Hi Dave, actually Z1 has Play Buttons for Decks A & B. They are the A & B monitor buttons while pressing the Mode button. Very nice video. Cheers.

Ah yes! Thanks for all the details! I have exact setup, so put F1 as CD and then using FX on 3 and 4 and selecting those for all 4 decks. This way I can load remix sounds and stems on 3/4 and have an additional 4 FX for each deck. And I did remove the Browse mapping…that was driving me mad - I’d take that as the only thing I learned, but so much more - thank you! Was contemplating moving away from Traktor but your videos reminded me why I got these 2 pieces of kit in the first place…back at it again.
Bless you for this! I have been trying to figure out what the heck this second default mapping was for this thing and could only find info on the remix deck default mapping! I got my f1 used years ago with no packaging and finally decided to use it. Was fiddling around and discovered it was a 2 deck controller but didn't know all the ins and outs, glad I saw this vid! Thanks again.

Thanks for this I have 2 F1s with an S5 mostly for more control with the Stem format but was super curious what that sleeve that came with one of my F1s did good to know. These videos have been super helpful. recently been trying to incorporate a Midi Fighter into my sets but kinda funny forgot that Remix decks are a thing and could be doing it with my F1s (even though I love my Midi fighter for it's arcade buttons such a fun device to play)

Watching your video over and over again..i finally purchase F1..thank you.. totally loving it and i use it for remix/stem on deck c and d..with overlay i can control effect for 3 and 4..perhaps cam remap it for effect 1 & 2 later on once i finish explore F1..or continue using my korg nanokontrol studio for effect 1& 2..or perhaps purchase x1 mk2..hehehe 😈😈😈

Hi Dave loving your F1 series. Will you be doing a similar thing for the Kontrol D2 I'm especially looking at how to overmap the Fx section so I can use the knobs as a pitch/tempo slider and key changers if possible in Traktor 3 -

You went into Traktor Settings -> Controller Manager -> F1 User Mode to delete a mapping. So do I understand it correctly that you can completely re-map the User Mode to your liking which you can quickly access through Shift + Browse on F1 to have a lot of additional controls other than the ones you just showed in the video (I don't like the F1 knobs and faders acting like FX control in User Mode for instance, but I want to keep the main Remix Deck control mode and not completely do a new mapping in Midi Mode)

Hey man, love your videos with the traktor and kontroller explanations. i got me a f1 as a christmas present for myself and just saw this video. unfortunately, as you just said, in the newer boxers the overlays are missing.. so can you do us a favor and just scan yours do pdf DL for other users? will be very helpful to get to know all of the functions of the f1 ^^

They are like gold dust unfortunately. Just eBay I guess. If you need a pic of it just shout.
Using the F1 between two X1's gives you a perfect 4 channel player/mixer. Add a third x1 and you have fx1 + fx2.
Great vid DAVE! I've got one question tho: is there a way to adjust the pitch/tempo without touching the laptop/computer? this would be great for a nice progression in the mix. Thanks in advance
Thanks Greg. Unfortunately not with the F1 without mapping it but you could use the mixer to do that.
Is possible to use the F1 with a 2 channels mixer (not z1)? Deck A&B time code vinyl and deck C with F1 controling a remix set or stems? With my Z1 is possible, but using external mode do i need route the ch.3 signal to a physical channel?

Hi dave! I really appreciate your info on the mk3. Unfortunately I could only afford the mk3 mikro. If you are aware of the differences of the two would you mind sharing? I'm brand new to music production but I've found such an incredible outlet for creativity in the maschine. Any advice would be helpful. Well more helpful than you have already been. Hi Timothy and glad they have been useful. The Mikro mk3 is great and you’ll have fun I’m sure. You can do so much on it and a lot is the same. Obviously you don’t have the screens and rotaries but can do all of that on the software. If you have any specific questions then fire away 😊 happy creating

Tbh sampling is something I haven’t covered because I ran out of time but I do need to do a video for it but if you check out Accurate Beats channel he is great at showing you how to do it. Highly recommend his channel to you. Hope you enjoy the rest of my videos though.
Great video Dave as always, I'm in a pickle I've got my Z2 set up with my reloop rp7000mk2. I want to plug my S2 Mk3 into my laptop and use that to play 4 decks however when I plug the controller in its just uses deck A,B is there a way around this using the F1 or midi map??

Hi I would like to buy a new controller for traktor but today I am undecided whether to buy the X1 or the F1; I state that I would be interested in the effects management, sync and loop functionalities as I use also maschine in my configuration (so the remix deck is not used). would you recommend the controller X1 or F1 using the skin you show in this video?

Dave I’m trying to do this with an F1 while using a Z2, the Z2 and the f1 are both trying to control FX1 and 2. Is there a way to set it up that the Z2 controls FX1 a single FX and the F1 controls a group fx on FX3 ?

This will happen as they are mapped to the same thing. You could go into controller manager and make C/D instead. I’d go into the actual mapping and just change the fx to 3 and 4. Shout if you need help
Dave, great video, please could you ask NI to input a simple update to pro 3, We need colour coded Hotcues!!!
Thanks Rubester, they are colour coded in regards to grid cue, cue, loop cue, load cue and fade in and out cue.
Yeah I get ya, I’m talking hotcues only, there’ all blue, so it’s hard to remember what’s what, be nice to color code them your choice of colour like you can in rekordbox

DAVE Digital and Vinyl Expert also a quick question you might be able to answer. I use pro 3 with the A6 soundcard. I am wanting a man s8. If I brought one off eBay(second hand) would it work on my pro 3? See there’s quite a bit of confusion with buying second hand native instruments hardware, Seeing as pro 3 will allow any soundcard to work with it I’m guessing a used S8 would work on mine. Or would the seller have to de resister the hardware his end and send my the serial code. I hope you can answer this. Many thanks Rube

The S8 would absolutely work and sound great. Native are really good at changing peoples serials. All the owner would need to do is write to NI and ask them to move their serial to the new email and BOOM

Anyone know if it is possible to use the F1 as a midi controller for a hardware synth? I have an S4, so can midi clock the synth to the S4, I just cant trigger the synth at the moment

how can i found free techno acid sample for my F1 controller ?
sample it yourself using audicity, or create your own samples with free tools on the internet, this tutorial made me buy a 2nd hand F1 as you can go absolutly nuts with this :)
