As a concerned patriotic Kenyan citizen, I don't buy that notion of tight fiscal space being thrown around by almost everyone in KK government.
How will you explain creation of CAS positions against the court ruling? These CAS earn a whooping 780k per month excluding the other deals and allowances they get. Mind you, we are not talking about one CAS, we are talking about more than 20😢.
Again, we have been seeing the careless wastage of Kenyan taxpayers money with meaningless things like: curtains, statehouse renovations, ghost workers!!
Dr. Patrick Amoth, kindly explain why there is no concern about the 'fiscal space' when it comes to these other matters!??
Kenya is aman eat society nobody cares what your saying
Amoth is being selfish with the truth .
But we have millions of cash to build pavilions and renovations for the "Mfalme" wa watu wa "Morima" and global trotting? Misplaced priorities!!!!
This man is competent. He is both diplomatic and professional. What I don’t understand is how he has no stand😂😂
Money mehn...Takes the stand away hehe
Which stand?bashing the govt is not having a stand ,he us well
Dr. Amoth clearly knows what the problem in the Health sector is. My take is that he is giving well informed and honest responses to this intense but justified questioning.
When Kenyans voted to have health devolved, they communicated that health wasn't that important to them. Let them live by it.
This is wrong. Not all Kenyans wanted a failing devolution and country.
@@tomopulin1512 not all yes, but the majority voted that way.
Devolution was intended at ensuring service delivery reached the mwananchi at the lower admin levels, however with how counties are run as rodeos of unabashed theft. It is a mass failure.
@@ClaytonOngige we had the experience with county councils that couldn't run dispensaries. We thought, wrongly, that running schools was more complex than running healthcare.
Interns have increased, our population has increased, our gdp has increased, our tax collection has increased, even salaries za mps and allowance have increased. Pay interns buana
Ask treasury or Head of state
If the head of state wanted these demands to be made, it would happen. He only needs to give a directive that the healthcare workers get posted and those who completed their internship to be employed and it will be done.
Also, if the head of state wanted public hospitals to be functional with proper medical equipment and medicine, it will happen. The problem we have is that our politicians don't care about the basic needs of the public. They're so overfed that all they do is belch and fart. They're completely out of touch with the problems an ordinary kenyan has to deal with to stay alive and THEY DON'T CARE what happens to you!
Latiff, please urgently schedule a date with this Director to shed light as to the countries position on the ongoing voting on the WHO Pandemics Treaty and it's implications on Kenyans sovereignty and autonomy on matters health.
The likes of Nakhumicha & the rest of tenderpreneurs are scared of a focused serious professional like Dr Amoth They want a tenderpreneur to be the DG. Really sad
You’re just posting comments because you have a cheap phone and borrowed wifi. People of your IQ must not be allowed to air opinions about anything because you have no capacity to digest facts and information.
The CS’s position is informed by the manifesto and advice given by the likes of Amoth and the CS. They’re speaking from the same page. Please read.
There is something wrong with kenya health ecosystem. It is silly for Dr Amoth to say that the ministry health has no role in the training of doctors and while it is the one placing those doctors in the internship.
The commission of higher education is apart of government and that must communicate with the ministry health in the capacity to have Internship.
Dude the Country Government took the Docket to manage its healthcare there's little he can do if Local government can fund
Very silly
Always a pleasure listening to Dr. Amoth.
This man Dr.Amoth is very wise ...
He looks more composed and convincing a lot
The proverb from Mauritius that CT muga read, speaks for itself."the cleverness of one is like a shallow well that dries up. i wonder why people like Dr Amoth who understands what health and medicine is cannot be give a chance to clean this ministry of health docket. or he's too clever and genius to be appointed.
This discussion highlights the complex challenges spanning training, funding, regulation and labor facing Kenya's healthcare sector. Addressing them will require sustained dialogue and reforms engaging all stakeholders to ensure the system can meet rising workforce and population health needs.
Does Kenya Kwanza's government look at any other important matters other than money & taxes?
