- Thanks Red Bull for organising an amazing athlete training camp in Queenstown for the downhill, enduro and Slopestyle MTB athletes. With Red Bull Hardline Tasmania only a few weeks ago and Crankworx Rotorua next week this was the perfect timing to get the worlds best riders together for some amazing training. Dirt Jumps, downhill and gym training sessions, what more could you want! Legends

Crazy to watch a guy that makes his living riding a bike better than 99% of people get absolutely LEFT IN THE DUST by someone on a bike. There are LEVELS to everything.
Bike riding isn't so 1-dimensional, though. Matt is where he is because of his slopestyle riding, not downhill.
@@EdFormer I agree 100% and thats why I love Matt. I grew up dirt jumping and love his style. I am just saying even downhill he's still better than most of us as well. These guys are on a different planet at going fast down gnarly stuff.
@@EdFormerI don’t think he was insulting Matt, he is just admiring how talented some people are. Matt is no slouch but sometimes people forget there is a reason why they are call professional athletes.
@@Cjdklh aye, that's totally fair! Just didn't think it right to say that it's _crazy_ that an incredible slopestyle rider could get left in the dust by incredible downhill riders while riding downhill. But of course, with regards to the fact that Matt is also brilliant at riding downhill, it does give us measly bumblers some insight into just how ridiculously fast those other riders are.
It always bugs me when people hate on the girls for being slow in DH. Not many guys have a hope in hell of keeping up with a Jess Blewitt in NZ!

The videos starting from Hardline have been on point, it's been so awesome seeing Matt doing different styles (mainly DH) riding. I would be curious to see him try XC lol
It started from Darkfest imo but yeah, I'm an OG fan and this is some of his best content. He should sign Ronan to HF

I don't see that happening though. No doubt in my mind he could do it, I just don't think he wants to. He wouldn't do it unless it was 100% and he's just got too much going on to dedicate that much time to one thing.

Always followed the channel but I stopped riding for the last 10 years after a bad crash but just recently I've been that hooked again am back on 2 wheels big love brother keep smashing it love the channel nd the content 🙌🖤

Matt has all the skills to to do magic on a bike in the air, but it's fun to see him progress in downhill skill. It becomes an obsession to improve once you embrace downhill on a serious level. I can't wait to see Matt racing some day

Matt, keep up with the Downhill stuff. Love to see the contrast of someone who is really good on a bike and these maniacs that just go full out down a mountain. You're also getting noticeably better and becoming an impressive all disciplines rider.

Did my first proper enduro race last year. My teammate and I are not bad. We took some friends out for the first time, and they absolutely died when we were having a warm-up.
But it was a hard battle for the 2nd to last position, I can tell you that much haha.

Dude, you may have been getting dropped on the downhill runs but I bet if you brought half those guys to your Hellfarm or to your training lot, you'd smoke them in the tricks! I still think you should train with BK on DH and then train him for tricks a trials. You both already do some wicked crazy air and are both super talented in your respective areas!

Hey Matt. Thanks for showing me what 415 watt sprints looks like! So i know what my sidewalk sprints need to feel like! Lol. BTW, I fell off my bike last week and smacked my noggin. When you rode down that tree and messed yours up, how many weeks did you convelesce to recover yours?
With how much airtime you get on the Gorge jumps, is it feasible to backflip each jump?
I remember a comment about your bike setup at hardline, the comment mentioned that your suspension setup was incredibly stiff.
Did you end up getting it tuned? If not I reckon going through the tuning process and the difference it makes would be an interesting video

6:54 sounds a lot like my riding. Get the first line, but not the second. Comes down to reps though.

absolutely ate shit at coronet peak yesterday on the 2nd jump after the rock drop. Went too deep beside the bank and had a gnarly off apparently according to a couple of the world cup riders that saw it 🤣 unsure on who they were

amazing to see what a difference between DH riders and a freestyle rider is...now i feel much better about myself as a rider at the level that i am...hearing matt being completely out of shape there is hope for us regulars
