Bikes today have lost their way in styling... That 93 looks so much better
Yep!!!!
New Fireblades look like a beast too with just a little modification , but its like he said. Some people love it some hate it. I love that snub nose design. It just looks like a cannonball going fast...
The Heart In the 90's Sportbikes were just getting their faces.
True. I like cbr in 2002 and 03
No way, tho I do like the fuller side fairing
First sport bike I saw up close as a kid was a 900rr in 1994. It was one of those surreal experiences that left an impression on me even to this day.
i love the raw sound of the 900rr. just pure perfection
I love those classic bikes with two headlamps, those were the golden years of sport bikes. The big brother of the "Baby Blade" aka CBR250RR.
I would love to own a 93’! Such a timeless design.
Still love the old one 100% BETTER!!!!!
The dual round headlights are gorgeous
I'll take the '93
I remember the first time I saw the 93 CBR900rr, I thought it was the best looking bike ever made, many sleepless nights dreaming about buying one. At the time I was riding the 93 Kawasaki ZX7 (Candywine with black frame) These sport bikes from the early nineties hold a special place in my heart. Four years ago I found a 96 Kawasaki ZX9R (another bike I always wanted) and refuse to give it up even after buying a new ZX14R. There's something magical about these bikes.
Same here, just made my drivers license for bikes (with 49 years) and only look at cruisers and mid 90's super sport-bikes.
For me, the original is such a beautifully proportioned machine. I'm not keen on the minimalist bodywork of modern sports bikes
Anything that's from the 80's/90's that look like it's from the 80's/90's while still looking like it's from the future is great.
OLD ONE LOOKS GREAT
The new one is lifeless compared to the oldie.
what a beautiful bike that 1993 !!!!! :)
It seems to me that most modern sportsbikes have lost a lot of character. The bikes from the 90s era were a lot more different. Look for example at suzuki, kawasaki, honda and yamaha then vs now. The new gsxr, zx10r, cbr1000rr and r1 are a lot more alike then the gsxr750 SRAD, zxr750, cbr 900rr and the fzr1000exup. All of those bikes had their own perks and special character.
I may be biased cause I have one but for me the 1990 GSXR1100 was the prettiest bike. The finish is supperb too with zero rust anywhere despite all weather riding
That's absolutely true mate. But the difference between technology of each brand now, is deffo something to wach too.
Back then they were just building bikes by their own standards. Now it's a competition. They are trying to get the average consumer as close to the moto gp experience as possible.
I had a 93 CBR 600 - the color pattern, is still my favorite. Just sick.
I love the '93. Beautiful! CBR's rule!
Great Video. I like the older bike better. I've wanted one of those for a while. Now I own a 2001 929rr and its freakin amazing. The CBRs have come a very long way.
I’m blessed to say I have a 1998 Honda CBR 900RR it’s a head turner and I wouldn’t let it go considering it’s in really good condition with the original fairings I didn’t get to experience the 90s since I was born in 96 but man these bikes are beautiful
Nice man!! I have a 2000 r1 in immaculate condition, low kms/miles everything stock except for micron slip on and black visor! And same here I was born 95 so I grew up drooling over these 90s/early 2000s bikes! Amazing machines I'm keeping mine forever
@@samuelmustapha5301 Hell yeah brother can’t go wrong with the r1 ride on 👌
Is go 90’s all day… That CBR was KING! Sadly sold mine.. Greatest memories! Very nice review!! 👍🏻
nice video! Im the proud owner of a 2013 600RR and i LOVE it. Honda makes great bikes. That 93 fireblade is a beauty
2:11 "All aluminum" tank? Um, yeah no. That's a steel tank champ.
6:59 - That funny computer noise is nothing more than the fuel pump priming.
I miss my 95 gsxr 750. 90's bikes had style. Now they all look the same.
Just found this and spent a wonderful 10 minutes and then reminiscing my 900RRS which was my favorite bike - ever.
Yes, I rode faster - more expensive - newer... but that RRS was a princess, the Fireblade is a dynasty, thank you Baba San
Beauty's. Your video is making me want an older CBR. I love the double headlights. If one gos out, you have a spare till you can replace the light that went out.
