Brian Brushwood's new show Scam School is actually on the SCIENCE Channel. Thanks for the catch, "TheNumidium". www.scamstuff.com/pages/homemade-ninja-assassin-flash-bang-grenades-you-know-it
I work at a liquor store here in Dallas, and Ive learned so much more than I already knew about whisk(e)y from y'all. I've been able to take some of the things you talk about and use them to sell more at work and train my palette as well. Can't wait to see where the journey takes y'all as the new channel and distillery get rolling. And if you're ever in the Dallas area, let me know and I'd be happy to host you for dinner. Steaks and whisk(e)y?
Hi guys. Just subscribed. Saw Daniel on the modern rogues "how to order whisky...." video. Loved it. You sure do know your stuff. Very impressed. So I came to this official channel. I feel I could chat to you guys for hours. I'm still fairly new to whisky. Tried it about 3-4 years ago in Camden Town in London. I've never looked back. I've gotten into Japanese/scotch. Just need to try some Canadian/Indian/Irish/and Rye whisky. Bourbon is too sweet for me. Prefer the smokier flavours. But I will try it again. Keep up the great work love the copious amounts of bottles behind you too. Awesome.
Thanks for mentioning the Taiwan whiskey! I noticed the Kavalan. It has been amazing to see the whiskey market explode here over the last couple of years. Only a few years ago the only whisky that was easily available was Johnny Walker Black. Last weekend I went into a local bar and was able to try two whiskies that I had never had before.
Hey guys, another great video and review!!!! Going to try and get my hands on a bottle of the balblair 2002 and try it out. Keep up the great work and putting out more great videos.
another great video, I have to say since finding them I have learnt a lot. loved the tasting techniques you have shown and opened up so many more nuanced flavours I would have missed previously. keep up the great work. you should do some Aussie whisky in the near future ;)
Awesome show guys. Learning new things about this fascinating elixir called Whisk(e)y with you. I'd love a special episode about Islay Whiskies. Cheers from Colombia.
Some time after this episode aired, i started watching. I started 13? episodes behind, and i am almost up to date (give me a couple of weeks :P) This is cool. I am looking forward to be up to date, and start watching all the other videos besides these tasting episodes :D You are doing good work here lads. Keeping me interested in whiskey and opening my eyes to the posibilities out there in the world. Thank you for shattering my noobish snobbery and setting me on the road to a fine tasting, financial ruin :)
Ooh, not had a Balblair yet though heard good things about them; but if its similar (without that delicious creamy/butter note) of Glencadam, I think I'll love it!
My other local tipple after Glenmorangie. 02, 99 and 97 are all great. My dad was the postman for both distilleries for twenty years and always got tipped a couple of bottles from each at Christmas time. Which also saved him having to buy me anything. True what they say about Scotsmen :-D
Well I for one am looking forward to the new channel! Also on a side note, you guys have a lot more Canadian Whisky than I thought. If I come for a Sommelier course I'll have to bring something really special and "good" from my motherland.
2 questions for you fine gentlemen. 1.) How is the Cooper's Croze? As a Jameson fan I've been intrigued to try it, but being unemployed I haven't been able to afford it. 2.) This kind of feeds in from q1 as I just got a job offer: I wanna try and blend my own whisk(e)y and I want to do a 5 whiskey blend. So far I wanna use Caskmates, Toki, and Buffalo Trace. What 2 whiskeys would you top the blend off with? I'm aiming for something on the friendly side since that is probably easier to not fuck up. Slainte!
I actually haven't tried the Cooper's Croze yet, but I will! On the blend, really, the only way to find out is to try things. Start small. 1oz of each and mix together until they all work. Take a lot of notes. I'd say try a speyside scotch, but sometimes the butterscotch in those can through things off.
I am From India... Visited the Balblair distillery in 2017....its one of the oldest in the Highlands and the product is highly underrated, difficult to find in Duty Free.
I know that many people find a relaxing activity to be a fine cigar and a glass of scotch. However, I'm not much of a cigar person, but rather cannabis. For those of us who can smoke cannabis legally, do you have an opinion on cannabis and whisky? What whiskies do you think would pair well?
Question for you lads: If the list of whiskys to-try is 7 pages long, have you compiled a list of the whiskys for which you've done reviews/cameos? I'd love a copy, to start building my own vault. Cheers!
Not to burst your bubble, Rex, but I assumed the first syllable rhymes with "pal" not "ball." You know, like balrog, only with a blair instead of a rog.
great video here :) finally... an introduction to your vault, I wish I have one like yours too. Whisky bars in my country usually promote whisky with a "flight" of whisky(s), like from mild to strong punchie, smoky.... what would yours be like (3 to 4 choices) for a non-whisky drinker?
As a disciple, a subscriber, a provider( to my friends), and an occasional mooch ( when I can), would it be possible to include a ballpark price for the Whiskey you sample and review? Maybe rate it 1-10?
I'll try to keep naming our price, but we try to avoid formal ratings. We'll just tell you "we like it" or "we don't". Or we'll talk about what kind of people would dig this. Hopefully it helps!
I'm new to the channel, and i wanted to say that you guys are making great content. Also I have had a few scotches but they are usually blended. I want to just dive into some from islay. What would be a good bottle to start?
I just changed my name on here (formerly Bioethicist) and was worried that you guys wouldn't realize it was the same person (normally this wouldn't be any kind of risk because I can't think of a youtube channel more connected to its community than this one). Hope the transition is smooth. Have you ever wondered if the whiskey vault will be outgrown? It looks like you're nearing capacity and, while your collection is impressive, it's probably nowhere near exhaustive.
We've already out grown. We'll have to learn how to levitate whisky in the air outside the windows now. Thanks for the heads up! I would have been disappointed to see "bioethicist" disappear.

