- Hello there! We are Devin and Lacey Bell. We are a married couple living in Kentucky, and we travel down to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida as often as possible (which is usually once or twice a year).
In today's video, I wanted to explain the timeline and process we experienced buying our first Disney Vacation Club contract through DVC Resale Market. Spoiler Alert: It was a seamless process!

In the process right now of buying a OKW with an OCT use year from the DVC Resale Market. I’ve got my eye on an Animal Kingdom as well.

@@bellsindisneyif everything works out, it will be Old Key West. I stayed there for the first time this summer and really loved it (I think it gets a bad rep overall, but I do agree that the transportation can be a hassle, so I understand some of the criticism).
The point values are amazing though! We haven’t tried it yet, but we definitely want to!

I’m looking at DVC direct to get the perks, but I’m not sure if I need them I live in Florida.
The only perk we’re sad about missing out on is that we can’t book Riviera on our points. We can always rent those though, if we want to stay there. The other perks aren’t worth the price difference for us, and we can still get merch discounts with our APs.
As a florida resident you can get the Sorcerers pass which i think is the best perk. the others are minimal or impossible to get
When you got your 2 emails for the member id and activation and logged in, were you able to see your points right away or did you have to wait for the points to load even after you activated the contract?
That is a great question! We did some digging to try and get you the best answer. I found an email from DVC Resale Market that says it may take 30 days for Member Services to get the points loaded into your account after you get the activation emails. This was not the case for us. I don't know how long it took exactly, but we had our points and booked a trip with them the following day - so it must've been a 24 hours (or so) turnaround for us!

Just curious on your timeline, with the closing documents you received and request for payment, you mentioned you took maybe a week to return everything. Do you remember if there was there a deadline? I.e was it like “return these in 2 weeks or your contract is voided” or something like that, or was it more of a “return at your earliest convenience”?
This is a good question! I went back and looked through our documents, and I don’t see anything asking us to return it by a certain date. I think by that point you’re contractually obligated to make the payment, but you can’t access your points until you do?
@@bellsindisneynot that I want to delay the process but if I have to shift funds from bank accounts I know that can sometimes take longer than expected so just wanted to be prepared. Thank you! Great video and timeline explanation. Haven’t seen many talking about this part of the process like this!
