Nice to see Wet and Binary Domain get some love! Condemned 2 is the only game to ever give me actual nightmares, so yeah...that's freaky but recommended!

I'm on my 4th Xbox 360. You reminded me that I never got round to finishing Spec Ops: The Line so I pulled it out of the pile and got to it. What a great game. Looking forward to part 3 :)
Great video! I think now is the best time to catch up on overlooked last gen games. I bought Wet after watching this and i'm loving it so far. The controls are atrocious but I wouldn't call it broken. The style and presentation is the best aspect about the game. Reminds me of the No More Heroes series.
Whoa dude! This video is so well made. I loved the moments you picked for the games. They were all mostly new for me and it was so cool to watch.
I agree with Syndicate. It's way more fun than one might expect from a reboot game that doesn't even follow the same genre as the previous titles of the series does.
Also, my only 360 from the year 2008 is still working. It may have gotten a bit louder during the years, but that's hard to tell since the console has always been very noisy. But it's working nonetheless, I'm happy with it.

Thx so much for setting me straight on Spec Ops The Line. I totally ignored it on the title alone, thinking it was just yet another ghost recon or modern warfare...the gameplay is fine, middling fps stuff I suppose, but the morally ambiguous story and character development, wow I was totally blown away by it. Not to mention the awesome soundtrack, featuring Hendrix, Mogwai...just amazing, wish more shooters actually gave you stuff to think about.
I should have bought it, too.

I also loved Timeshift & Inversion. I could easily see them being overlooked. Neither were perfect, but with great controls and interesting mechanics, they were both a very gory and fun way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon . . .

My PS4 was collecting dust cuz I work all the time. so I recently gave it to my little cousin with about 20 games for his birthday. He asked me if I wanted his 360, so I thought "hey just trade it in". Not worth the trade in!

Amen to that...I got Alan Wake and the American Nightmare DLC for 5€ last year in a Steam sale...best 5€ ever spent, i put close to 25 hours in both games and was just blown away by the story, the athmosphere and gameplay was fun, too...highly recommended!
I don't really see that as a "hidden" gem. Great game, but it got a lot of respect when it came out. Good reviews all over the place, and I remember a lot of people I know getting it.

BTW. Your "announcer voice" sound a lot like Diedrich Bader's rendition of Batman. Just an observation...I enjoy it.

Connelly90 Well, there are several choices you can make trouought the game, as well as 6 different endings.
I didn't buy a 360 or PS3 at launch, I waited until the first price drops happened. HOWEVER, the RROD on the 360 was what actually scared me into getting a PS3 instead of an Xbox 360.
Once they got the failure rate under control, I eventually got a 360. But MOST of the games I bought were for the PS3 because it had become my primary gaming rig and oddly enough, it was BECAUSE of Microsoft and the RROD.

The character development and story is also very good in Binary Domain. I'd go so far as to call it the Final Fantasy of TPS's.

LOVE Binary Domain, played it through in one single play, got so hooked instantly. Best 8 hours of shooting in a long time.

I have an original Xbox 360 and it never failed. But then again I probably have only logged about 100 or so hours total on the thing because the console just isn't very interesting to me. I don't know why they designed it the way that they did. They must have some of the most stupid and incompetent engineers working for them. There was no reason to do it the way they did. And they still have the GIGANTIC power supply that was made even bigger when the redesigned "slim" version came out. They must be seriously brain-impaired over there at Microsoft.
More like money-hungry execs looking to push the console out before all the kinks in the design have been worked out. Kind of glad they ended up having to pay for thousands and thousands of repairs now :)
Connelly90 they wanted to beat PLAYSTAtION into the ground, the idiots were not confident in their own user interface and social network which at first was superior to PS3 but then it level out, if they had waited and launched at the same time or after the ps3 there would have been less fails, but also far fewer sales and 360 might have come in second to PS3 last gen, I bought a 360 first then PS3, happier with the PLAYSTATION, but games like BLUDRAGON make me happy to own a 360!

I generally heard they weren't going to have a storage device on the console at launch... relying on memory cards, a-la PS2 era. But they got wind of the PS3's HDD and decided to put one on the 360... but the problem was, half of the exhaust vents for the CPU/GPU got covered up by the HDD unit.
Bad design, hasty launch == 360 failures. And I agree, after the original XBox had DVD issues, and the 360 had overheating issues... the design team for the hardware over @ the games division must live in a freezer or just doesn't understand air flow. :)
***** LISTEN TO THIS GUY, HE SOUNDS LIKE HE KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT, i never gave a thought about the HDD covering up the vents, I love my HALO 3 model and have 5 fans strapped on it always and the run off their own power supply, am I still at risk ? I really don't want my HALO 3 model to dies, what can I do with out altering the cases ? to I put fresh past on it, I use a HD DVD add on already for my movies, is this enough ?
***** I'd heard that too, that's why the HDD is a kind of awkward clip-on thing, and also why they have both an HDD and memory cards on the 360.
I've had multiple Xbox 360 consoles fail. Three of the original design and two of the redesign. After the 5th system, I just gave up on the 360 and got a PlayStation 3 to replace it.

Nicholas Lasky How I see it the only reason the ps3 failed last gen is because developers found it hard to make games on the console (in other words they were lazy). They then decided to make it on 360 first and then port it to ps3. Look at a game like The Last Of Us. Do you think the 360 would've handled that game? I doubt it. I'm not fanboying here. I'm being realistic. I own a 360 as well and I enjoyed playing Gears Of War and Fable as well as a few other exclusives. I found I got more for my money with the PS3 and a Ps Plus membership though.
Rob Ireland It is a superior console it's just developers were too lazy to port games to the system properly. Xbox 360 was more convenient. Call Of Duty is the only reason the 360 sold more in North America as well. PS3 still outsold 360 on a world wide scale. Xbox fanboys will never admit it though.

