- This book is so useful if you are wanting to learn how to draw birds like myself. It teaches you to understand a birds anatomy, how the feathers lay, this in turn helped me achieve some decent sketches.

Glad you like, will you be drawing your parrots?
@@JustJohnnyCreations I am still learning, I made a small gouache painting of my Amazon , and pastel paintings of my sun conures. The Amazon came out OK 😊
@@JustJohnnyCreations I got the book, it’s so good!! Thank you again!!
👍
Hey Daniel, thank you for watching.
‘…it tuned out looking like a flying mole.’ Made me laugh, I know what you mean. 😄
Thank you for watching my channel Keith.
This looks great, I've been drawing blue Jay's and trying to understand the anatomy and different movements like flight ect. The other books in the series sound like something I'd be interested in too! I'll have to have a look. Thanks for sharing!
I bought the Almanac book, going to make it into a sketchbook just for bird drawings.
@@JustJohnnyCreations that's such a cool idea! Would love to see the process if you want to film it I'd watch it!
Yes after I watch a zillion tutorials on how its done.
I would think about getting The Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling if you can. While it is more about journaling than this book it has a great deal of other material as well, covering drawing insects, flowers, other small and a few large beasties, as well as birds. It is about three times the thickness of the bird book and only about 1/3 more in terms of price, so very good value if you were thinking of getting another nature drawing book.
Hey Keith thanks for that I'll look it up now, love insects would like to learn to draw them.
@@JustJohnnyCreations Hi, if you want a bit more detail there is a UA-cam review and flip through here: ua-cam.com/video/yS24sLdM5xI/v-deo.html
I would also recommend having a look at John Muir Laws' videos on UA-cam. There are a ton of them covering all sorts of topics especially drawings, they are often video recordings of his lectures and are frequently over an hour long giving lots of tips and information. A typical one covering insect drawing as an example: ua-cam.com/video/0TYd8g_Rrws/v-deo.html
Obviously entirely up to you and maybe not what you are looking for, but I think at least worth a quick look.
