I also recommend either using a rubber hose to collect the brake fluid or have it collect on a disposable rag. In this case I wanted you to see the fluid stream.

Look at the threads dude. They are precoated. You don't need to - and shouldn't - add teflon tape to them.

I think it's a good idea to make sure you don't get air bypassing. Do whatever you want.