This makes me miss my 96 900rr. I remember riding that back in the day. Everyone was like wow a 900!
After 17yrs the 93 cbr900rr is still a beautiful looking bike could not keep my eyes off of it during your video. 8)
Friend of mine had one of these... great bike... I ride a 01 929rr and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Hard to believe the CBR 900 is this old. I remember when they first came out.
I remember the year the 93 came out I stared at it everyday in a magazine and promised I'd buy one, coolest bike I'd ever seen. I never bought one but I will someday.
I had a black Blade 98 which was wrecked totally in 08... lost the bike and a part of my right middle finger - still a cheap trade off when being T-boned by a small bike on a busy highway doing 120 km/h... I have lost friends in much less severe accidents over the years unfortunately, RIP.
I loved that bike! take care and drive safely!
i have one of these same year, great condition just black and red. 50k miles on it and still runs like a champ. still fast as fuck
you forgot to mention, that the new bike will last a lot less than the old one, it will take a lot more maintanance to have it running well for years rather than the old one which will run fine even after years of riding
Just recommended to me now? Lol love the 90s bikes. Fell in love with my yzf 600r genesis, the foxeye. Such cool names for old bikes. All analog, all joy.
Old is gold.
I miss my '95 RR-S Urban Tiger, wish i'd never sold it. Had it 5 yrs and some fantastic memories. Can't imagine feeling as attached to a newer CBR as i did my '95.
Loved my 94 Blade. Wish I'd have kept it now, but I upgraded to the R1 when they came out, wish I'd have kept my 99 R1 too
Picking up a MINT, identical red/white/blue 93 900RR tomorrow. So excited!
I love my 93 cbr900 rr... My big fat baby
Throttle Rider The way you kids are kickin it going down the HIGHWAY the balance on these things must be really good!!! A co-Worker with a GSX-R told me the balance is great but the STOPPED FRONT TIRE that you put down at 100MPH is very scary!!
cbr900rr sc28 1992 here ✌️
I like that 93 more than the newer model.
no school like old school i say, iv got a 93 cbr900rr and i love its got enough power and plenty of character, i like it when all the old guys come up an go i havent seen 1 of these in a long time just makes it that bit better & its awsome owning a bike knowing it set the standards for what bikes are today
I remember when the 900rr came out. At the time, the GSXR 1100 was the King. I was at a motorcycle dealership and a salesman, who owned a GSXR 1100 was saying how he got dusted by the new 900rr.
The pinholes on the fairings were so radical at the time. No motorcycle had those pinholes. Homda said they helped with aerodynamics, but it might have been a slick gimmick. That bike ROCKED the industry. I would compare it to the debut of the Bugati Veyron. No one had seen anything like it.
Had a 1996 CBR900RR and now a 2006 CBR1000RR great bikes.
I remember when the first 900RR hit the streets. First time I saw one it was doing a wheelie
🤷♂️
I own a 954RR and power wheelies are pretty much mandatory
I used 2007 model for 5 years i recently bought 2010 model its amazing bikes on road better than all others that either breakdown or ends up in fatal accidents. Im sure my next bike will be honda cbr 1000rr too.
+Sajid Mirza the ones that end up in fatal accidents is either the ones who get hit by a car or who dont drive safely has absolutely NOTHING to do with whatever bike you drive be it a hyosung or a honda
+lillnemo1 you are right indeed i used to think the same until recently when i was riding my honda cbr 1000 2010 model and on high speed soon after i took a sharp turn the front wheel wobbled dangerously and i was about to crash lucky me i thought the wheelie in that situation will be a solution and that litterally saved me from crashing i think its due to the bikes weight unfortuately but my old cbr 1000 2007 in 10years never did that so i will leave on you to judge it.
Sajid Mirza
Well, offcourse every bike is different, but so is every tire. Take two of the same bikes and put different tires on them, it's very likely both bikes will behave different. Apart from that, maybe your new bike has more torque or power or different chassis-setup... There are SOOOOOOO many factors that can cause a wobble or a crash, but ultimately, it's all about the driver who needs to know what HE can do with THAT bike. If you crash while not being hit by a car, it's YOUR fault. simple as that. And I know by experience, cause I fell a lot last year on the track. Granted, I bought my first bike and didn't check suspension setup and eventually it seemed there just wasnt any suspension, that hard was it set up. But that's just the point: I SHOULD KNOW what's going on with my bike
+lillnemo1 very true my friend. i absoultey agree with you on all the points. i hope you didnt get injured. Ride safe on road or on track. takecare.
