Guys a word of advise, the role of a host is to bring out the glory and shine of the guest. Not interrupting the guest train of thoughts and deviate from the topic. Hope to see the improvement in SB on the next podcast.
We all stumble, we all make mistakes, but the true measure of who we are is in how we rise, learn, and share our lessons to help others grow. Thank you, Ian, for joining us on this journey. This is what We Are Rise and Shine is all about.
My 2 cents for this episode. As the host, you should: - do your research on your invited guests - give the person and the time and your attention - prep better questions - check your sound equipment; there is feedback from your mic in this video - avoid interrupting (seriously) - respect your guest (Simon, stop your using your phone) I hope you improve from this.
Harsh but not completely untrue. Chaos is not exactly a good format for more dialogue/interview-based content. I believe that’s why good hosting (screen and voice) requires experience.
Actually I don’t understand one thing, why does he get all the flak and not Carrie. Just because he’s a guy and she’s a girl, hence she’s the victim. She should be penalised instead.
Just watched this video and wanted to say jiayou to Ian Fang. We all make mistakes. All the best to your new endeavours. Thanks for your sharing and we get to see a different side of Ian.💪🏽 On a side note to Rise n Shine, this is really a good content. I think is great to have more of such sharing from different influencers, actors/actresses. It really reflects the genuine side of this show and also the audience will get to know the person much better. Looking forward to see more of such content. Keep it up. 😀
tbh fan of simon & all but they really cannot do podcast, keep interrupting with nonsense.. Just a constructive feedback let ur guests talk finish first.
Hosts need to learn to be better listeners for their guests. It was very uncomfortable to watch Ian’s story and vulnerability get interrupted by selfish perspectives like 'I experienced this...'. There is a difference between bringing the spotlight to oneself, being relatable and being a good listener. I felt like they did not respect Ian’s stories and were making a fool of themselves. This is just constructive feedback, as the show has so much potential, but it would be a shame to see it wasted due to a lack of professionalism.
I like to listen to Simon, Lukey and Noah chat and their laughter wakes me up at work also. So to me, not professionally (the majority audience) will like such chit chat ma. Formal formal interview then i can turn to channel 8 also, but i definitely support this channel!
I wanted to know how Ian started his career, on the part of going for audition . The hosts were eager to talk about themselves ! Despite being interrupted and deviate, he managed to go back to it. It feels that the host were fighting for the limelight than to give the space to the guest.
I cannot last through 3 minutes of this video. The interruptions, screaming, interjecting, unrestrained laughter, ridiculous sound effects and over the top act are too annoying to continue.
Thank you for your comments, but this is not an act. Simon, Luke and Noah talk like this even off-screen, they are just being themselves. Hope you will wanna get to know them better through this! But we will definitely be improving on the interruptions part and allowing guests to talk more.
@@wearerisenshineit’s ok being themselves but they are on live show, just being mindful. Sorry we are all being visual creatures, so keeping the momentum in a professionally controlled manner is key.
Hi guys, there are comments saying you all keep interrupting your guest. My honest opinion, I enjoy all the stir shit moment. It's has also lighten the mood for the guest. keep it real guys.
Jiayou Ian! And guys, especially Luke pls stop interrupting. Guest haven't even answer first question he say one sentence U throw second question liao. Frustrating to watch

Like the uniqueness in this hosting.. i actually watched it to the end. One thing i find abit unfair is Ian was cancelled but the other female still.... 😅
i like this theme. idk if its intentional or not, but it ties very closely with the comebacks of all the hosts with their tainted past. the good thing here is nobody is shy to talk about their past and show the world that they are leopards that can change their spots. all the best to Rise n Shine and especially to my irc friend, WN.
Why is this not conducted in Mandarin which all the hosts and guest are super fluent in? It was really impossible to listen past 2 minutes with this standard of English. No, I am not an elitist. I just recognize that A LOT of the things that Ian could have communicated more heartfeltly were ALL lost in translation. The entire interview is just flat, and makes a discerning viewer question what was the point of this to begin with. Especially when you are trying to provide "learning points", "advices" and "perspective", if you can't communicate and elaborate, the whole video becomes "don't drink, don't smoke, don't do bad things, something like that, you know?" - you get what I mean? It is superficial at best and no real value to take away. This is not a harsh review considering all are local celebrities who have been in the scene for awhile now... Should have run this through a producer etc... Anyways. Good start I guess.
Idk if Simon want to do 节目效果 but sometimes a bit too much. He can joke and talk nonsense but in a more respectful way. Other than that the whole boys-chill-out chitchat vibe is ok.
The hosting a bit messy ah tbh, but it's understandable. To Ian, idk ur scandal n stuff but from this episode I felt genuinity from you and I wish you all the best 加油!
Yep. Key message is be yourself! Same as how y’all run this podcast. It’s 2024, do things your own way and you’ll find your own pool of fans! Don’t just follow what others do blindly especially if it’s not to your advantage. There’s a reason why viewers are moving to alternate forms of media rather than the mainstream ones. If the boys didn’t follow their heart we wouldn’t have seen them today.
They should just have had the interview in Chinese, but I guess to reach a broader audience, I appreciate the effort in English. However, please be mindful that your remarks about girls/women will really alienate them. Half your audience.
Honestly, I found Ian a bit arrogant on screen back in the day. Everyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance; it’s part of how we learn and grow throughout life. Seeing him in this podcast makes him seem more relatable and genuine. I really appreciate how he emphasizes that making money isn’t the true measure of success and that living without regrets is the way to go. Wishing everyone the best, and may the future bring fruitful years for all who read this! :3 Side note: I also agree with the comments that the hosting skills could improve, but I kind of enjoy the chaotic energy, haha!

the interview was hard to listen to with Ian's chin-grish. Would be better if this was conducted in mandarin. Agree with the other comments that Ian keep getting interrupted. Anyway, since when there was RISE for him...
It looks more like buddy-buddy talk, anyway don’t expect quan yi feng that kind of format. But sometimes someone needs to moderator and be a time keeper imho. Also i would think Ian should speak in Chinese. And do English subtitles really hard for him to speak in English and even harder for us to listen to him and empathise with him. Also i do think you should not clown around learn to respect the interviewee and the audience’s time
