In this video, I focused on Maplelea clothing exclusively because a) I got a lot of it, and b) the video will be searchable and people who want to see firsthand how well that brand works on AG dolls can find this video easily. Thank you for sharing the Maplelea things you received, and for showing the pictures so we can get a solid sense of how they fit the dolls - this was VERY helpful. I requested a catalog a bit ago but haven't received it yet... but I may start to put together an order before it even arrives, because there are two outfits in particular that I have my eye on, as well as that adorable sock monkey-esque cardigan. Much like you, I'm not a huge fan of the Maplelea dolls themselves, but I really love the diversity they have in their clothing design and activities. Having been swallowing the almost hyper-feminine stuff at AG for years, it's enjoyable to look at doll clothes that aren't all very pink or purple!
YES! This year I want to buy more things that look like they fit in my closet (so...neutrals) and if AG won't give me that, I'll be spending more money elsewhere.
I absolutely love Maplelea!! The dolls are so sweet and the dimples! The clothes are wonderful quality and shipping to the US is always $9!!
Hard agree about the clothes and the reasonable shipping. And since making this video, I did get a journal to start collecting/storing all the outfit informational journal inserts. :)
As a Canadian I’m a Maplelea fan hands down , the quality of their clothing in my opinion surpasses American Girl quality, I understand the dolls aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but I do appreciate that they have a doll from different Canadian provinces and territories, my daughters have the dolls and absolutely adore their little smiling faces ❤
I say the same about the quality of this clothing. I buy a lot of it not only for the quality but with the exchange rate it's less expensive than what AG sells. Good value with their doll clothing. I also like the gender neutral aspect and I have quite a few AG and custom boy dolls and can find a lot of clothing for them by purchasing Maplelea brand.
If you read the comments, it seems that every AG fan's exception is Saila. I really do think it's the smile on most of their dolls. Our Generation dolls don't seem to have enough of a smile to me, and Maplelea dolls kind of border the other end of the spectrum. Maybe that's a result of AG being my "norm". I DO really like the company and the fact that the dolls represent the different provinces, though :-)

Thanks - @disblaine and @mandiwho both have several videos showing their Maplelea outfits on AG dolls and I really enjoy those because I sometimes have a hard time visualizing what they'll look like on my dolls and that helps me make purchasing decisions. :)
Lots of nice clothes there. I’ve wanted to make an order for awhile now and this may just push me over the line. I love that their clothing is more gender neutral. And Buffalo plaid for the win! The cardigan makes me think of a sock monkey and I can’t unsee it now.
I do have Maplelea Saila so if something didn’t fit AG so well, she could wear it.

Also, it cracks me up that AG fans who don't particularly like the Maplelea face mold will generally make one exception and it's always Saila (seriously, read all the other comments) lol. I totally get it. I personally find her smile much nicer and if I were ever to get one it would be her.
As a Canadian, it is pronounced Maple-lee. It rhymes with maple tree, they have it explained on their Facebook! I had one as a child but have since been collecting AG dolls. I loved this video, the journal pages are so nostalgic!
Yep. That's been explained in the comments. It was heating it pronounced Maple Lea by a Canadian collector that made me doubt that too begin with. Either way, they make great doll clothing. And I got a journal after this video! :-)
As a fellow Canadian, I’d have to agree. As you mentioned, we say leaf, not leAf. 😂

You are so welcome! Yeah, the pants on the back of the jeans are a *smidge* low, but in general I actually prefer the fit of these jeans to the fit of the AGP ones we have with the star on the front pocket. Those tend to run a little short.

The camper isn't the big ticket item I want to change. I got something else for Christmas and I want to make some *very minor* modifications to it. Maryellen's camper, on the other hand, is perfection as-is :-)
“You know the swim suit shirts you get for your kid” or that I get for me, because I’m the world’s palest woman! Makes buying concealer and foundation easy though, because I just grab the lightest one 😂. Anyway, yes, I feel the same way about the maplelea dolls, the arms and hands always look so strange to me! The clothes look great though, so thank you for sharing.

