understand what is happening in Kai's "Mmmh" MV, you have to first understand EXO's storyline and concept.
As a member of an SM group, it shouldn't be a surprise that Kai is such a great singer and performer. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing vocals and dance skills. All of SM's artists were first chosen for their visuals, vocals and/or dance skills, and even the rappers get intense training as vocalists. That is why SM is one of the largest and most influential entertainment companies in Korea and around the world, which is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. And EXO is a group that is a perfect example of that.
Everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in someway to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 10 years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the member's solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story.
From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet EXO and they came to Earth with superpowers on a mission to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and almost every MV will have at least one if not all of them using their powers.
So, each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years, we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us.
Kai's EXO superpower is teleportation, so what you see throughout his "Mmmh" MV is him teleporting.
For example, why you see Kai move a fraction of a frame in the scene when his backup dancers "disappeared," is because they didn't disappear. Kai was the one that moved when he teleported from another time or place at that moment. In other words, he was a fraction of a second off on purpose to show that he was the one moving as he teleported, not the dancers. With what I know about EXO's storyline, nothing is ever random, and even the most minute of details have been designed to give clues and hints within EXO's story. So, even the subtle little details that you might overlook -- such as placing Kai in that shot a fraction of a second off -- could actually be done intentionally.
And, I think, at the very end scene, what you are seeing is SM connecting Kai's solo storyline to EXO's storyline. You see D.O.'s power of earth (dirt) which gives him super strength/force and Xiumin's power to control snow/ice/frost being used. You also see what I think is the emergence of a pyramid, which represents Kai and his superpower -- as part of EXOs storyline, all the members have a symbol that represents them. A pyramid is Kai's symbol and when you see a pyramid within EXO's storyline it represents something to do with Kai.
I also find it interesting that Xiumin returned from the military about a month before this MV was released, and D.O. just returned from the military shortly after its release, so the end scene in "Mmmh" may be SM's way of connecting the events of this MV to D.O.'s and Xiumin's future solo work as well.
If you analyse all the scenes within Kai's MV you would find connections can be made to EXO's storyline and things to do with past EXO MVs and probably even future MVs, as well as SuperM's storyline.
Kai is also a member of SuperM, which is the industry's very first Supergroup. SuperM's concept is that they are "The Avengers of Kpop," and the members are supposed to be superhero-like characters who are coming together to form an Avengers-like group to help EXO defeat the evil Red Force. And, like the majority of SM's groups, all of their storylines and concepts intertwin and connect. For example, in SuperM's "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV, you see Kai being chased by or being aided by drones as he tried to scale a building, in his attempt to stop the Red Force. So, I think the scene in "Mmmh," where you see him looking at the drones hovering around him, has something to do with connections between Kai's solo storyline and SuperM/EXO's MVs.
Also, Kai means opening, as in a door or gateway, so as a member of EXO, Kim JongIn (Kai) was given the stage name Kai because, as the center of the group, he is supposed to be the member who connects everyone together and that is why he was given the ability to teleport. Plus, as part of EXO's storyline, it is thought that the members are traveling between dimensions and time periods throughout history in their quest to find the Tree of Life and to fix all the evil and corruption that is thought to be caused by the Red Force. So, it is thought that what you see in Kai's MV is him traveling between dimensions and across time periods in his search. That is why you see him in so many different locations and scenes in this MV.
There is also a fan theory that the reason why we see Kai with so many different looks and styles in these scenes is because it's not always Kai that we are seeing. Another part of EXO's storyline is that some of the members have evil alter ego clones that have been created by the Red Force. (As we see introduced in EXO's "Obsession" MV.) So, some theories think that sometimes we are seeing Kai's evil X-EXO clone and other times we are seeing superhero, good EXO Kai.
And that eye we see in this MV, although I am not sure what it means yet, I think it's connected to the eye we see in other SM MVs, such as EXO Lay's solo "Namanana" MV and SM's new girl group aespa's "Savage" MV, and maybe even the eye symbol and closeup of the dragon's eye in Lay's solo "Lit" MV. The eyes all look slightly different, but I think they are supposed to be a symbol that connects something within the larger storyline of SM's SM Culture Universe. (Everything SM does is part of one giant storyline like a huge graphic novel or mystery movie series.)
All of the EXO members first solo songs have something to do with the fact that they are members of EXO, and their MVs and songs show them using their powers. D.O.'s MV for his solo debut song "Rose" shows him using his power of force, Baekhyun's debut album City Lights and MV "UN Village" talks about his power to control light, Suho's "Let's Love" MV shows him with his power to control water, and Kai teleports all over in his "Mmmh" MV. As the first EXO member to have a solo career, the majority of Lay's solo MVs tie into EXO's storyline as well. Even in their solo work, everything EXO does is connected to their concept and storyline as members of EXO. :D
Unfortunately, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order. So, we fans have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of everything any of the members of EXO/SuperM are involved in to try and piece it all together and figure out where each part fits within their larger storyline. And the story isn't just limited to their MVs, but it extends to everything EXO is involved in, including teaser videos, live performances, concert VCRs and even a majority of their choreography.
As you can see, EXO's and SM's Universe is extremely complicated and complex, and even the most expert of fans, has trouble following the storyline. The thing is, none of us really know exactly what is happening in the story, it's all just fan theories and educated guesses. SM has never confirmed or denied any of our theories and they have left it completely up to fans to figure out what is happening and to create the story. (We only hope that someday SM will release the book or produce a movie that will explain the whole story, so we will know whether any part of our theories were correct.)

