Jody, Mark--very tough video to hear but so true. The life we want to live at 91 must be tended to now. The life we lead now is so much different from the life we had decades ago. So many of us have children who are grown, parents who are gone and many are single. I think we all have to have something to run towards--new goals, challenges etc. And thank you for coaching us to find our " wild and authentic life."
It can be hard for sure. It’s one of those things that requires a positive mindset and effort to find and meet appeal where they are. Volunteering is always a great place to start. Find an organization that you feel you care about and call them. Just pick up the phone and call. They should be set up to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. Non profits need volunteers to survive. Good luck and let us know if this worked for you.
I planted a garden after my 38 yr old died last Nov. it’s been helpful to see something alive. It’s been 9 months now and kinda like a pregnancy, bedridden and full of rest but it’s time for renewing and moving away from grief.
Hi, very happy I found you guys. I am ready to retire as of next year and I will be 56 yrs. I work for the NYS and get a pension. My husband has his pension from the state and works Trader Joe’s he loves snd will get another pension not a lot like $375 monthly from an older job he had. We want to move to Florida central and buy a townhouse and I have health issues but truly trying to get healthy . We have some debt and own a very nice house. Any suggestions. By the way . Jody you are so beautiful 😊
What a great life you have in front of you. Make it the best that you can. Keep learning and dreaming so that you can stay positive. And thank you for the compliment
Number five forgot to get a free inheritance plan from the traditional family lawyers when they add a security system to make sure their grantee kids get it with NICER and Your budget benefits for grantee kids.
I actually think you can. Try making little changes in your current life so when you do retire you have practiced hobbies, exercise, maybe journaling, eating different foods. There is no need to wait for anything to start these changes.
Hi @tonymerkle3298. Yes I can do that and appreciate you mentioning it. We are working on this and we continue to improve everything we can on our channel. We both get passionate about these topics and that's where the interrupting come from. Thanks for watching and the feedback.
Something that helps me in the grieving process is remembering their laugh. Somehow it makes them feel closer and softens sharp edges.
I like this idea. I’m thinking of my Mom, my Dad, and my brother right now. They all had the greatest laughs. Thank you

Love your videos. They are so relatable to my own life and challenges.
Glad you like them!
Hobby or new interests are very important. It is the time to cultivate passions that we did not have time to do before. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely! Yes hobbies can help fill the time and bring you and others joy
❤ exactly what I needed to hear!!!!
What was the most important thing you heard on this video?
I was just telling a co-worker last week... "Retirement sounds GREAT... Except for the whole death thing at the end... " 😆
Yeah, there is that. Its important to live every day to it’s fullest.
Finding new friends later on in life is difficult, I find.

Thank you for posting this helpful video

My granothers lived into their hundreds ..lost all close associates and some younger family.
Im hoping to live to 100. That would be pretty incredible. But noone in my family has made it past 90 that I know of.

Thanks for watching!
Grammar Tip: Most people misuse “there’s”.
EG: Wrong: “There’s 5 things…”. Correct: “There are 5 things…”
Thank you again!
You mean we can’t rehearse retirement before we get there?
I actually think you can. Try making little changes in your current life so when you do retire you have practiced hobbies, exercise, maybe journaling, eating different foods. There is no need to wait for anything to start these changes.
Mark, stop cutting off Jody. Let her speak!

Made it to 80 and you put your dad down...horrible
Hi. My dad unfortunately died from excessive alcohol over a long period of time. We did not put him down.
You need to do more research before making those claims.
Please let us know if we have any incorrect information in this video. We always do the best we can to research but certainly can make mistakes.
What did they say that was incorrect or incomplete?