I knew 360 was an inferior console to the ps3, because games like you said, Last of Us is too strong maybe for the 360. Perfect Example: The Xbox 360's Final Fantasy 13 needs exactly 4 discs to play the game while the PS3's FF13 uses only 1 disc(the old days on the FF7,FF8, and FF9 games on PS1). And the Metal Gear Solid Legacy collection is only available on PS3 because MGS4 was on it and for power reasons, X360 doesn't have it. I do say they are both great consoles, the only I don't like about X360 is that it's weak and MS is bullshitting since they're filthy rich to make it a powerhouse.

Yeah. I recently started collecting for the Xbox 360, and I'm really sad that console didn't see a lot of good RPGs, espcially Jrpgs. I love lost oddysy, but there isn't much else.

Great series man.
Had multiple failures on 360's, but figured it out how to keep them running new. I got mine from some jerkoff on c-list for $50 and it sounded like that airplane effect. Well, after finding out that the original GPU Cooler (one with the extra heatsink in front of the CPU) and changing the CPU one to the original also works. Those described are the ones that both have heatpipes on them. After installed use aluminum foil around the fins to make the air suck in over the GPU / CPU paths and tape it with electrical tape and your golden. It has worked for over 3 years and no game play problems and no speed up on the fans. $50 and $3 each for the heatsinks on ebay and the system is like new. Keep on rocking MetalJesus ... great vids!!!!

Awesome list :) As for my hidden gems, I would always go The Darkness, which is probably my all time favorite underrated game.
Plus we have Armored Core games (4, 5, For Anwser), Darksiders, Brutal Legend, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames or Red Faction: Armageddon.
The Bourne Conspiracy (which was quite fun action game but really short), Chromehounds (didn't own it myself, but played it a lot with my friend at his house, it was great for online and a couple of beers, the online is dead for years though) or The Club (which was basically a third person shooter made in a time trial point game formula, very average, but really fast, fun and required quite a lot off skill to pull some really high scores).
I wonder how many of you played those ones :P
Most of the games from your list, I know and heard about. Even completed some. So they aren't all that much hidden to me, but definitely those are gems :P
Went through Enslaved: Oddyssey to the West, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reconing, Singularity and Condemned 2 which I both absolutley loved back then. Also went through Binary Domain, which was also fantastic, though, I've played this one on the PC. Still, fantastic games indeed and once again, a great list.
Another hidden gems for the 360. You rock man. Include prey. That game was amazing but overlooked by many
Binary Domain and The Darkness were the surprises of my 360 gaming. BD actually had a plot that kept me playing and solid mechanics all around. Good choice man :)
The darkness was quiet spookily phsyco. Good though and it really was dark and cult like

I have a X-Box 360 Arcade manufactured in 2009 and bought used from a friend in June 2011...it's a love, only the power supply is "dead" in October 2013. God save our consolles!
1. HELL YES, "WET"! LOVED that game.
2. I've had an Elite model for about 5 years now, and it's never given me any problems.
3. Another hidden gem you might like is "Conan"... very "God of War"-esque, dirt cheap, tons of fun, and is really true to the source material and character.

MJR, I love your "Hidden Gems" videos, keep em coming......As far as the original build of Xbox 360, I'm on my 8th Xbox 360, and no, I'm not exaggerating.....I currently have the first "mini" re-design, and it works flawlessly. So after a lot of pain, I'm finally completely happy with my Xbox 360. :)

I enjoy your videos, my favourite which I really enjoyed was Spec Ops the line. Really surprised with it, so thanks for that. Also I have 2 xbox's the first white hdmi release and my xbox elite I purchased on launch day. On day of purchase I opened them up and re-paste my chips with better quality and more expensive paste. There still going strong and never are they off, so glad I did

I'm really digging your channel, man. Thank you very much for your very fine content. I have owned 5 360s. I got my first two RROD'd fixed over and over by myself by dubious methods (as there was no Microsoft support in my country at the time). Later, with one fried, I went on the search for a hackable board, which I did indeed found, but wasn't successful at hacking it, completely ruining it. By my second attempt I knew better, and maybe took it a bit too far, ending up with a custom transparent water cooled hacked console, that could run virtually anything from my library of classic roms. I was so proud of it. The 360 I currently use is a very sleek Slim I bought already hacked. It has never given me a problem in these 5 years of constant use.
Mini Ninjas and WET look awesome and I will definitely pick them up!
As for which XBOX model I have, I actually have the newest version which resembles the Xbox One. It's the only version I've had since I was exclusive to the PS3/PSP during this time.

Also my first 360 died from the RRoD, swapped it for the (newly released) HDMI model and that's been fine for the last 5 or so years!

Syndicate, I played that game too back in 2012 on PC. It was such an amazing game indeed. And also the Binary Domain.
My 360 never failed. It’s still going strong today!

Great video. It's funny how my nes, snes, n64, gamecube, wii, genesis, saturn, dreamcast, playstation 1 & 2 and not to mention all my handhelds all work fine till this day but I had to replace my 360 twice and my PS3 (60gb) once. It's like systems were made to last before and now they are made to fail so you have to buy the same system over and over.

Nice video! Been interested in playing syndicate for a while just been playing so many other games haven't got around to it. Also had an issue with the 360 still have our original one. But also picked up the slim version just so the wife and I can play different games haha

I've had one red ring of death, still within the warranty. I sent it back and got a new one for free. I preordered a slim and haven't had any problems since. I was also wondering if you've ever played Damnation? My cousin and I played it co-op all the way through years ago and had a lot of fun. I know it was pretty universally panned, but we found it very enjoyable anyways.