wow! I've always wanted to see the rest of the vault and that view is amazing.
Never miss an episode!!!!! You are my crack, thanks.
Thanks for the quick tour of the vault! Have been wondering what the rest looks like.

Thanks for the awesome invite, Denton! Glad you're learning. Hopefully not too much :-)
I wasn't sure if there was even a mooch in the room until 7:02. Thank god he showed up because I'm here for the mooching tips!! Thank you Rex
Ryan Taylor I was chanting mooch! mooch! mooch! mooch! from 6:27
He made the mistake of resisting, so we had to bring out the big guns.

thanks for finding us! You're already headed down an amazing path. No wrong way to take it.

Great channel guys, thank you for this awesome service.
a labor of love, my friend. Glad you're with us.

Yes! I only have a few, but we will do it.
Whiskey Vault bloody legends
Awesome show guys. Learning new things about this fascinating elixir called Whisk(e)y with you. I'd love a special episode about Islay Whiskies. Cheers from Colombia.
Welcome, sir! We'll work out options as we go :-)
Even trade! And if that lovely officer is watching, thank you!
Really Great episode! some day we would like to get the whole tour around the house!
We'll do it!
WoW, what a view! You'd never get me out of that tower!!!

Grateful to have you here, friend. The journey is a wonderful thing.
Ohh. I love that you got some Balblair.
Genuinely surprised how much I liked it. Really good stuff.
Ooh, not had a Balblair yet though heard good things about them; but if its similar (without that delicious creamy/butter note) of Glencadam, I think I'll love it!

Finished a bottle of grouse smokey black last night, had to quietly hum it's raining men.
well played, my friend.
heheheh
“I asked my dad for his best dad joke and he said, ‘You.’”

I'll give it a shot, thanks!
Rex's new sign-off: "may your bar tab always be less than your cab fare." I feel like it's in the spirit of the mooch.
i dig it
I am From India... Visited the Balblair distillery in 2017....its one of the oldest in the Highlands and the product is highly underrated, difficult to find in Duty Free.
Balblair is definitely one of my favorites !
That's a DREAM vault!
Look at that, took about a month for Daniel to start telling us the price point. If it weren't for Rex I would have never known. Thanks Rex!
ohhh jeez.
Who's lookin' out for ya? That's right. It's me. Not Daniel. Me! ... Now then, how much whiskey do you have to share with a worthy benefactor?
I know that many people find a relaxing activity to be a fine cigar and a glass of scotch. However, I'm not much of a cigar person, but rather cannabis. For those of us who can smoke cannabis legally, do you have an opinion on cannabis and whisky? What whiskies do you think would pair well?
Unfortunately, I lack the experience to make this recommendation. I'll ask around :-)
The Tenacious D reference makes this one the greatest episodes in the world. Or maybe just a tribute?
Love how Daniel casually threw in some Tenacious D.
Nice catch!
Rocking episode