Which one? I feel like most AG fans who don't really love the Maplelea dolls make an exception for Saila. That's who I'd get if I were going to get one.
I've been intrigued by these clothing outfits, so thank you for reviewing and having your dolls model them for us! I do agree that the dolls themselves are not to my personal taste, but I'm definitely going to add some of their clothing pieces to my doll wardrobe! 😃

I have a few Maplelea outfits and accessories: the Northern Spirit outfit, the Chalet Chic Cardigan, the Storm Stomper boots, the Pelee Pizzazz mix and match, the Gaggle of Glee mix and match, and the older Polar Bear PJs (with the diff. t-shirt graphic).
I like to use the Chalet Chic Cardigan with the Northern Spirit outfit - they're so cute together!
I'll have to look up the ones I haven't heard of. We have three other Maplelea outfits but I'm definitely planning to get more!
Thanks for the video! It's great to see these outfits in person. I mainly collect Götz Happy Kidz, and the Maplelea shoes fit them perfectly, so I have quite a few pairs. I had not yet ordered any clothes, except one sweater that was on sale. The Happy Kidz are quite a bit slimmer than AG, so I am surprised to see the clothes fit AG so well. I have read that the outfits fit Happy Kidz pretty well, too, and now I know that even if they don't, they will still fit one of my AG 😊
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'd say go for one or two outfits and see how they fit. I don't think you'll regret it :-)
I just saw that cardigan on AGIG a few days ago and it's so stinking gorgeous. And I LOVE the outfit on Piper, especially with the moose slippers. I've also seen a little stuffed moose that's like a sock monkey made by Maplelea and it's super cute as well. Thanks for sharing all of this!

Lol, I have everything you showed, doubles in some. It's pronounced Maple Lee. I contacted them because I've heard it both ways, and they said it's Lee. I was hesitant at first, but I had my son pick up my first order last February when he went to visit his girlfriend. I have purchased many, many items since then.
Their quality is way above what AG puts out now and I buy a lot of their outfits. It's less expensive with the exchange rate, too. Super cute and super well made. I've also heard that it's Lee not Lea but it is pronounced either way so I guess that it doesn't really matter. We all know what company we're talking about and with the review videos coming out the word is out ! I post a lot of pictures in the FB doll groups wearing Maplelea clothing. Love it.
Thanks. I always pronounced it Maple-lee but never knew if I was right. Then I saw a video that made me second guess. If you got the answer "straight from the horse's mouth" that's good enough for me :-)
I love when people post their AG dolls in Maplelea clothes on the AG facebook groups. That's honestly the reason we placed our first Maplelea order!
Hi Kristie. I loved seeing you open MapleLea items since I am from Canada. I loved the moose slippers too! That little grey sweater is like a sock monkey style and I have that sweater in human size. It’s very cozy. Thanks for explaining why you film so close to the camera. Your sound is good that way and you have a great face. 😃 I struggle with audio as well and need to invest in an external mike at some point. All part of learning and growing on our channels! Love the varcity jacket. Yay Canada!❤
Maplelea sells a mini sock monkey too. Doll size. Check it out. It comes with a white knit blanket and red plaid pillow. It is so adorable that I ordered it over a year ago.
On this video in particular, I had the camera up to high so I'm looking upward and I am not a fan. But yeah, I'll get the mic situation figured out sometime this year, I'm sure. I'm not stressing about it. I have a great mic for voiceovers so that's half the battle :-) And I'm happy to show Maplelea some love - it's a great company!

I haven't finished the video yet, but I wanted to leave a comment while the thought was still fresh in my mind. You can buy the journals separately! I'm thinking of doing that because I love stories and tidbits about the characters I'm just not a fan of the dolls (except for a couple). I think it's really awesome that the outfits come with more pieces of the journal!

Thanks - I'm so pleased with every single thing I got from Maplelea - beautiful, versatile, and really good quality.
Last March, I bought Alexi's journal in the "Last Chance" section for 3. CAD that is perfect for keeping the journal pages. They currently have one for 6. CAD. The second time I ordered another pair of Moose slippers they came in a plastic bag. I also like that online they tell you if something does not fit AG dolls. I also didn't realize that when you do a store pick up order, you end up paying 13% tax. I was having my son pick up orders for me until I realized it was cheaper to mail.
Wow, 13% is high! Their shipping is so reasonable! I'm definitely getting one of the journals :-)
Word is out on Maplelea clothing. I own a lot of the outfits and plan on buying all the new camp related recently released outfits (and the MOOSE SLIPPERS ! ) I'm just disappointed that UA-cam doesn't allow photos to be posted in the comments or I'd post photos of my dolls wearing some of the outfits. My favorites to date ? #1. Whisker and Paws Outfit. Comes with kitty shoes (fit fine) and a little kitty purse. Website says that a few will be available late Jan. so if you want this I'd grab it then. I read before that it was Sold Out and discontinued so they are probably retiring it. Not sure how many will be available. #2. Knit Two, Purl Two Sweater Dress and Leggings. Also super cute on the doll. And bargain priced at just $25. It comes with two hats to change for a different look. Boots and purse shown sold separately. #3. Gardening Greatness Capri Overalls (longer than capris on AG). Pink and light blue flowered overalls too cute to explain. I changed the pink t-shirt out for a light blue one that I had for a slightly different look (not so much pink). Those three are my favorites and three of my dolls are still wearing them waiting for a photo shoot. Honorable Mention is the Jaunty Jacquard Sweater Outfit a multi colored sweater set that comes with sweater, hat, socks and leggings. Similar but different pattern is the Great White North Pink and Silver Sweater Set comes with the same items. Not a favorite but super cute sweater, too.

