We have multiple ways of playing the deck and all of them seem to be good. Time will tell which will be the more dominant strategy.
Considerinng Runick's FPS inspired artwork, Volcanic Runick might be one of the few ways to play the deck without feeling sick 6:59 Adventurer Token too

I'm happy volcanic is like half decent now. Not perfect but I'm a fan. I might play with it a little at locals. Thanks Joseph. This helped get a better idea of what i should or could do with the deck. Your videos are fun as always. Keep it up man.
volcanic emperor and inferno are particularly nasty...and the fact tha inferno adds to recycling bannished cards (great for getting blaze accelerator reload back) makes for great synergy.
I'm very interested in seeing what people cook with these new cards, in large part because performing a Volcanic Emperor jumpscare late-game to dome your opponent for like 4k damage is absolute comedy and exactly the kind of thing I could see people failing to account for in an unfamiliar matchup. Love that type of thing.
Exactly why I’m playing it when it comes out, I anticipate the deck to be able to burn for game on turn 3 relatively consistently with an engine to enable it. So next banlist should be very interesting for many engines.
Jesse Kotton posted a video of this deck relatively pure but teching in a souls engine, awakening of the possessed - greater inari fire and spiritual fire art kurenai. It can FTK pretty damn easily.
I love when MBT throws out MTG references like calling reload a howling mine. I have a feeling a relatively small amount of his audience picks up on things like that, but we appreciate it buddy.
I'm glad that Volcanics got a TMT. I personally wanna have an irl version of Volcanics when the support drops in the TCG. I just don't know what version is the best, even though I personally love Runick's theme. So as MBT suggested, any recommendations are helpful for feedback.
It might not be the strongest deck ever, but this is so fun looking. It's an honest to God control/burn/mill deck and it somehow is still less mindnunbingly cringe than everything in the meta

I've been brewing in MD and it's interesting what 45 cards can do for a deck. Either it's for more interruptions in a deck with a lot of staples, more starters in a deck with a lot of bricks, another archetype when the first can't quite get there by itself or just fewer drawn duplicates in a deck with a lot of 3-of's. If it can accomplish more than one of those things, great! If not, may as well go either 40 or 60.
The "inevitability" of Volcanic Emperor's burn reminds me of having 3 Volcanic Counters in GY and your opponent having big enough beaters for you to crash into.
The Merrli Dragostapelia package in a Runick deck is something I never thought of but seems genius, definitely gonna put that in my Spright Runick deck on MD for when Tear inevitably gets hit and I have to stop playing it
I'm not saying it will be the best way to play it, but I've wanted to tinker with an Aroma/Volcanic deck. It's sort of reciprocal to why PUNK and Gold Pride fit together.
@@jazzyjefffogel 50% chance to basically brick and not get 2 or more is really bad. There is a reason many run 17 or 18 quick plays in nat runick, and that deck is pretty streamlined to 40
@@jazzyjefffogel for the runick cards to do their job at all, you need to draw multiples of them. 15 runick quick plays is the bare minimum for a 40 card deck and if you go over 40 you need even more.
imo the best line for the deck is actually going super duper all in on the burn damage element, not worrying about scattershot or reload as they're somewhat of bricks, running ishizus, laval handmaiden, and Burner especially, to get as many pyros banished as possible before summoning emperor, and then using it and burner to make Metal Flare, and forcing your opponent to try and play through it with only about 3.5k, obviously it loses bad to any kind of going 2nd negate, but at least you have a better win-con if that doesnt happen lol
Just out of curiosity at 11:20 after he got his kash unicorn. Couldnt u just wait till he uses the theoeses on unicorn and then pop the unicorn to destory it removing the target and making the spell miss ?
Volcanic Blaze Accelerator is a 1 card combo. Also, this deck is consistent when you don’t rely on Runick as 50/50 engine. Also not playing volcanic emission is insane
Hear me out. Volcanic Laval. Lavals love filling the graveyard with Pyro monsters, and can help Volcanic Emperor to be live at any point. Plus Laval can make some decent Level 6-8 synchros.
cool list. Personally, I think if I was building I would cut the tear, spring, and the predaplant in favor of a bigger runick package. Having extra gerri for example can help going second. I also like running at least 1 each of the bad runick names to have more chances to get to fountain and an easier time finishing a deck out. edit: after watching the games i can see how strong the predaplant stuff is. maybe id leave that in and cut the zeus stuff instead personally.
At 11:24 you could have let him search theosis, then when he targets the unicorn, destroy it, simple as that, obviously you were pretty sad to take that lost past turn, frustration is real

Volcanic is a fine off meta strategy now to have fun with and steal the occasional Locals win. Its Runick variant has decent chances against SSH and Purrley but has lots of problems agianst Cashtira (but most decks have :p ). I hope the soon to be arriving Banlist makes Cashtira less obnoxious
I really wish volcanics were more of a control kinda playstyle that burns 500 on the side. Negate burns... bounce burns...pop burns... then like volcanic emperor can't attack directly but can pop and burn like dragoon. Another monster that can recycle.
They are literally a control playstyle Control doesn't have to mean that you sit on a fat dude backed by floodgates Also their burn-based effects have been there since the beginning

Axel/ Austin was one of the few interesting characters post season 2 that had a funky deck and character. Him and Jim were a great duo

If you are considering 2 emperoros volcanic emission is a powerful card to include, 2 emperors on the field equals twice the burn