Maybe the big four will eventually take a retro cue from Ford, Chevy, and Dodge, (Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger) and go backward a bit to move forward. I prefer the looks of the CBR 900 RR myself, but I'm getting to be an old geezer now anyway, in my 40's. They were the baddest, meanest looking bikes to me, though. Wish I had one now !!!
I'd take the 93 over the new one any day!!!!
413sOWN nagh id take the new one sale it then buy a couple old ones smart way to do it
I have a 99. The last one made before they changed it up. I love everything about it!!
I want that 1993 :O . it looks amazing!!!
That 93 is a beautiful bike! Wish they made em like that now! These new bikes are weird!
In '93 the CBR 900 RR and ZX7 were my favorites, as far as looks were concerned. HOT bikes then. Still HOT now. IMO.
Im in love with the CBR900! Classy, never trashy... A CBR900 with a new CBR1000RR front end (and fairing stay removal) would be the perfect bike!
I miss driving the '93 900rr with missing fairings and street fighter look. It kept up very well with R1. Sold it a couple of yrs ago.
It's not even that the 2010 bike looks bad, because it doesn't, it's just that so many bikes have looked just like that for so long that the appeal of the dark, pointy, aggressive looking streetbike has kind of faded away for most people. We get that pretty much all bikes are capable of reaching mindblowing speeds now and we get that the companies that build them want the styling to reflect that but what happened to the big proud bikes with the wild colors and crazy zig-zags that instantly fired up the imagination the moment you looked at them? The 2010 looks like it's ready to get you to where you need to be but the 1993 looks like IT is where you need to be.
I have a ‘99 900RRX Blade..and I love it.. That ‘93 is gorgeous..
If S. Honda would see that cbr 1000rr from 2010 he would have tears. It looks so beautiful!
I find it amazing that they talk about a choke and the fuel injection etc yet when they go to start both of them the carbs without choke start easier than the injection lmao gimme an 893 any day.
It is very true what he said about low down torque. New bikes feel so sluggish on the streets unless you are breaking laws.
95 urban tiger.
im a gsxr boy and i still love the look of this 900rr i would love to own one!!!!beautiful bike
I have owned 7 cbr900rr's . these are prolly my favorite bikes to ride ... so much fun ... Big and power everywhere!@!@!@!@
I had that exact same bike in those same colors in 2005 and it was a great bike then!!!! I to this day wish I hadn't sold it!!! Nice bikes
I owned a 93rr back in the early 2000s but the black gray and red version. I miss the bike even thou I'm a Harley guy now I'd live to.own one again and just have it in my garage
I will get a black/grey/red 93 or 94 CBR900rr one of these days. Gorgeous bike with power to spare.
The tail in this old one looks much better than the hanger that follows the tail of the new one.
I had 96-07 and loved them all :)
Nice camera work by your Grandmother there.
I still prefer the style of my 96 CBR900RR vs the newer bikes, and it's cool having the extra trunk space under the rear seat. ☺
this was actually a very good review much better than those in other more popular channels i really enjoyed it thank you guys
That new bike is over 10 years old now in 2021. Time for a new video.
you are totally right the 900rr has passion and soul on it Unlike those tiny plastic new bikes
I love the 93 900rr... I'd love to get my hands on one
I have a 95' kawasaki zx7r. I love it. Love the old school feel, I did take all my fairings off though. Too many years on them..
I wish they make the 2021 cbr with the twin headlight looks just like the old cbr 900 rr once again . Exactly the same as old cbr 900rr or rc45 and features of todays bikes. I wish the rc45 look was never changed and kept till date. Rc 45 or fireblade 900 rr of 1992 or 1993 had the best looks till date.
First Blade had 115hp. Then SC33 (919) got 128 in late '95. "Dual taillight" is a taillight and a reflector.
I like the enthusaism for the old one (I have one myself), but I personally would take the 2010 with Repsol fairings without a doubt. I freakin love the design of the new one, and I have quite a hard time finding new bikes to my liking.