That's the fundamentals. Interns are not looking for uji, they are looking for money
A very smart and dedicated civil servant, no doubt. However; the system can not deliver, and he has the unfotunate task to come before everyone to deliver this verbal gymnastics.
Dr Amorth is speaking the truth. The quality of doctors is very low. Even there diagnosis is not right thus delaying treatment and leading to many deaths this days.
That's the major cause of more deaths we have at the moment..
Everybody MUST watch the last 2 minutes! Epic close, Amoth left with egg on his face!
CT should be the CS of health!!
fundamentally even primary healthcare to be effective and efficient will require the input of primary healthcare physicians who still need to go through the internship period before they enroll for postgraduate training in family medicine/ primary healthcare.
Amoth : We have no visibility in what's happening in universties
Also Amoth: Now we have visibility because of our coordination
Too much confusion
True
@38mins great question there Eric. The director understands the question but skirts around the issue. Hiding our heads under the sand, what the director is doing, will not solve rhe mattr at hand.
Waah! English and Luos are twins
Which Other countries have challenging in completion of training of doctors
Amoth: Tanzania & Morocco 🤦♂️
(We are not being serious if that's is the comparisons we are making)
Tight fiscal framework indeed, when Statehouse can spend with reckless abandon..🤨
Dr.Amoth with his vast and wealth of knowledge in public health,WHO and the courage and boldness during the Covid-19 pandemic today is talking from both sides of his mouth.I fear for my life....Hopeless times!
He is giving the right information he can't lie, funding is done by treasury
He's seeing the mess in the sector, has solutions to solve the mess, but he has to sit on the mess coz he can't curse the hand that's feeding him.
So he should break the treasury on behalf of KMPDU.
@@kensimiyu5926 sad the 'right information' doesn't include the suffering of the masses caused by the doctor's stalemate,a kid 1and half years died on Tuesday when caregivers were in search of doctors😭
Most of the professional bodies in Kenya i.e doctors, engineers... all have an issue with the commission of University Education (CUE) especially after the 2020 court ruling that placed the accreditation of all professional courses on CUE. This is a conversation to have at legislation level and see how both professional bodies and CUE can work together. A while back graduate engineers suffered a lot after doing courses accredited by CUE and not recognized byEngineers Board meaning the graduated couldn't practice as engineers. The synergy between education sector and industry is not there. Education should be based on industry requirements.
Chaos is just waiting to break loose, ruto is just managing a catastrophe is there anything which is functioning?
😂😂. As if it will break loose in his house. These naysayers. They said Kenya won't make it to 2024 without defaulting debt, the dollar will be 200.... damn it! We can't leave waiting for catastrophe
@@alexkibe4179 Just tell me one thing which is functioning well be it Public Transport, education, healthcare, ghostworkers, tax collection,Urban planning ,Passport IDs driving license issuing you name its not working.
@@mwendapoleee do you go to work? Do your kids go to school, do you have a roof over your head, do you eat??... punguza expectations. The rest are Man made problems
@@alexkibe4179 Thats private sector ,i work in private company ,my children go to a private school and my house also is not from gava.
@@mwendapoleee baas. That's how it's meant to be. You are doing pretty fine.. stop complaining just for once
Even though the government has never been serious with healthcare provision and providers in general..
If it were anything political, then the man from sugoi would swing to action to have it in his favour!
Sad😢
My school mate is still on acting capacity😮. Something is quite wrong with health ministry.
Dr. Patrick Amoth.. You are a disgrace to the other fellow doctors. How can you just betray them??
Is it because you are now comfortable earning your millions per month?
A junior doctor earning a mere 100k is what is really paining this government? Its so sad
Remember you won't have this job forever. And after all these, you will be judged by your betrayal to your fellow doctors.
I really feel for Medics. I hope they will be treated as they deserve. These people sacrifice so so much for us Kenyans!
They are saying that Kenya is overproducing medics in universities ask Dr Amoth the role of clinical officers then???