As the main dancer of EXO, Kai is literally one of the top two best dancers in Kpop. And that's not just a fan's opinion, but it's a title given to him by his peers and the the industry as a whole. (Taemin from SHINee -- who happens to be Kai's best friend since trainee days, and is a fellow member of SuperM -- is the other top dancer.) There is literally no one better when it comes to dance than Kai and Taemin.
Kai's love for dance started with jazz and ballet. From a young age, he began training to become a ballet dancer. So he learned form and technique first before any other style of dance. That's why I think you can see such precision in his dancing. As a child, he fell in love with dancing after seeing the Nutcracker and he told his parents that he wanted to do that. So, his whole foundation with dance began with ballet. He says, that if he hadn't been bribed by his father to audition for SM Entertainment, and if he hadn't become a Kpop star, he probably would be a professional ballarino today.
Kai became a trainee with SM when he was about 12 -- he debuted as a member of EXO when he was around 18 -- so he has been honing his skills and dedicating himself to become one of the best in the industry for years. And now, at 28, he has literally been recognized as one of the best of the best.
Kai is a fashion icon and he is highly sought after by some of he biggest names and brands in fashion to be their model and brand ambassador, etc. He is also considered one of the sexiest Kpop idols, and he is known for his super sexy onstage personality. However, when not on stage he is the complete opposite of what you see here. He is actually kind of shy and innocent and he blushes when you compliment him for his looks or his performance.
And... better to watch "Film kai" it's something like MV for his mini album but you can understand it better! It's FIRE! every detail in EXO MVs has a meaning....
It wasn’t until you mentioned it but I totally see how you got the Ghost in the Shell vibes from this video. Usually a lot of reactors say that they get Assassins’ Creed when they see Kai perched on the building edge. I also agree that the song sounds like your in a trance which is why I love it.

In my opinion, it reminded me of the videogame Assassin's Creed, how he is at the peak of the building roof observing the city, also the costumes and the hood-durag and the dancers also wearing those hooded accesories... The videogame kind of relates to SM universe and NCT concepts, how the character connects himself to a machine and as in a dream or parallel reality he gets to live all those different storylines and connect with others
The ending was rocks = force D.O.'s power and frost Xiumin's power (his other EXO members, you also see their symbols on the rock).
It was released few months before they got released from the two years mandatory military service. It was his way of saying "Hey, my bros are coming back, the guys will be with us once again soon!!".

The transitions yesssss 🔥 Kai is so soft, I love his solo work is in the same line. I think he was more involved in Peaches than in this title track, but I can be wrong. Personally, I enjoy Mmh if it jumps in my playlist, but I don't think is r Kai's style. His second album shows more his colors and he looked more comfortable and happy promoting it. Again, just my opinion.
To be honest there's a heavy theory and concept behind all EXO musics and their solo projects and they all are connected to eachother like series and it's too much to be able to talk about in comments..... I'd suggest to start from their first MV "mama" and follow the EXO theories step by step