The Rabbit has it's own uniqueness to it in terms of aesthetics but their fairing designs are tasteless imo except the repsol. I got a 954 myself in red and it's my fav
Despite of the fact that i dont like HONDAS.... what a great review!! the best epoc for sportbike according to my perception was the 90's i miss those zzr1000-zxr750-gsxr-750-1100 yamahas etc.
cheers and congratulations!!
I've got a '98, and i'm so proud!!
I wish I could post a pic of my 93...I got the black silver and red trim. SWEET...needs some carb work unfortunately.
Had same bike in 1994. Had the 600 then the 900. Red white and blue.
954 blade, best looking of the bunch.
Pay him no mind. I agree.
@audioinstaller2004 Look at 5:17, it has little leds on the sides of the plate mount.
Nice review, the details on changes are interesting. I would like to know how much different they are to maintain and which is easier to work on?
I love the look of the 93 blade, modern classic.
Hate how pointy modern sportbikes have become. ESPECIALLY hate the license plate brackets hanging down half a metre. What's the point of looking like a dagger then hanging an oversize bracket off of it. To me, the older CBR looks much more proportionate, much less "try hard." I'd feel like a wanker riding that modern bike, but comfortable and happy to ride the older model!
They make the new bikes so tiny too. It's probably just a way to have more impressive numbers in the magazines too. What good does it do if most people can't ride them because they are so small though?
@TexusTim, That's O.K. I'll rather stay with the original CBR, I like the fact when I go to bike night's & motorcycle rally's and I see everybody with the new model and I'm the only one there or one of the few that left around and they look and see all the work I put in too the old schooler and they start checking it out and taking pictures, I just love It....
The early fireblades did not have aluminum gas tanks, they're regular metal which is why they rust so easy. If you have older fireblade getting your tank professionally coated is way to go.
93 all the way
Buddy had the exact same bike back in the day. I had the black red and silver one. Both 93. I had Yoshimura exhaust he had the old school D&D. Good times. Wheelies for days
im not sure if i would choose a 1000 RR Repsol from 2005 or this 900 RR, i guess i would prefer 900 RR style cuz it is so beautiful!!!
@Spadie1 Is it just me? I actually prefer the looks of the early to mid 90's sportbikes better than anything they make now. I was working at a honda dealership back when these RR's came out,and I really drooled over 'em! Even though at the time I would have been much too scared to really turn the throttle on one of these. But if I had some money to burn,it would be a dream come true to own one of these!
I to this day still ride my 93 900RR and love it! Although my 900 is worked with race cams, 919cc, headwork, GP shift is the Best, and my favorite part is my 39 race carbs that NO Fuel injection bike will EVER sound like. Love it when poeple tell me something is wrong with my bike and then they Hear a Growl from behind. Just Nasty.. Also has a rear Fox shox which Fox doesnt make for motorcycle anymore and so thats a classic and I have the bike stretched 7" back for drag racing.
WOW what a legand the cbr900 rewrote the defination of pure speed easy one of my favorite older bikes !!!
i love the cbr's
I would love to own the original 900rr, they look amazing!
rider of a 93 honda cbr 600 f2, looks way different than the 93 honda cbr 900rr lol, did not know that
The 80's bike has more thought put into the way it looks. Also the horse power these days doesn't mean much. Owned alot of bikes, but found the 1980/1990s bike more invigarating. I still love the new bikes. Don't get me wrong. 👍😁. Safe biking everyone.
I currently own my 6th 900rr I love them . Great bikes for their time , honda was not screwin around when they made these! I
I always wondered what that funny computer noise was when I started my bike lol
What happened to the red/white/blue bike in the vid?
my first "big" bike was a 1997 CBR900RR, up from a 2008 Ninja 250R. even for an old bike they still have heaps of balls
CBR 1993 red/white& blue beautiful!!
The 93' sounds more like a sports bike than the 2010 lol. I guess it's from the slip on. I still love my 92' CBR 600 F2.
I stopped the video when it came to the 2010 cbr1000rr.
I'm Bozo the clown with a 10" cock.
that double r is way cooler than that space ship looking one.