Don't ruin it for him. You''ll make him cry.
No. It's "Ball - Blair", which is Moochese for "Ballbag." That is all.
Rex I was thing ball hair not bag
Of course! How could I have missed that - low hanging fruit... (see what I did there?)
great video here :) finally... an introduction to your vault, I wish I have one like yours too. Whisky bars in my country usually promote whisky with a "flight" of whisky(s), like from mild to strong punchie, smoky.... what would yours be like (3 to 4 choices) for a non-whisky drinker?
Oh, this is a good one. I'll work on this with Rex
You guys seriously need to appreciate that Charlie G comment, it is definitely the best comment in the worldddddddddddd!!!
As a disciple, a subscriber, a provider( to my friends), and an occasional mooch ( when I can), would it be possible to include a ballpark price for the Whiskey you sample and review? Maybe rate it 1-10?

Groovy got it. Some of these are, sad to say, unobtainable for workin' stiffs.
Yes tenacious D tribute
I could always help you out with the whisky you don't have room for ;) side note the Woodford reserve does not belong on the floor!
Too true. It's actually a backup Woodford reserve for the one we have on the shelf :-) Not sure if that makes it better or worse.
I personally think of Ball Hair when you say the name.
When he went to get another bottle of Balblair, I KNEW it was going to be the '99
It's my favorite, too.
I'm new to the channel, and i wanted to say that you guys are making great content. Also I have had a few scotches but they are usually blended. I want to just dive into some from islay. What would be a good bottle to start?
You're headed down a great path. Try starting with some blends that use Islay. Like Black bottle.
TWO CAMERAS??? Movin' on up aren't we fellas?
Fancy Fancy
Tour of the Vault! 10:37 mark
All I want is a whisk[e]y vault in my house !!!!!
Did I see a Dakmore Kings Alexander III in your locked cabinet?
If so: Very Nice.
Yes! Yes you did.
I just changed my name on here (formerly Bioethicist) and was worried that you guys wouldn't realize it was the same person (normally this wouldn't be any kind of risk because I can't think of a youtube channel more connected to its community than this one). Hope the transition is smooth.

Thanks for the heads up! I would have been disappointed to see "bioethicist" disappear.
Might have to move the vault to the distillery or something.
Yeah, I had to make sure I got the credit for ALL the short jokes.
haaaahahahahaaa!
Given it could be gone... Not sure it's worth commenting. btw... Glad you bleep yourselves. 😁
Love your videos, keep it up!
st. Jude is the patron saint of lost causes, thanks guys video are great
yes, Jude. thank you!
Did you catch my question related to Richard Paterson by any chance?
Do you mean the one about rinsing the glass, tasting, etc? I answered!
Wizard Academy oh, I must have missed it.
I am new here I need to know how many tasting videos you guys do in one day?
We usually shoot 1-4.
Wait! Wait! Wait! This was wizard academy channel? And you keep the wizard academy channel? Say no more! Subbed to that too.
make a video to talk about your way to becoming a whisky expert please
I'll work on it!
Small correction - Scam School will be on Science Channel, NOT the Syfy Channel.
YES. Thank you for that. We'll correct it on the next shoot we do.
I had to double check the name. I heard bald glare. If it was Rex speaking I would have assumed it was a jab.
And now we finally see why Daniel can't reach the top shelf. LOL
Someday all of those trees will be a view of brick and signage. Don't let it happen, guys.
There is no limit to moochness. Take all the whiskey!!!!!
Rex seems too knowledgeable to be just a mooch, do you have any sommelier training?
He only knows what I tell him. And I try to regularly tell him the wrong things so he looks silly on camera
Tell me more wrong things, Daniel. My brilliance is too easily overcoming your alternative facts.
I read this reply w/o having seen Whiskey Vault (Daniel)'s response and I was thinking, "Wow, what a douche"
Oh geez... yah that would have been pretty douchey. Edited to add Daniel's name.
tenacious D
I thought you said "ball hair" at first. So thanks for ruining this whiskey for me DAN
St. Jude Thaddeus is the patron saint of lost causes
yes.
Daniel > Rex