If WHO hears that the acting DG, a whole medical doctor say that we are overproducing medics, they will just see us a bunch of jokers!
Kenyan Doctor to patients ratio is currently 1:17, 000 as compared to 1:1000 as recommended by WHO.
So does he propose that no other medics should be trained??
Such a shocker
Dr. Amoth spoke like a politician and not health manager. Wonder what such positions do to people. That said, these issues need to be discussed in public barazas so these so called paradigm shifts are interrogated and understood by the public.
‘The human pillar of UHC is the most difficult’…hehe.
Because there is nothing for the cartels here. The others have their pockets lined up
Why can't the Ministry remove itself from placing doctors for internships and leave it to the graduates to place themselves in any licensed facility? The rationale of mandatory placement by the ministry originated from the regular program when the Govt justified the mandatory indentured service as a way for the trainees to give back to society for having been trained by government subsidized funding. Since the government has ceased subsidizing healthcare professionals' training, they can't hold them hostage with the mandatory government placement before licensing. Open it up just like lawyers seek their own pupillage.
Then who will be paying them??
@@eadwinnyakweba5378 the employer, the same way lawyers negotiate their own salaries with their emolyer when doing pupillge
Dr. Amoth; Use your head. Doctors wouldn't be on the streets if GoK obeyed the courts ref. CBA 2017. This 'come to the table' crap is exactly that; CRAP.
They are just good at empty talk and corruption.
He's a technical officer ,dimwit making advisories to the ministry.
latif...lab technicians nolonger in our profession.
its very demeanng
Indeed we no longer have have technicians but technologists
I do wonder why prozz Ruto decided to appoint the currently CS and Left DR Patrick Amoth. Wadau kenya wonders will never end we shall raise up and excess our sovereignty power directing.
People he can manipulate and can’t even express themselves
For the first time, this man his losing it. This nonsense of tight fiscal space is the least I expect from someone I would consider competent. Why did the government make a commitment, by signing the CBA, only to come and talk about tight fiscal space.
And it is the same governments pushing so hard for us to have some useless position of CAS.
Please Spice FM, bring guys who have some dignity to say the truth. This man seems not to want to say the truth to the hands that feedeth him.
This guy can not act forever. Why can't they just nme a Kslenjin or Kikuyu if they do not want Prof. Another to be thd DG for health.
Amoth
Not Another
Exactly 💯
This Govt is completely disinterested I good and serious governance.
Only in enriching themselves
😂 the government doesn't give a rats Ass about Us... they just want the money
Many Kenyans are asking why can't they confirm him or luo is a tribe of less
Until puplic setvants with medical insurance covers paid by puplic money keep going to very expensive private hospitals instead of puplic hosps for treatment we will never get fuller attention. From govt to improve puplic health ,for now we are doomed
Did the good Doctor have a minor stroke or a dental procedure or am I just seeing my own things?
Focus on info the DG has and How helpful it is to u! Any otherl Observations physical etc aren't Useful!
This guy is highly competent but the problem is he has the impossible task of defending the clueless KK govt inorder to keep his job. He is just a coward
When you answer everything by not answering anything
He will be fired for telling the truth
It's a pity that such a brilliant mind is an acting dg in the ministry of health yet a joker in the name of Nakhumicha is the CS and this gentleman is reporting to her.God help us
Why is he acting the CS is even young n inexperienced
Is this doctor qualified? He can't answer any question
What are you talking about ,this is a senior Gynaecologist and a teacher to most of the Doctors Residents that you see around doing a great job beside that he is more senior than some of the Doctors from your village 😂,not in a bad state
Your mentally ill
Health workers jobs is a calling, but most of our health workers are money hungry that's why they misdiagnose patients coz they don't care.
Toa ufala hapa Onger
Who made that prescription it's a calling? If it is a calling why not employ those healing pastors in your churches ?
A calling using which phone company?
Hahahaha another confused Kenyan noted
