To fix broken lifebars switch to 720p60. Hattori Hanzo playthrough in slash mode and on max setting with all story scenes intact.
Initially was looking to do a bust playthrough due to the insanely cool power special but slash eventually won me over with its awesome array of special moves.
Flavor text:
Amakusa Shirō Tokisada has returned from the dead. Looking to create a new world order in line with his ideals, he resurrects Minazuki Zankurō and kidnaps a sorceress-in-training, Hazuki, from the Kazama ninja clan to augment his powers. This new awakening has since caused all manner of disasters around the world and once again many warriors hurry to find and destroy the source of evil.
Hattori Hanzo, the most powerful of the Iga ninja, has been ordered by the shogunate to destroy the Amakusa castle.

Hanzo is ssoooo stylish. My all time favorite SNK character (Other than Rick Strowd and Terry Board)!! I mean look at Hanzo's Stance!!

SS4 is the smartest-gameplay-game that i've played. The only fail is this game doesn't have "random enemies" like SS2.
Tht' not a flaw... thats you not liking - Linear - though
I wish it has destructible environment like in the other games. But it's my favorite of them all, I love the stages and the music.

The gimmick in this Game is Amakuza randomly appearing to alter the stage, so that covers the " destructiv environments " part i guess

Damn I wash Hanzo was this violent and aggressive in the new SS game night and day difference. Season 2 of SS perhaps.....I hope so!

They never were really fighters. Like the movies say. They could if they had to. But there job was to avoid contact. They creep in, cause confusion, set up traps and other less confrontational means. They only used combat when caught. That was ninja.

when I was practicing his teleports I eventually realized that I was doing the directionals way too quickly (thus carelessly) and possibly letting go of the final directional too soon before inputting A or B.
At 13:54 my rhythm for inputting the directionals is visible pretty well
-> + B or A

I'm playing this on the Xbox One thanks to the Hamster ACA collection. The game hustles me, starting out stupidly easy but progressing to the point where enemies will not let you through their defenses, ever. Is there some way to sneak in your sword when they clam up?
I suggest using the 'switch sides' move (A+B) when at close range to your opponent, then instantly do a heavy slash (or a combo starter.) You'll find that the AI often forgets to block.