I hold you personally responsible for all the money I'm about to spend at Maplelea! I've been wanting Saila for YEARS, but just haven't done anything about it. I've never been a fan of any of the other face sculpts (although the Black Canadian sculpt is new to me and adorable!). I haven't looked at their clothes in years, but OMG, the shoes and boots (the Moccasins!) and Canadian/winter outfits! I'm in love! The quality looks fantastic and if I get Saila as well, I'll know that at least she'll fit into all the adorable shoes! Also the fact that there are so many gender neutral outfits makes me really happy. 😀
Lol. Saila seems to be the one Maplelea doll AG fans always gravitate toward and I completely get it. She has a nice smile, while I find the others unnerving. You'll have to let me know what you end up getting ;-)

I feel like a lot of AG fans who don't particularly like Maplelea dolls like Saila. I get it. I think her face is quite different from the others and her smile is definitely less...jarring. And yes, Grace is a keeper!

I have had Maplelea Saila for a few years now and she is a beautiful doll, looks much better in person!!! I have bought almost her entire collection and the quality is fantastic! I also bought the Canyon dress (new) and it looks gorgeous on Kaya.
It's funny that Saila is the one doll AG fans keep mentioning in the comments. She looks so much different than their other dolls with her much more demure smile and I think that's why a lot of us who don't generally like Maplelea dolls find her more appealing. She's definitely the only one I'd get :-)

Uh oh. This somehow never dawned on me until now. Goodbye, money! Their clothing items are amazing but, like you, I really do not care for the look of the dolls. So I guess my brain just never made the connection 🙃 Either that or I assumed they wouldn’t ship to the States. But now that it’s clicked, look out, Maplelea. I’m coming for that adorable cardigan!

No it looks fine up close. I was thinking of trying one up close too but I need softer lighting first. 😊
Yes, lighting is another struggle. But I'm not a perfectionist so that helps lol.
That's one thing... I wish someone would make an app of AG... loaded with all the dolls and their clothes and you add to "your collection" and can see what you need to get yet... Wiki is nice, but I have an app that I keep track of my rock and crystal collection and even gives checklists and let's you make a "wish list"... just wish there was something like that for AG... at least the historical girls with their collections.

I like that one a lot - you did remind me to follow up with Maplelea, though. The Mooncakes outfit jacket stained one of my dolls (one of Blaine's dolls from DisBlaine, too) and they have been slow in addressing it :(

Yep, you're the second person to confirm it IS Maple-lee (which is what I'd been saying for a couple years but then was second-guessing. I do feel like the company has heart. I started following their Instagram account recently and I really like them. I did notice the other day (after filming, of course) that you can get the journal separately. I'm definitely going to add one to my next order!
Do you think the storm stompers winter boots would fit my AG girl. Long won't matter because of her thick socks but would they be too narrow?
My friend @prbambi99 just got those boots and sent me a picture of them on one of her dolls. I think they look good. idk what kind of socks she used - if it does seem to narrow, I'd just say pass on the thick socks.

I love Maplelea quality as well! I also was taken back by the dolls’ appearance at first, but have somehow done a 180 and think they’re adorable now. Not sure how that happened. Also, I came across a video from the company’s founder and she pronounced it Lee rather than Leah. Like Maple Leaf, without the f, which makes me happy because my middle name is Lea, pronounced Lee. 😊 Interesting video on the company as well. I’ll share the link. Ooh, I'll def check out that video. And I'm glad to have a definitive answer because that's how I wanted it to be pronounced :) I will share that I bought the Moon Cakes outfit and the jacket stained my AG doll's arms. Now I have to send her in to the hospital to get her limbs replaced (Maplelea is giving me a store credit to match the cost of the doll hospital visit). That outfit stained another agtuber's doll's arms, too. The company thinks it's because AG dolls have larger limbs so the material is sitting on their arms with more pressure and that's possibly the cause. So be careful with that outfit (put a long-sleeved shirt underneath, only have them wear it briefly, or pre-wash it).
@@agtakesover oh no. Well thankfully they offered some compensation. I’m so paranoid now about color transfer with any dark clothing. My AG Molly’s legs recently ended up stained from some off brand black leggings I had on her for a while. So upsetting. I’m trying to recall which outfit was the Moon Cakes one. Was it featured in this video? I just put a pair of dark denim Maplelea jeans on one of my Maplelea dolls this morning and am already worried about color transfer. 😩 Thanks for sharing.
